Some people missed that in 05:55 when Draven threw a sword to Riven, he actually did that to cut the chain in order to give Riven a fair fight against him. You can see it in 06:31
It's also her own runeblade that she shattered after she deserted, which is also her weapon in the game, just a huge buster sword like Guts from Berserk. Love that for her
Also the Runeblade is a legendary weapon sought after in the sisterhood of war. Draven is a cocky mofo that’s why he was willing to give Riven the blade, to put on a good show.
Jhin is an interesting character and his teaser had the community going wild because only a few details were revealed. Ingame he's also one of those characters that are popular but generally doesn't feel like it's overtuned, his playstyle is based around his fourth attack doing incredible damage and he has a short cooldown/reload time after. Fun little detail, when you saw Camille's soldiers explode into colour that was most likely Jhin's view because in reality those would be explosions of blood and body parts.

14:19 The cool part about this frame it's that all the explotions are actually the guys who got stuck in the flower traps getting blowed up, since Jhin sees death as art. His weapon have 4 shots, being the 4th one the deadliest, so if you count in the scenes, he shot 3 times and the 4th are loaded and ready to fire, but instead he bows to her to hide the last shot and "end" his piano performance.

Cause Camille is there with a bunch of Enforcers! 18:16 Jhin is a VERY wanted man. A prolific serial killer. Camille is attempting to arrest him there.
The bow by Jhin for me has two meanings... 1) He bows because he treats all his works (killing) an art 2) Because he is obsessed with the number 4. In the game, his 4th attack is a guaranteed critical hit. If you look closely, he shot Camille 3 times and clearly missing her intentionally to make her go to where he wants her to be .. in front of his shoulder cannon (why he bows to aim it). Edit: Also, if you look closely, you will notice Jhin's gun changes color after the first 3 shots, signalling the 4th shot is a deadly one.

In his cinematic he shots bullets, but whenever it penetrates different people they display huge displays of art instead of blood splatter for example and their bodies look like beautiful artwork. Also you can clearly see any gore or blood related thing is turned into further art, cause he only sees the beauty in death and chaos. He’s like a dangerous psychopath/serial killer. Which are usually pretty intelligent people to get away with what they do.

Riven's story is probably one of my favorites, and since there are no other cinematics about her, I feel obligated to give an explanation of her lore She grew up as an orphaned farmer in Noxus. She didn't know much of what was going on in the world, but she always idolized the army, imagining the brave warriors fighting as a family to protect their country. Therefore, when she became of age, she enlisted in the army, training with incredible determination. Her superiors quickly noticed both her strength and skill in combat, so she was given the runic blade, a giant magic sword, both extremely strong and light at the same time, with the ability to shield its wielder from harm. She also became very close to a lot of her comrades in her warband, even referring to them as sisters. She had finaly made a family When the time came for her to join an actual war, it didn't exactly turn out to be a war to defend her own country. They were going overseas, to Ionia. She had heard they had employed the help of a certain Zaunite scientist. Riven grew increasingly suspicious. Why were they transporting so many chemicals and explosives? Why were they going to invade Ionia, who had done nothing to threaten Noxus? Riven just did what she had done all her life and continued to follow orders, despite the seed of doubt that was forming inside her. When they started their campaign in Ionia, it quickly became clear that the land itself did not welcome them there, throwing storm after storm at them. In the end, Riven's warband was separated from the others. As Ionian resistance fighters had discovered them, Riven called out for her allies, expecting help. However, the only thing she got was a flaming arrow headed straight for their wagon, and that's when she realized: her worst fears turned out to be true. She quickly drew her sword, being shielded by it while watching the arrow hit the explosives in the wagon. Then, everything went aflame. Noxians, Ionians, they all died gruesome deaths. In the flames, Riven could finally see the truth. Noxus was no great and benevolent force, it was a megalomaniac empire that would stop at nothing to increase its power. After the flames died down, Riven was the sole survivor in her unit. She did the only thing she could do at this point and walked away. She had to turn her back on her family, her friends, every single bond she had made in her life. Her memories of what happened after are hazy, but when she woke up the next morning, her blade was next to her, shattered into many pieces. However, it was clear that its magic was still active, so even though she hated it and everything it stood for, she was forced to take the blade with her, lest it fall into Noxian hands. With nothing to do and nobody to turn to, she began to wander Ionia, hoping she could find some way to forgive herself and find inner peace. Eventually, she reached a village, where an elderly couple took her in with open arms, even after realizing she was a Noxian, an enemy. She was overwhelmed by their kindness and hospitality, and decided to repay them by working at their farm, keeping a low profile to avoid any run-ins with Ionians who wouldn't take so kindly to a Noxian. Time passed. Riven thoroughly enjoyed her life and her new family, slowly learning the Ionian language. One day, however, while she was out in the fields, she spotted a bunch of figures moving out toward her. But it wasn't the Noxians coming to take her back. No, these people were Ionian. They claimed she had killed the village's elder. She submitted to them, unwilling to fight, and followed them into a courtroom, where she was told to give her side of the story. Used to life in Noxus, Riven was confused. They were going to hear her out and try to give her a fair punishment, and not just throw her into the arena? She told them she didn't remember killing any elder. The villagers showed her that their master had a piece of her blade sticking out of him when he died. Her memories of the night after she left Noxus began flooding back. She had asked the elder to destroy her blade, but when he did, it exploded into all those pieces, one of them hitting him in the neck. After touching the blade and feeling its destructive powers themselves, the villagers believed her story. She was sentenced to community service and forgiven for the accident that caused the master's death. Additionally, a certain pony-tailed swordsman is no longer suspected of being the killer. Riven was forgiven. As a Noxian, that was completely unheard of for her. But she decided to give back to the people that had shown her, a foreigner, an enemy, so much kindness and tolerance. She settled down, living a quiet life as a simple Ionian farmer. But just like all good things, this wouldn't last. Noxus never forgave her for deserting, but more importantly, they needed their toy back. Now, about a decade after the invasion began, they're about to get it back. One quiet day, Riven, standing in the fields, sees the all too familiar sight of figures approaching in the distance. This time, however, she knew what has happening. Her sisters had come back for her. She touched the hilt of her blade with her finger. The Ionians had lost so much to Noxus, and they had given her so much. So now, for the sake of her new family, she chose not to fight. She didn't want any more blood spilled on Ionian land, so she surrendered. Noxus was not going to grace her with a just trial or anything of the sort. She was thrown into the arena and condemned to fight for her life. And that is where the story ends, leading directly into the cinematic you just saw. Edit: Also, a small detail about the cinematic. When Draven threw that blade at Riven, he didn't try to kill her. He gave her her blade in order to make it a fair fight. You can see after he throws it, that it actually severed the chains, meaning Draven didn't miss; he hit his target perfectly.

Some lore stuff if you're interested : - The "charismatic" guy with a mask is named Jhin , he's a murderer who thinks killing is an art. He bowed to Camille (a character i can't tell too much about cause she may be in arcane season 2) - It is as you said a war between Ionia and Noxus but we don't know when , there have been severall ones between the two and this one is not the main one , since Yasuo was not in the main one. The other characters involved are Karma , Akali , Kennen and the main one Irelia , she was like the hero of the resistance during the first Noxian invasion. - The third one in the arena , it's definitly in Noxus. The an is named Draven , one of the bigger figures of Noxus empire and the white haired girl is Riven. She was in the Noxian army during the first Ionia invasion , but when she saw what Noxus did , even to their own people , she deserted. During this war , she killed Yauso's master. Yasuo was falsely accused of the murder cause it was caused by a "wind" attack , Riven can also use them. In the game they have many interactions when they're in the same game. Again the lore of Riven stopped when she deserted so we don't really know when this scene happened , the most probable theory is that she was caught by Noxus and thrown to fighting pitts as a punition for her desertion.
There is a trilogy of stories in which Noxus sends multiple soldiers, some with magical swords like Riven, to capture her and bring her back to Noxus. Awaken is set after these stories.

