I loved the art style of the models for this game after seeing your latest on the paint table. Bought the game and it shipped today! Super stoked to beta test this game with my friends.
Great as always! I was looking forward to this Let's Play. Couple of points which I think have been updated recently in the rules.
The turn token is placed one step closer to the player who is going first.
Secondly when rolling dodge dice a successful dodge removes the lowest attacking die as opposed to a single point of damage. I don't think this would have made a difference in this battle though! In the rules they also have the player who is rolling the attack roll the dodge die for the defender, but I guess it is nice to take fate into your own hands!
So, here's an interesting factor that will give it an edge over other fantasy miniature games, and guild ball, and one that I'm to utilize for my games: This game easily supports multiplayer.
How many times have you gone to a game night and seen two people hogging a full 6x4 table for a miniature game that takes hours. Or, how often have you seen a giant team game that takes forever and doesn't actually finish before people have to leave?
Godtear can easily have 1 player control 1 champion and their group of followers, or players can control multiple champions as needed. You can easily pack 6 miniature gamers around a table to play a game without it being a broken mess that takes forever.
Really nice job on the models and the hexes and all... looks great and looking forward to playing more games and watching the alpha-play test develop.
This is basically the boardgame for the Fate series, and I love it.

Looks great. Has a very "tournie" game vibe to it.
At one point you set the Battle Ladder to 0. It can never be 0. The first player starts with the token on the first space on their side of "0" since going first can actually be a disadvantage.
Looks like it got some potential, not sold on it just yet. Kindda bummed about the minis, not the design itself but rather how static they look compared to what they're doing with Guild Ball or the gorgeous Minis we're seeing in similar games like Aristeia! & Shadespire
im pretty sold on this game. it looks like a lot of fun i hope its more a boxed game than a traditional wargame.

I would like to know more about the 5 turns system. I understand you each get maximum of 5 turns and the game is over. That just seems short to me. Also, it is 'just' a 1vs1 game and nothing more, right? Like Memoir '44 or Battlelore?
Five turns means no sandbagging and the game is always decisive, first to five VPs always wins and someone always gets to 5 in 5 turns (the way they’re weighted 1,2,3,2,1). It puts pressure as you have to manage overextending and sometimes don’t want to score early.
It’s a 1v1 system but I’m sure it could easily accommodate team play as well with each player controlling a champion.
What are the exact die numbers?
Is there still somewhere to buy this, now that the KS is live? I don't want to wait a year to play :/

too pricey for me right now and Aristeia and Shadespire fill my "play on a hex board" need for now.
Hopefully with the game already playable the KS won't take long to ship to people.

Found it interesting, but kept getting annoyed by the mis-pronounciation of the Welsh name Rhodri, even if I was thrilled there was a Welsh name in there.
Looks interesting, but I dont get the 5-turn part. Do you each just get 5 turns and then the game is over? Seems like a very low amount, and a boring way to play a game.
the models kinda look really unspectacular... absolutely static.
I just saw this video and checked the kickstarter page. The KS minis have more action type poses, but I really prefer these static poses. If you know anyone with a set of the static poses let me know, I'd buy them!! (Can't find them anywhere... not even ebay :( )
Played this at Bonescon in the UK. Have to say, I did not enjoy it one bit. I found it clunky and unintuitive. I found the scaling of the models odd. I left the table pretty much bored. This was a big shame for me, I've been looking forward to this game for a while, but actually sitting down to play it has put me off forever. :(
Dark Souls is a beta board game, right? ... No. Well, maybe they will update incomplete and poor rules at least.
