Oh, Taproot. Why does your music have to be so delicious and perfect... I feared that as my ear training progressed and my musical tastes became more discerning, this band would fall out of my favor, but it turns out it just makes me appreciate them more. Especially that voice... That is deceptively hard to pull off. Gah...
I feel this. grew up and got into more artsy / experimental music but lately nu metal has rly been hitting the spot, I never listened to much Taproot til recently and god this shit SLAMS
Its sad really. On my way to work i drive by a lot of places me and my friends used to hangout/skate and its sad they are just vacant now. Kinda depressing haha.
Times have changed, I used to work in a skate shop, but I don't see any around anymore. There is a skate park near my office and when I hear that noise of a skateboard going past....well I'm the only one on my office that likes that noise
Lol! Yeah sadly times have changed i agree. Just glad it was really popular when i was younger and got to experience it and get a lot of good memories.
@@grimreaps6512 the steel cage match between Matt Hardy & Edge OH HELL YEAH 👍 before the match started there was a fan in the crowd who held up a sign that said "Hardy's Revenge"

Stephen Richards might just have been one of the best actual singers during the nu metal era. Guy's voice is killer. same with Chris Volz from Flaw. Atlantic screwed the pooch with these guys
Ironic that his name is Stephen Richards. There is a former wrestler named Stephen Richards who was in wwe at the same that this song was used for their Unforgiven 2005 PPV.
My wife heard this song on the Sirius Octane channel one day. Her taste in music and mine don't usually find any common ground, but she was driving my car so was listening to my music. Since she was driving she didn't really catch the title or artist but called me to ask about the song. It took a few days for me to figure out what song she was talking about, but I think if she had really paid attention to the lyrics she might have felt a little differently about the song.
Ya...I can see why people Think Taproot is ripping off peoples music, they have a very generic sound, and most of this great album is wriiten by different artists, but Taproot has there own spin on their music, that's why its Their music alright?
Layne Staley was supposed to be singing a song with Taproot in 2002 before he passed. I've always wondered what that would have sounded like if he was healthy. This is HIS sound 😊
Your telling me dude. WTF do people even listen to now? It isn't any kind of rock. Aside from 5FDP and Shinedown what band even has their finger on the pulse of this shithole anymore? People want to listen to little girls sing nowadays. At least our generation wont go down as the Japanized Pedafile one.
@@johnjandoh6732 I made that comment nine years ago... Back then, I was 12 years old, attending middle school, and using TH-cam as my primary source of music; after school, I would almost always bring up my own personal TH-cam playlist and listen to it while playing on my PS3. This song was part of that. As unbelievable as it sounds, I did find this song by accident as I was trying to find the song "Falling Away" by Drowning Pool but couldn't remember the title or artist. As a result, I tried typing in random lyrics, and this song came up somehow. I have no idea how I remember all of this, but, I swear, I remember it as if it were yesterday. In those nine years, I have moved four times (with number five on the horizon), not graduated from college despite being there for 3.5 years (and still not being close), not found a good job (I have an interview at a car dealership on Monday though), have had my heart broken a few times (and kind of given up on love), and I still really haven't done anything (I do have definite goals though). That sounds kind of depressing when you put it out there... Oh well. The future is not determined by the past, right? Let's hope for the best. Thank you for reminding me of an old memory you TH-cam stranger. No matter who we are, there is always a place where we came from, and, these days, I think it is important to remember that.

What bothers me about Tool is that the fans whine and complain every time some other band comes up with something even vaguely similar. I've been a huge Tool fan for a long time, and I like what these guys are doing. The similarities between this song and Schism/Vicarious are so insignificant that I don't believe it to be worth bringing up. I originally wasn't going to say anything, but after scrolling through the comments, I decided to throw in my two cents.
@Jason Hurk It is laughable, but it's also very true. Chevelle & a few other bands really fucked up the chances, and made it difficult for bands like Taproot or even more unrealized Chicago band, Madhops, of ever surpassing a certain echelon of the music charts. It is laughable because Taproot shits on Chevelle, 24 hours 7 days a week. I would also blame poor promotion & record politics from Atlantic's part... Just giving them the financial support & platform to put out Taproot's music was a sub-par effort, in my opinion. I feel like if they would've made the simple move of making "Lost In The Woods" and "Promise" SINGLES (accompanied with music video and all) following the success of "Calling", that Taproot would've EASILY blew up the box office for the year 2005. Huge missed opportunity there.