These cinematics most of the time are connected to the professional players and not that much to the lore but the music is genuinely amazing and it is worth watching. Maybe you could check it out when you run out of lore related content... Which I hope does not happen before Arcane S2!!!

Actually I'm not a league of legends player I'm not interested in the game at all but I loved the cinimatics way earlier then the realisation of arcane.
Jhin, the one wearing a theater mask, is a criminal psychopath who believes murder is art. He was trying to lure Camille onto the stage, exactly where he wants her to be. He is an artist, a performer. His masterpiece cannot be done off the stage. He fired 3 shots, saving his fourth. (This is his ult which is called Curtain Call where he can fire up to four shots with the fourth being the deadliest.) You can see his gun glowing when he bows. He's ready to shoot for the finale. The virtuoso, indeed.
As someone who has been playing LoL from the early days, I grew more tired of the game and more interested in the lore (back then there was no lore :v). Since the debut of Arcane I've been binged watching all the reaction of newcomers, I got bored after a few days of watching the same reaction from multiple youtubers, but something from your channel keep pulling me back for more :D Here's one subscribe, keep doing what're doing, best of wishes for u guys 👍

answering your questions 10:26 yes that's Jhin (Ionian), and yes he can play piano 10:44 that is Draven (Noxian) the Grand Executioner of Noxus, the region is Noxus, and Riven (Noxian) who has defected and now fights for Ionia after seeing the horrors that Singed unleashed on them during the war, Draven and Riven were childhood friends and grew up together, they would train together with Riven always gaining the upper hand in fights, the sword Draven throws at Riven is actually hers, shattered after she defected to cut her ties to Noxus. That arena is actually a high security prison where only that worst offenders of Noxus end up, and upon seeing Riven rise into it, Draven knows she's done something serious against Noxus but not quite what, and decides to fight her himself despite their friendship 11:21 that is Irelai (Ionian), yes it is Ionia 11:50 that is Camille (Piltovian), she is an agent of the law, that operates outside of it, kinda secret agent-like, her body is heavily augmented with hextech (she's actually over 80 years old) and is closely related to Caitlyn and Jayce, might show up in Arcane further down the road 13:00 you didn't ask about him but the big guy is Sion (Noxian) and yes this is the war between Noxus and Ionia 13:45 they are Karma (Ionian), the lady in the robes casting spells, and yes Akali (Ionian) running through 14:00 it's Yasuo (Ionian) of course and a few moments later Kennen (Yordle), the one spitting electricity everywhere, who has lived in and fought with Ionia for centuries 16:00 i'm assuming it was somewhere in Piltover/Zaun, otherwise Camille would have no need to be there as she is part of the police force there, but don't quote me on it 17:20 ah you wrapped back around to Kennen, see earlier ^^^ 17:40 and Sion, also up ^^^, this is what i get for typing it as the video plays 18:00 Riven story also up there ^^^ XD 18:25 Jhin likes to kill things, he's a very artsy person and to him there is beauty in death, nothing more beautiful in fact, and he travels the world just killing people to make beautiful art, there were already several dead people in the theatre, you mentioned an arm and asked who's it was earlier in the video, and yes he was probably luring Camille and her troops in to turn them into art as well. you can watch his trailer to see death as he sees it in his mind
Jhin the piano guy has a weapon that 4 shots loaded. And his 4th shot is the most powerful one. When he bows in the last scene we are seeing that he actually shows to the viewers his 4th shot. He is ready for it. And he is kinda maniac that sees killing as an art. You can watch the Jhin the Virtuoso trailer its cool.
I think people love this one the most because there are multiple shots with new champions coming to the rescue. Below is a champ list a brief description to help. Jhin- Artist, Virtuoso, Psychopath, Finds art and beauty in bloodshed. Camille- Piltover noble, Part human part robot, Improves herself with technology (think marvel nebula), Swords for legs, hookshots on hips. Draven- Noxus, Swinging swords, crazy, loves bloodshed. Riven- Sword, Fighter, Captive of Draven. Irelia- Ionia, Controls Blades Karma- Sheilder support, Saves Irelia from Sion smash, green magic. Sion- Noxus war leader, Fighter, Undead Akali- Ninja, uses disguise and mobility. Yasuo- Swordsman, Controls wind, Tornados Kennen- Yordle, Ninja, Electircal magic. If you don't know what yordles they are the furry people in the Pentakill video. Hope this helps!

14:06 You didn't mention this tiny yordle, but he's an important character. His name is Kennen. He is the leader of the ninja sect called "kinkou" in Ionia, which includes Shen, Akali and Zed. He is a powerful and important ninja yordle known as Akali's master who taught Akali the art of kinkou while in the kinkou school.
@@xRaXeRx they both are. The kenkou have 3 leaders, Shen is the eye of twilight, kennen is the fury of the tempest and Akali's mom is the fist if shadow.

