On my last visit to Chennai I had the great privilege of seeing Gnanam mami's drama on Sri Ramakrishna Paramahamsa. The hall was filled to the brim with only standing room. Thinking about that evening still fills me with awe because the production was a class by itself and all the ladies who acted were simply superb....no words to describe how they seamlessly transported the audience to the times of Paramahamsa himself with the help of Swami Vivekananda who narrates the whole story. Mami is truly a blessed soul. She is filled with a vibrancy and child-like joy that can only be seen in a true devotee of our triumvirate of Acharyas of the Kanchi Kamakoti Matham who many of us have been blessed to see and have their karunai kataksham fall upon us, as well as all the previous Acharyas of our Matham. If I remember right, both Sri Sri Maha Periya & Sri Sri Periyava came to the the Mayavatam, & camped in Sri Vallalar Kovil in 1960 for 2/3 days. I was learning Typewriting & Shorthandd in Rajan's Technical Institute, Koorainadu. My mother took me & my brother one evening. We learnt thathe same night the Pattinna Pravesam of both Peetathpathis was arranged by Sri Dharmaura Adheenam. So around 8 p.m. I again went to Mayuram Town along with my elder sister & had the darshan of both Sri Kamakoti Periyas in Mahadana Street amidst the Veda Gosham, Nadaswaram of several leading Vidwans, bursting of fireworks, & Hara hara Sankara Jaya Jaya Sankara Gosham,the mammoth Pattina Pravesam procession led by the then Dharmapuram Adheena Karthar by walk reverentially. It was a feast to my eyes & I still enjoy the scene by bringing it to my memory. It was a great day in my present life.