My guess is that Camille could be the elderly lady from the council, probably severely wounded due to Jinx' attack I could see her requiring intensive treatment.
I think both of you have seen Camille before at one of Wild Rift cinematics that you two were react to it. Also, the women with the blades is Irelia, the women with some kind of magical power is Karma and the electric power ninja yordle is Kennen.
A quick context on Warriors. In the earliest days of League, before the "Great Lore Retconn", there was a Noxian invasion of Ionia within the game lore. It was a major lore piece which essentially set the stage for the old lore (The War Institute), and the resolution of the conflict was Noxus was allowed to keep the lands they took. This event, after the Retconn, seems to have been kept and explains why there are fights between Noxus and Ionia. While the war had been "resolved" there was still skirmishes and border fights. All the Ionian champions shown fought against the Noxian invasion and they were re-worked to reflect the tensions of Noxians living on Ionian land. Before the Retconn Riot had iconically made Noxus and Demacia antagonists and protagonists (respectively). Post-Retconn they put a more gray on both sides. Noxus is sort of a militaristic meritocracy, granting the lands they "conquer" the freedom to do as they wish with the promise their work will be awarded. Demacia, on the other hand, was turned essentially into a mage-phobic police state. They created a hypocrisy where Demacia has "mage-hunuters" who go around and look for mages and ultimately imprison them. The mage who helped Garen is Lux, his sister and both members of a family who served the King of Demacia for generations. The guy with the chains was Sylas, a mage whose was imprisoned as a child by Demacia and spent his entire life in prison.
My time has come: 1) Yes, that is Jhin. He's an artist, always seeking perfection in his performances. I have little doubt he can play piano, likely violin or cello as well. He does have a thing for the number four, and as music is counted in groupings of threes and fours... 2) Noxus, where Mel's from, the always hungry empire. Note the red and black colors of Noxus in the arena, as well as the ravens who clean up after the fights in more ways than one. The guy is Draven, former soldier turned fighter and owner of the pit. Few can challenge him; he was exicted at the chance to fight and show off his moves with a worthy opponent (which is why he returned Riven's broken runic sword before jumping down). 3) Irelia. She was a young weaver child when Noxus destroyed her home in the first invasion. She spun her dancing and magic into her blades, and as a young woman cut off the arm of the lead Noxian general (Swain, don't worry, he got his arm replaced and now wields [yes, wields] a demon name-dropped in the Bible) and pushed Noxus back. She leads the Ionian forces against Noxus to protect her home and for revenge, while Noxus continues trying to conquer Ionia for it's raw magic and resources.* 4) Camille. The strut is due to her hextech blade legs. She's essentially Piltover's Catwoman meets Lin Beifong, focused on keeping things under her control. She's from a powerful family and is very, very determined to keep her streets clean (if you catch my undercity drift). 5) No, Draven's spinny-ma-jig did not turn into Riven's sword. Short run down: Riven was a Noxian soldier during the Ionian invasion (see 3 and Irelia). She was a one woman army, known to Ionians as "the butcher". But unlike Swain and most of Noxus, Riven awoke to the atrocities she was committing. She sought redemption, her runic sword was shattered by an Ionian master who was killed in the act of "destroying" it, she had a thing with Yasuo (not like that but yes like that), then returned to Noxus and lives as a farmer trying to remain hidden because the blade cannot fall into the wrong hands. Guess who had it when she was captured for that spectacle fight? Draven. But only the super ego of Draven would throw back an ancient sword so he could have a worthy fight (think Vegeta). -Draven's weapons are giant spinning axes that he throws. That spinny-ma-jig was referencing them. -Draven is Darius' twin, yes, that Darius who slew the king in the Freljord and emancipated the slave girl. They were orphans, grew up in the streets of Noxus, became soldiers. Draven wanted more fame and glory so he joined the gladiators, Darius believes in Noxus so much he continued in the military, eventually becoming one of three leading Noxus. -Those three leaders are called the Trifarix/ Coucil of Three, and are Swain, Darius, and The Faceless (totally not LeBlanc, don't even worry about it). 6) "Is this Noxus vs Ionia?" The correct answer is "when is it not". *Add on here: Noxus is after Ionian magic. Why? You saw the Immortal Bastion in Arcane, the gigantic building Mel and Jayce were "casually" looking at, looks like Minas Morgul x the Sydney Opera House. The Immortal Bastion has been there forever, and holds countless and innumerable secrets. It's where Swain encountered the demon. But perhaps most damningly, it's where Mordekaiser is sealed. Remember the giant guitarist in Pentakill? That's Morde. He's an ancient warlord who was killed, decided death was boring, found a cult who wanted power and when they brought his spirit back to the mortal plane? He killed them. Then it happened again, his mortal body was defeated. Upon returning to Runeterra again he fashioned a body that wouldn't die, one made of the nigh indestructible black iron of Noxus. He conquered the Immortal Bastion and ruled from there for eons, demanding sacrifices and plaguing all of Valoran (the mainland continent of Runeterra; Ionia's an archipelago to the east.) He was defeated by a follower of his, LeBlanc, who along with Vladimir betrayed him and sealed him away within the Bastion itself. They then founded Noxus in the shadow of the Bastion, the people of which all know Mordekaiser already died twice and he _will_ return at some point. They have to be strong, they have to be on top of things, countless will die, but if they don't prepare and keep Mordekaiser from going Attack on Titan in Noxus? The whole world is doomed. That's why Noxian culture is all about expansion, taking resources, gaining more forces in their struggle. Ionia doesn't see it that way, the Ionian Vastaya who are dependent on wild magic even less so, and Noxus has this habit of demanding and conquering instead of diplomacy. tl;dr Mordekaiser is Sauron and Noxus is the Gondor inhabiting Mordor. (If you know the Shadow of Mordor series the crossovers are hilarious.) Or Mordekaiser is Fenrir/ Jormungandr/ Loki/ etc. and Noxus is preparing for Ragnarok in anyway they can. 7) "Is she kind of robotic almost?" Yes. Camille is a hextech cyborg. 8) The yordle is Kennan. He studied with the Kinkou order in Ionia, learning to channel lightning and becoming a core member. He plays like Sonic the Hedgehog meets Pikachu. 9) The giant flaming stomach guy is Sion, he's essentially a reanimated zombie hellbent on destruction, courtesy of The Black Rose (a secret cabal of Noxus totally not led by LeBlanc) and The Crimson Circle (a cult Vladimir formed when he broke away from The Black Rose, definitely not because LeBlanc turned him down and he was salty). Sion's always reanimated via Vlad's hemomancy and such when Noxus wants to use him; he killed the former Demacian king and wears his crown as a jaw. 10) More on Jhin: he's a serial killer. His vision of what art truly is aligns with Deidara from Naruto, beauty is in the moment of death. But Jhin isn't content on just enjoying death, he wants to create it and help everyone enjoy his artwork. He's the one who set up the concert hall in Piltover, luring Camille and her cronies in. He's the one who left the trap and drew his gun to shepherd and challenge Camille. He's the one who set off the smoke bombs and bowed to Camille, for the beauty of his artwork and to thank Camille for her part in it before she dies in the most fantastically crafted moment with him and all of her minions to witness. That was all him. 11) Yes, Yasuo created the tornado. He can manipulate wind with his sword (like he did in True Damage when he turned the fan the other way for Ekko's second verse). And more fun fact: He always wanted to be a musician, but his family demanded he study the blade. Then after shenanigans and some brother killing he lives life on the run. But in the alternate realities he creates the beats for K/DA and True Damage (as confirmed by Seraphine's blog). 12) Each champ is crafted and designed to be unique so you can tell at a glance who's coming after you in a team fight and what moves they have. They do that via silhouette, poses and items. That's why you can tell Viego from Sylas from Sett in an instant regardless of their skins or colors, even though they're all in the running for "tall dark and handsome with pants and abs". Viego hunches over as he walks, wielding his family's sword that killed and undead-ed him. Sylas leans forward, chains dragging behind. Sett stands tall and proud ready to JoJo anyone with a confident and easy gait. Pull up the models for each of them standing and you'll see what I mean, they could cosplay as each other without trying. But the design team carefully and intentionally makes every champ unique, to the point their splash art is immediately recognizable even when blurred (they use headshots for mini-map positions, you need to know who is where). To anyone who has made it this far, hope you enjoyed. You will NOT learn any of this by playing League of Legends. Each champ has voice lines and interactions that provide easter eggs and such in game, but the worldbuilding is done via stories in their bios. If you're like me and prefer story and lore, read up before you play. Then you'll understand the voice lines more and when you get a unique interaction (like Yasuo to Riven or the various ways Jinx and Vi interact) it will make sense. If you go in and play hoping to get any explanation? You won't get any. But you can always read stories, and the game isn't necessary (though knowing the champ abilities will enhance how you visualize the stories).
i don't know if anyone else has mentioned it, but jhin is a piltover serial killer. he sees murder as art, that's why everything he sees is beautiful and vibrant, but you have to understand that he's deranged, and even though we're seeing everything as vibrant and beautiful, that's how HE sees it. there's probably explosions of blood and grotesqueness going on from the traps those guards step in, but it's lovely in his eyes. the other woman you thought was robotic is camille. she's a super upper-class piltover enforcer from a prestigious house who fights to keep order and to especially make sure her house maintains its aristocracy rule (fyi, she probably has a pretty big chance of being in season 2 of arcane). she thinks human emotions get in the way of reason and has basically become devoid of emotion by roboticizing herself to the point of stoic cruelty, which is an odd dichotomy with jhin, who is both cruel but enraptures himself in a psychotic human emotion. love the reaction, and really happy you guys are enjoying the league universe as much as you are
AWAKEN is such a masterpiece of modern audio/visual storytelling.. Watch it again and look at how the animation flows with the music.. How Camile swings herself through the ceiling.. Karma's arm gestures with the violins.. Akali's bombs synced with the percussion rolls, everything is so perfect.. Riot Games animation and music department deserves more recognition.

That's Jhin on the piano. The scissor hands lady enhanced with hextech is Camile and she is from Piltover! The guy sitting in the Colosseum is Draven, an executioner, brother of Darius who you saw in the Noxus Tales of Runeterra video.. Irelia is from Ionia and that is the Ionia Noxus war!
Since his release, jhin it's one of the best designed characters in lol, i love how when you saw him for the 1st time you already know he is top notch Btw, what we see in the video it's the 2nd Noxian invasion, there is a high chance that we see the 1st during arcane 2 because, (minor spoilers) there is a certain zaunite scientific who will be part of it
You'll love Jhin. He is one of the best characters in LoL for his design and lore. He's a killer but an artist first and foremost. He is murderer, but sees the deaths of his victims as pieces of art. "I never hurt anyone. Its is the *performance* that kill" - is once of his voice lines in game. I suggest you give the teaser for Jhin a watch, its shows what its looks like when people die in the eyes of Jhin.
Fun fact: Jihn sees all his killing as art cuz he's a psychopath, but the traps he uses aren't magical at all. So that means there's a good chance that the cool frame where he bows down and all the purple particles are flying around, that's probably just smoke and bloodsplatter, just seen from Jihn's point of view.

The Zed comics prove this thinking is wrong, he does put illusion magic in his weapons to make the victims have those artistic figures, particles, etc. It's just an illusion tho, Zed, Shen and Kayn stated that when they touched the golden blood it soon turned to red again for example.

Not sure if this has been mentioned in the past but one of my favorite things about these cinematics is they always show off the character using their abilities in game, so almost all of these cool things that the characters are doing, are exactly what their characters do in the game. Examples are akalis smoke screen, Jhins mines, rivens headbut on draven, Camille grappling to the ceiling etc. even in the warriors video when Sylas created that magical sword, it wasn’t a random sword, that was an exact copy of Garens sword who he was beating up, his magic is to steal other characters ultimate abilities in game. Small little detail in this one is when Camille is strutting in, when she blinks her eyes change colors (you were right, she is very much robotic) well in game she has an adaptive shield, depending on what damage type the OTHER champion that hits her is, she will gain a shield specific to that damage type, and it’ll be orange or blue. So if she gets hit by physical damage, she will get a small physical only shield that’s orange, same for magic damage. I assume her body was trying to figure out what the correct choice for the shield was and that’s why her eyes were changing colors quickly as she analyzed. Really really hope she is in season 2 of arcane.
Just some little fun facts for you guys , the guy in the Noxus fight pit is Draven , he is Darius brother ) and riven is here because she deserted after the first ionian vs noxus war , the yordle pikachu vibes is Kennen ( a ninja of Ionian like akali and Shen who u saw in akali's cinematic) and the big noxus guy is Sion , an ancient Noxus warrior who's back to life because he was freaking good at genocide basically , and jhin (in the game) as a mechanic where his 4th shot deal a lot of damage , in the cinematic he shot 3 times then bowed and u can see he as the gun loaded with the fourth bullet , he just love making a beautiful scene for the last act ( he actually as a trailer if u guys want to know more about him) and u guessed right most of the important things , ur getting really good at this lore thing ! as always love from france , keep it up . Baguette out.
So in the game, Jhin's 4th auto attack does loads of damage because he is obsessed with the number 4 and in the cinematic he fired 3 shots which means his next shot will do a lot of damage. There is a comic set after this where Jhin is alive so we can assume that either he hit Camille (The scissor legs lady) and really hurt her or he missed but he escaped.
Yeah although awaken has better animation but warriors had better tension building/story telling, you could feel the goosebumps and anticipatio building up.
Each region has a color theme you can pretty much reliably use to determine a champion's original location. -Ionia is silver, pinks and green. -Piltover is shiny copper, steel. -Zaun is dirty copper, but with green. -Noxus is red and black. -Demacia is white, gold and blue. -Bandle City is fluffy. -Shadow Isles is black and blue-green. -Bilgewater is wood and iron and sea theme.
Seems like everyone's got you more than covered with the lore stuff, so all I'll do is ask/recommend that you do Call of Power. It's pretty insane, shows lots of characters, and the main one is probably one that's going to be very relevant in the shows they do. Love your reactions.
1. It is Jhin, and he is able to play the piano, he is an insane (literally maniac) artist. An Ionian serial killer, with a past nickname The Golden Demon. He is obssesed with art and killing, and mixes them. He is also extremely clever, and by his bow you can know that he expected this outcome and it was going accorsing to his plan. 2. It is Noxus, the character with the spinning axes is Draven, Darius' brother. Draven likes to put on a show and in Noxus one of the ideals says that power is all you need, so he is managing a fighting pit. He was feeling bored watching all those weak fries fighting until Riven came. He actually threw Riven's own sword at her to make the fight entertaining, he didnt want to hurt her with it. 3. The Ionian girl is Irelia, the war happening is the Noxus invasion. The tanned mage is Karma, a vessel with a deity protecting Ionia in it. The lightning wielding hamster-like yordle is Kennen, he is in the same ninja order with Akali and Shen. The giant grey man is Sion, a literal zombie brought back by the Noxus to fight over and over. 4. Police woman with glowing eyes is Camille, a piltovan, she came to arrest Jhin but in the end he escaped after putting on quite a show. She is also heavily modified by technology, her legs are blades.
To start Awaken is focused on the conflicts of the champions from Ionia, Noxus, and Piltover/Zaun. And yes Ionia is under attack by Noxus. Irelia the women who dances with her blade, leads her people as she is the only one capable of fighting as most of the Ionians which are her people are inexperienced with fighting. Riven the muscular women who wields a sword is an exile, she originally works for Noxus but after seeing the effects of war she broke her blade and sworn that she will aviod conflict and fighting and only use her blade when needed, this is why she isn't using her blade to hurt Draven. Draven is the guy who fought Riven, he is the brother of Darius, and he is incharge of the brawl arena basically the pitfighting arena. Camille the AOT inspired champion is an assassin and probably assigned or paid to kill Jhin. And yes she is a cyborg and she is powered by Hextech. Jhin is a virtuoso and is obsessed with perfection that he killed a lot of people and considers killing an art. And yes he is obsessed with the number 4. Sion is a war hero from the past, he is revered by Noxus and made him the way he is, he now works for Noxus as a brute monster capable of killing hundreds of people. There is still a lot of champions featured which were Akali, Karma, Yasuo, and Kennen but I think you should just watch lore readings by NECRIT, he's videos are great and good for people curious to know the story of Runeterra. I just found your channel and I'm a big Arcane fan too, I found out about Lol in later 2018 when KDA debuted and I'm soo happy that more and more people are intrested in the stories of Runeterra, and I love your reactions and discussions about it. Jhin (the flamboyant piano player) is definitely one of the League communities favorite characters. He is a psychopathic artist who sees his acts of murder as "creating beauty and perfection." He is actually from Ionia and has ties to Shen, Akali, Zed, and Kennen. Essentially in the lore he was rescued from prison by a Noxian cabal who uses him as their "hand" in the world to assassinate targets....but he cannot stop pursing his "art" on the side. In this cinematic he can be seen in a music hall/theater playing the piano with his traps already laid around in wait for someone to arrive. That someone is Camille and her task force. Camille is a Piltover noble with big bucks and an enemy to Caitlyn because she sort of acts like a vigilante. Imagine an evil cyborg female batman who flies around with omni directional zip-lines and has replaced her legs with giant scissor blades. The reason this is interesting is BECAUSE Camille is from Piltover. They are in a theater hall. And in ARCANE, there is a scene where Jayce and Mel are in the balconies of a theater watching a play being performed by a talented musician... This is speculated to possibly be Jhin, the Noxian-hired assassin. *Highly recommend checking out his "theme." Riot Music team releases a theme with each character to color their lore a bit more. Jhin's theme is absolutely "hectic" as yall would say. "From carnage I bloom, like a flower in the dawn." -Jhin. - Draven is the guy spinning the knife in the fighting pits. That is Noxus. - Irelia is the beautiful Ionian woman. She controls the blades psychically. She's just another insanely badass character in the roster.
Fun little side detail - the explosions of purple and confetti are actually blood and viscera. Jhin simply sees the mutilation of his enemies as beautiful art. I got the notification that this was uploaded and immediately dropped what I was doing. Keep them coming, guys!

In Jhin’s mind, he does indeed see his atrocities as art. Other lore gurus have interpreted the scene as such so carry on.
I know Camille is a hextech cyborg of house Ferros in Piltover. I remember somewhere that she's like a private agent(?), or someone that you hire like a mercenary or something to do stuff.
Jhin is regarded by the community as a perfect character in all fronts. Gameplay, design, and lore. He's essentially a serial killer obsessed with the number 4 and sees killing as a LITERAL artform. The circus explosions that you see in the video are actually from Jhin's POV that's why its so beautiful. But if you were normal all you'd see is guts, blood, and gore. He's insane basically and like a true artist he adds suspense and drama to his murders, making sure they're perfect for his.... performance. If you're interested in how his gameplay reflects this, the basic way to explain it is all shooting characters in league have no reload mechanic except him, he only has 4 shots before he reload with his 4th being the strongest. He has a grenade that bounces 4 times. Traps that reveal for 4 seconds. And an ultimate ability with 4 shots but bigger. You also play him like an obsessed artist, making sure everything is perfect before you score a kill. Another Easter egg: if you connect the letters:JHIN on your phone keyboard it'll form a number 4.
What's really cool is the Jhin part is a side story of the comic for Shen and Zed. You should take a look at them, they're free on the website and made by marvel.
Jhin is my all time favorite champion (Mask guy). He’s a mass murderer. He’s very much similar to the Riddler, but finds his murders to be pieces of art. He’s actually from Ionia, but the last comic had him in Piltover, which is where this scene is taking place. He also has a strange addiction to the number 4. Also, the lass after him is Camile, who has a very high chance of being in next season of Arcane just due to her lore. Her house might end up claiming a seat at piltover if any of the other house leaders were killed in the blast.
The guy from the gladiator ring is Draven, Noxian and Darius (from tales of runeterra) younger brother. He is an executioner and likes to put on a show (enjoys the crowd cheering) He allows prisoners to fight and earn their release

The guy spinning the blades and fighting Riven is Draven, the Executioner of Noxus. The guy playing the piano is Jhin, the Performer, loosely based on V for Vendetta. The strutting lady is Camille, the Steel Shadow (an enforcer of Piltover).
Most of your questions are answered :-) Draven (the "master" of the arena) isn't throwing his knife. You can see several times a sword at the wall behind him (not that good visible, for example 4:48). This sword is characteristic for Riven ingame. So this actually is the origin scene of Riven. Draven btw is the brother of the big guy with the huge axe you saw in other videos (the one who killed the king to save the child/slave). The Bow-Down-scene is legendary, such a masterpiece. Ingame he can shoot just 4 times, before he has to reload for a longer time. 3 normal shots and one very strong last shot. When he's bowing down, you can see his weapon in his back starts to glow red, which means he prepares his 4th shot (against camille). Jhin is maybe (also ingame) one of the best character designs in LoL, for example: Jhin finally killed 4 really important main characters in the League of Legend-Lore, but i won't spoiler here, because you know some of them. Jhin fires his 4 shots in a Four quarter beat (His firespeed can't be changed which is different to all other champions in LoL, which attacks faster with levels and items). If you tip J H I N with just one finger on your keyboard, you're doing the same move as drawing a "4". The number 4 is related to death in the japanese language (he's a professional killer). His main theme is separated in 4 parts, the 1st part is the chase, the second is the hunt, the third is the kill and the forth is the satisfaction and the artistic beauty of the kill. Jhin is also Ionian so if they did make a series based in Ionia it’d be really cool seeing him in it as a potential antagonist / wandering psycho murderer
Awaken is easily one of my favourites, some of the visuals in this are truly beautiful! The Jhin (piano) bow with the blue and purple everywhere while Camille (colourful eyes) flies down to him is *chef's kiss*! Also, Sion is such a badass, so intimidating being like 10 feet tall. Draven (with the spinning axes) is so incredibly detailed and his laugh is great! P.S. Kennen (lightning yordle) is always great to see.

The first "sword" tossed to break the chains from Riven is her own sword, that is broken. Draven follows to engage her in an entertaining fight. I also would like to call your attention to Kennen, the little ball of electricity.

Jhin is an interesting character and his teaser had the community going wild because only a few details were revealed. Ingame he's also one of those characters that are popular but generally doesn't feel like it's overtuned, his playstyle is based around his fourth attack doing incredible damage and he has a short cooldown/reload time after.
Fun little detail, when you saw Camille's soldiers explode into colour that was most likely Jhin's view because in reality those would be explosions of blood and body parts.

14:19 The cool part about this frame it's that all the explotions are actually the guys who got stuck in the flower traps getting blowed up, since Jhin sees death as art. His weapon have 4 shots, being the 4th one the deadliest, so if you count in the scenes, he shot 3 times and the 4th are loaded and ready to fire, but instead he bows to her to hide the last shot and "end" his piano performance.

The bow by Jhin for me has two meanings...
1) He bows because he treats all his works (killing) an art
2) Because he is obsessed with the number 4. In the game, his 4th attack is a guaranteed critical hit. If you look closely, he shot Camille 3 times and clearly missing her intentionally to make her go to where he wants her to be .. in front of his shoulder cannon (why he bows to aim it).
Edit: Also, if you look closely, you will notice Jhin's gun changes color after the first 3 shots, signalling the 4th shot is a deadly one.

In his cinematic he shots bullets, but whenever it penetrates different people they display huge displays of art instead of blood splatter for example and their bodies look like beautiful artwork. Also you can clearly see any gore or blood related thing is turned into further art, cause he only sees the beauty in death and chaos. He’s like a dangerous psychopath/serial killer. Which are usually pretty intelligent people to get away with what they do.

Riven's story is probably one of my favorites, and since there are no other cinematics about her, I feel obligated to give an explanation of her lore
She grew up as an orphaned farmer in Noxus. She didn't know much of what was going on in the world, but she always idolized the army, imagining the brave warriors fighting as a family to protect their country. Therefore, when she became of age, she enlisted in the army, training with incredible determination. Her superiors quickly noticed both her strength and skill in combat, so she was given the runic blade, a giant magic sword, both extremely strong and light at the same time, with the ability to shield its wielder from harm. She also became very close to a lot of her comrades in her warband, even referring to them as sisters. She had finaly made a family
When the time came for her to join an actual war, it didn't exactly turn out to be a war to defend her own country. They were going overseas, to Ionia. She had heard they had employed the help of a certain Zaunite scientist. Riven grew increasingly suspicious. Why were they transporting so many chemicals and explosives? Why were they going to invade Ionia, who had done nothing to threaten Noxus? Riven just did what she had done all her life and continued to follow orders, despite the seed of doubt that was forming inside her.
When they started their campaign in Ionia, it quickly became clear that the land itself did not welcome them there, throwing storm after storm at them. In the end, Riven's warband was separated from the others. As Ionian resistance fighters had discovered them, Riven called out for her allies, expecting help. However, the only thing she got was a flaming arrow headed straight for their wagon, and that's when she realized: her worst fears turned out to be true. She quickly drew her sword, being shielded by it while watching the arrow hit the explosives in the wagon. Then, everything went aflame. Noxians, Ionians, they all died gruesome deaths. In the flames, Riven could finally see the truth. Noxus was no great and benevolent force, it was a megalomaniac empire that would stop at nothing to increase its power.
After the flames died down, Riven was the sole survivor in her unit. She did the only thing she could do at this point and walked away. She had to turn her back on her family, her friends, every single bond she had made in her life. Her memories of what happened after are hazy, but when she woke up the next morning, her blade was next to her, shattered into many pieces. However, it was clear that its magic was still active, so even though she hated it and everything it stood for, she was forced to take the blade with her, lest it fall into Noxian hands. With nothing to do and nobody to turn to, she began to wander Ionia, hoping she could find some way to forgive herself and find inner peace. Eventually, she reached a village, where an elderly couple took her in with open arms, even after realizing she was a Noxian, an enemy. She was overwhelmed by their kindness and hospitality, and decided to repay them by working at their farm, keeping a low profile to avoid any run-ins with Ionians who wouldn't take so kindly to a Noxian.
Time passed. Riven thoroughly enjoyed her life and her new family, slowly learning the Ionian language. One day, however, while she was out in the fields, she spotted a bunch of figures moving out toward her. But it wasn't the Noxians coming to take her back. No, these people were Ionian. They claimed she had killed the village's elder. She submitted to them, unwilling to fight, and followed them into a courtroom, where she was told to give her side of the story. Used to life in Noxus, Riven was confused. They were going to hear her out and try to give her a fair punishment, and not just throw her into the arena? She told them she didn't remember killing any elder. The villagers showed her that their master had a piece of her blade sticking out of him when he died. Her memories of the night after she left Noxus began flooding back. She had asked the elder to destroy her blade, but when he did, it exploded into all those pieces, one of them hitting him in the neck. After touching the blade and feeling its destructive powers themselves, the villagers believed her story. She was sentenced to community service and forgiven for the accident that caused the master's death. Additionally, a certain pony-tailed swordsman is no longer suspected of being the killer.
Riven was forgiven. As a Noxian, that was completely unheard of for her. But she decided to give back to the people that had shown her, a foreigner, an enemy, so much kindness and tolerance. She settled down, living a quiet life as a simple Ionian farmer. But just like all good things, this wouldn't last. Noxus never forgave her for deserting, but more importantly, they needed their toy back. Now, about a decade after the invasion began, they're about to get it back.
One quiet day, Riven, standing in the fields, sees the all too familiar sight of figures approaching in the distance. This time, however, she knew what has happening. Her sisters had come back for her. She touched the hilt of her blade with her finger. The Ionians had lost so much to Noxus, and they had given her so much. So now, for the sake of her new family, she chose not to fight. She didn't want any more blood spilled on Ionian land, so she surrendered. Noxus was not going to grace her with a just trial or anything of the sort. She was thrown into the arena and condemned to fight for her life. And that is where the story ends, leading directly into the cinematic you just saw.
Edit: Also, a small detail about the cinematic. When Draven threw that blade at Riven, he didn't try to kill her. He gave her her blade in order to make it a fair fight. You can see after he throws it, that it actually severed the chains, meaning Draven didn't miss; he hit his target perfectly.

Some lore stuff if you're interested :
- The "charismatic" guy with a mask is named Jhin , he's a murderer who thinks killing is an art. He bowed to Camille (a character i can't tell too much about cause she may be in arcane season 2)
- It is as you said a war between Ionia and Noxus but we don't know when , there have been severall ones between the two and this one is not the main one , since Yasuo was not in the main one.
The other characters involved are Karma , Akali , Kennen and the main one Irelia , she was like the hero of the resistance during the first Noxian invasion.
- The third one in the arena , it's definitly in Noxus. The an is named Draven , one of the bigger figures of Noxus empire and the white haired girl is Riven.
She was in the Noxian army during the first Ionia invasion , but when she saw what Noxus did , even to their own people , she deserted.
During this war , she killed Yauso's master. Yasuo was falsely accused of the murder cause it was caused by a "wind" attack , Riven can also use them. In the game they have many interactions when they're in the same game.
Again the lore of Riven stopped when she deserted so we don't really know when this scene happened , the most probable theory is that she was caught by Noxus and thrown to fighting pitts as a punition for her desertion.
There is a trilogy of stories in which Noxus sends multiple soldiers, some with magical swords like Riven, to capture her and bring her back to Noxus. Awaken is set after these stories.

Jhin, the one wearing a theater mask, is a criminal psychopath who believes murder is art. He was trying to lure Camille onto the stage, exactly where he wants her to be. He is an artist, a performer. His masterpiece cannot be done off the stage. He fired 3 shots, saving his fourth. (This is his ult which is called Curtain Call where he can fire up to four shots with the fourth being the deadliest.) You can see his gun glowing when he bows. He's ready to shoot for the finale. The virtuoso, indeed.

As someone who has been playing LoL from the early days, I grew more tired of the game and more interested in the lore (back then there was no lore :v). Since the debut of Arcane I've been binged watching all the reaction of newcomers, I got bored after a few days of watching the same reaction from multiple youtubers, but something from your channel keep pulling me back for more :D

10:44 that is Draven (Noxian) the Grand Executioner of Noxus, the region is Noxus, and Riven (Noxian) who has defected and now fights for Ionia after seeing the horrors that Singed unleashed on them during the war, Draven and Riven were childhood friends and grew up together, they would train together with Riven always gaining the upper hand in fights, the sword Draven throws at Riven is actually hers, shattered after she defected to cut her ties to Noxus. That arena is actually a high security prison where only that worst offenders of Noxus end up, and upon seeing Riven rise into it, Draven knows she's done something serious against Noxus but not quite what, and decides to fight her himself despite their friendship

Jhin the piano guy has a weapon that 4 shots loaded. And his 4th shot is the most powerful one. When he bows in the last scene we are seeing that he actually shows to the viewers his 4th shot. He is ready for it. And he is kinda maniac that sees killing as an art. You can watch the Jhin the Virtuoso trailer its cool.
I think people love this one the most because there are multiple shots with new champions coming to the rescue. Below is a champ list a brief description to help.

14:06 You didn't mention this tiny yordle, but he's an important character. His name is Kennen. He is the leader of the ninja sect called "kinkou" in Ionia, which includes Shen, Akali and Zed. He is a powerful and important ninja yordle known as Akali's master who taught Akali the art of kinkou while in the kinkou school.
Kennen is not the leader, Shen is.
He's what heimerdiner is for the piltovan inventors, but for the ninjas!
They were at the kinkou but Akali and Zed have since left and made thier way without them(seperatly)

I think both of you have seen Camille before at one of Wild Rift cinematics that you two were react to it. Also, the women with the blades is Irelia, the women with some kind of magical power is Karma and the electric power ninja yordle is Kennen.
A quick context on Warriors. In the earliest days of League, before the "Great Lore Retconn", there was a Noxian invasion of Ionia within the game lore. It was a major lore piece which essentially set the stage for the old lore (The War Institute), and the resolution of the conflict was Noxus was allowed to keep the lands they took. This event, after the Retconn, seems to have been kept and explains why there are fights between Noxus and Ionia. While the war had been "resolved" there was still skirmishes and border fights. All the Ionian champions shown fought against the Noxian invasion and they were re-worked to reflect the tensions of Noxians living on Ionian land.
Before the Retconn Riot had iconically made Noxus and Demacia antagonists and protagonists (respectively). Post-Retconn they put a more gray on both sides. Noxus is sort of a militaristic meritocracy, granting the lands they "conquer" the freedom to do as they wish with the promise their work will be awarded. Demacia, on the other hand, was turned essentially into a mage-phobic police state. They created a hypocrisy where Demacia has "mage-hunuters" who go around and look for mages and ultimately imprison them. The mage who helped Garen is Lux, his sister and both members of a family who served the King of Demacia for generations. The guy with the chains was Sylas, a mage whose was imprisoned as a child by Demacia and spent his entire life in prison.
My time has come:
1) Yes, that is Jhin. He's an artist, always seeking perfection in his performances. I have little doubt he can play piano, likely violin or cello as well. He does have a thing for the number four, and as music is counted in groupings of threes and fours...
2) Noxus, where Mel's from, the always hungry empire. Note the red and black colors of Noxus in the arena, as well as the ravens who clean up after the fights in more ways than one. The guy is Draven, former soldier turned fighter and owner of the pit. Few can challenge him; he was exicted at the chance to fight and show off his moves with a worthy opponent (which is why he returned Riven's broken runic sword before jumping down).
3) Irelia. She was a young weaver child when Noxus destroyed her home in the first invasion. She spun her dancing and magic into her blades, and as a young woman cut off the arm of the lead Noxian general (Swain, don't worry, he got his arm replaced and now wields [yes, wields] a demon name-dropped in the Bible) and pushed Noxus back. She leads the Ionian forces against Noxus to protect her home and for revenge, while Noxus continues trying to conquer Ionia for it's raw magic and resources.*
4) Camille. The strut is due to her hextech blade legs. She's essentially Piltover's Catwoman meets Lin Beifong, focused on keeping things under her control. She's from a powerful family and is very, very determined to keep her streets clean (if you catch my undercity drift).
5) No, Draven's spinny-ma-jig did not turn into Riven's sword. Short run down: Riven was a Noxian soldier during the Ionian invasion (see 3 and Irelia). She was a one woman army, known to Ionians as "the butcher". But unlike Swain and most of Noxus, Riven awoke to the atrocities she was committing. She sought redemption, her runic sword was shattered by an Ionian master who was killed in the act of "destroying" it, she had a thing with Yasuo (not like that but yes like that), then returned to Noxus and lives as a farmer trying to remain hidden because the blade cannot fall into the wrong hands. Guess who had it when she was captured for that spectacle fight? Draven. But only the super ego of Draven would throw back an ancient sword so he could have a worthy fight (think Vegeta).
-Draven's weapons are giant spinning axes that he throws. That spinny-ma-jig was referencing them.
-Draven is Darius' twin, yes, that Darius who slew the king in the Freljord and emancipated the slave girl. They were orphans, grew up in the streets of Noxus, became soldiers. Draven wanted more fame and glory so he joined the gladiators, Darius believes in Noxus so much he continued in the military, eventually becoming one of three leading Noxus.
-Those three leaders are called the Trifarix/ Coucil of Three, and are Swain, Darius, and The Faceless (totally not LeBlanc, don't even worry about it).
6) "Is this Noxus vs Ionia?" The correct answer is "when is it not".
*Add on here: Noxus is after Ionian magic. Why? You saw the Immortal Bastion in Arcane, the gigantic building Mel and Jayce were "casually" looking at, looks like Minas Morgul x the Sydney Opera House. The Immortal Bastion has been there forever, and holds countless and innumerable secrets. It's where Swain encountered the demon. But perhaps most damningly, it's where Mordekaiser is sealed. Remember the giant guitarist in Pentakill? That's Morde. He's an ancient warlord who was killed, decided death was boring, found a cult who wanted power and when they brought his spirit back to the mortal plane? He killed them. Then it happened again, his mortal body was defeated. Upon returning to Runeterra again he fashioned a body that wouldn't die, one made of the nigh indestructible black iron of Noxus. He conquered the Immortal Bastion and ruled from there for eons, demanding sacrifices and plaguing all of Valoran (the mainland continent of Runeterra; Ionia's an archipelago to the east.) He was defeated by a follower of his, LeBlanc, who along with Vladimir betrayed him and sealed him away within the Bastion itself. They then founded Noxus in the shadow of the Bastion, the people of which all know Mordekaiser already died twice and he _will_ return at some point. They have to be strong, they have to be on top of things, countless will die, but if they don't prepare and keep Mordekaiser from going Attack on Titan in Noxus? The whole world is doomed. That's why Noxian culture is all about expansion, taking resources, gaining more forces in their struggle. Ionia doesn't see it that way, the Ionian Vastaya who are dependent on wild magic even less so, and Noxus has this habit of demanding and conquering instead of diplomacy.
tl;dr Mordekaiser is Sauron and Noxus is the Gondor inhabiting Mordor. (If you know the Shadow of Mordor series the crossovers are hilarious.) Or Mordekaiser is Fenrir/ Jormungandr/ Loki/ etc. and Noxus is preparing for Ragnarok in anyway they can.
7) "Is she kind of robotic almost?" Yes. Camille is a hextech cyborg.
8) The yordle is Kennan. He studied with the Kinkou order in Ionia, learning to channel lightning and becoming a core member. He plays like Sonic the Hedgehog meets Pikachu.
9) The giant flaming stomach guy is Sion, he's essentially a reanimated zombie hellbent on destruction, courtesy of The Black Rose (a secret cabal of Noxus totally not led by LeBlanc) and The Crimson Circle (a cult Vladimir formed when he broke away from The Black Rose, definitely not because LeBlanc turned him down and he was salty). Sion's always reanimated via Vlad's hemomancy and such when Noxus wants to use him; he killed the former Demacian king and wears his crown as a jaw.
10) More on Jhin: he's a serial killer. His vision of what art truly is aligns with Deidara from Naruto, beauty is in the moment of death. But Jhin isn't content on just enjoying death, he wants to create it and help everyone enjoy his artwork. He's the one who set up the concert hall in Piltover, luring Camille and her cronies in. He's the one who left the trap and drew his gun to shepherd and challenge Camille. He's the one who set off the smoke bombs and bowed to Camille, for the beauty of his artwork and to thank Camille for her part in it before she dies in the most fantastically crafted moment with him and all of her minions to witness. That was all him.
11) Yes, Yasuo created the tornado. He can manipulate wind with his sword (like he did in True Damage when he turned the fan the other way for Ekko's second verse). And more fun fact: He always wanted to be a musician, but his family demanded he study the blade. Then after shenanigans and some brother killing he lives life on the run. But in the alternate realities he creates the beats for K/DA and True Damage (as confirmed by Seraphine's blog).
12) Each champ is crafted and designed to be unique so you can tell at a glance who's coming after you in a team fight and what moves they have. They do that via silhouette, poses and items. That's why you can tell Viego from Sylas from Sett in an instant regardless of their skins or colors, even though they're all in the running for "tall dark and handsome with pants and abs". Viego hunches over as he walks, wielding his family's sword that killed and undead-ed him. Sylas leans forward, chains dragging behind. Sett stands tall and proud ready to JoJo anyone with a confident and easy gait. Pull up the models for each of them standing and you'll see what I mean, they could cosplay as each other without trying. But the design team carefully and intentionally makes every champ unique, to the point their splash art is immediately recognizable even when blurred (they use headshots for mini-map positions, you need to know who is where).
To anyone who has made it this far, hope you enjoyed. You will NOT learn any of this by playing League of Legends. Each champ has voice lines and interactions that provide easter eggs and such in game, but the worldbuilding is done via stories in their bios. If you're like me and prefer story and lore, read up before you play. Then you'll understand the voice lines more and when you get a unique interaction (like Yasuo to Riven or the various ways Jinx and Vi interact) it will make sense. If you go in and play hoping to get any explanation? You won't get any. But you can always read stories, and the game isn't necessary (though knowing the champ abilities will enhance how you visualize the stories).

i don't know if anyone else has mentioned it, but jhin is a piltover serial killer. he sees murder as art, that's why everything he sees is beautiful and vibrant, but you have to understand that he's deranged, and even though we're seeing everything as vibrant and beautiful, that's how HE sees it. there's probably explosions of blood and grotesqueness going on from the traps those guards step in, but it's lovely in his eyes.
the other woman you thought was robotic is camille. she's a super upper-class piltover enforcer from a prestigious house who fights to keep order and to especially make sure her house maintains its aristocracy rule (fyi, she probably has a pretty big chance of being in season 2 of arcane). she thinks human emotions get in the way of reason and has basically become devoid of emotion by roboticizing herself to the point of stoic cruelty, which is an odd dichotomy with jhin, who is both cruel but enraptures himself in a psychotic human emotion.

AWAKEN is such a masterpiece of modern audio/visual storytelling.. Watch it again and look at how the animation flows with the music.. How Camile swings herself through the ceiling.. Karma's arm gestures with the violins.. Akali's bombs synced with the percussion rolls, everything is so perfect.. Riot Games animation and music department deserves more recognition.

That's Jhin on the piano. The scissor hands lady enhanced with hextech is Camile and she is from Piltover! The guy sitting in the Colosseum is Draven, an executioner, brother of Darius who you saw in the Noxus Tales of Runeterra video.. Irelia is from Ionia and that is the Ionia Noxus war!

You'll love Jhin. He is one of the best characters in LoL for his design and lore. He's a killer but an artist first and foremost. He is murderer, but sees the deaths of his victims as pieces of art. "I never hurt anyone. Its is the *performance* that kill" - is once of his voice lines in game. I suggest you give the teaser for Jhin a watch, its shows what its looks like when people die in the eyes of Jhin.

Fun fact: Jihn sees all his killing as art cuz he's a psychopath, but the traps he uses aren't magical at all. So that means there's a good chance that the cool frame where he bows down and all the purple particles are flying around, that's probably just smoke and bloodsplatter, just seen from Jihn's point of view.

The Zed comics prove this thinking is wrong, he does put illusion magic in his weapons to make the victims have those artistic figures, particles, etc. It's just an illusion tho, Zed, Shen and Kayn stated that when they touched the golden blood it soon turned to red again for example.
Im pretty sure in game Jhin's traps deal magic damage, but lore wise i don't know it it matters.

Not sure if this has been mentioned in the past but one of my favorite things about these cinematics is they always show off the character using their abilities in game, so almost all of these cool things that the characters are doing, are exactly what their characters do in the game. Examples are akalis smoke screen, Jhins mines, rivens headbut on draven, Camille grappling to the ceiling etc. even in the warriors video when Sylas created that magical sword, it wasn’t a random sword, that was an exact copy of Garens sword who he was beating up, his magic is to steal other characters ultimate abilities in game.
Small little detail in this one is when Camille is strutting in, when she blinks her eyes change colors (you were right, she is very much robotic) well in game she has an adaptive shield, depending on what damage type the OTHER champion that hits her is, she will gain a shield specific to that damage type, and it’ll be orange or blue. So if she gets hit by physical damage, she will get a small physical only shield that’s orange, same for magic damage. I assume her body was trying to figure out what the correct choice for the shield was and that’s why her eyes were changing colors quickly as she analyzed. Really really hope she is in season 2 of arcane.
Just some little fun facts for you guys , the guy in the Noxus fight pit is Draven , he is Darius brother ) and riven is here because she deserted after the first ionian vs noxus war , the yordle pikachu vibes is Kennen ( a ninja of Ionian like akali and Shen who u saw in akali's cinematic) and the big noxus guy is Sion , an ancient Noxus warrior who's back to life because he was freaking good at genocide basically , and jhin (in the game) as a mechanic where his 4th shot deal a lot of damage , in the cinematic he shot 3 times then bowed and u can see he as the gun loaded with the fourth bullet , he just love making a beautiful scene for the last act ( he actually as a trailer if u guys want to know more about him) and u guessed right most of the important things , ur getting really good at this lore thing ! as always love from france , keep it up . Baguette out.
So in the game, Jhin's 4th auto attack does loads of damage because he is obsessed with the number 4 and in the cinematic he fired 3 shots which means his next shot will do a lot of damage. There is a comic set after this where Jhin is alive so we can assume that either he hit Camille (The scissor legs lady) and really hurt her or he missed but he escaped.

Each region has a color theme you can pretty much reliably use to determine a champion's original location.
-Ionia is silver, pinks and green.
-Piltover is shiny copper, steel.
-Zaun is dirty copper, but with green.
-Noxus is red and black.
-Demacia is white, gold and blue.
-Bandle City is fluffy.
-Shadow Isles is black and blue-green.
-Bilgewater is wood and iron and sea theme.

Easter egg! Jhin mask appears in Benzo shop in Arcane in the first episode. It is through her that Ekko eavesdrops on Vander and Grayson conversation.
Seems like everyone's got you more than covered with the lore stuff, so all I'll do is ask/recommend that you do Call of Power. It's pretty insane, shows lots of characters, and the main one is probably one that's going to be very relevant in the shows they do.

1. It is Jhin, and he is able to play the piano, he is an insane (literally maniac) artist. An Ionian serial killer, with a past nickname The Golden Demon. He is obssesed with art and killing, and mixes them. He is also extremely clever, and by his bow you can know that he expected this outcome and it was going accorsing to his plan. 2. It is Noxus, the character with the spinning axes is Draven, Darius' brother. Draven likes to put on a show and in Noxus one of the ideals says that power is all you need, so he is managing a fighting pit. He was feeling bored watching all those weak fries fighting until Riven came. He actually threw Riven's own sword at her to make the fight entertaining, he didnt want to hurt her with it. 3. The Ionian girl is Irelia, the war happening is the Noxus invasion. The tanned mage is Karma, a vessel with a deity protecting Ionia in it. The lightning wielding hamster-like yordle is Kennen, he is in the same ninja order with Akali and Shen. The giant grey man is Sion, a literal zombie brought back by the Noxus to fight over and over. 4. Police woman with glowing eyes is Camille, a piltovan, she came to arrest Jhin but in the end he escaped after putting on quite a show. She is also heavily modified by technology, her legs are blades.

To start Awaken is focused on the conflicts of the champions from Ionia, Noxus, and Piltover/Zaun. And yes Ionia is under attack by Noxus.
Irelia the women who dances with her blade, leads her people as she is the only one capable of fighting as most of the Ionians which are her people are inexperienced with fighting.
Riven the muscular women who wields a sword is an exile, she originally works for Noxus but after seeing the effects of war she broke her blade and sworn that she will aviod conflict and fighting and only use her blade when needed, this is why she isn't using her blade to hurt Draven.
Draven is the guy who fought Riven, he is the brother of Darius, and he is incharge of the brawl arena basically the pitfighting arena.
Camille the AOT inspired champion is an assassin and probably assigned or paid to kill Jhin. And yes she is a cyborg and she is powered by Hextech.
Jhin is a virtuoso and is obsessed with perfection that he killed a lot of people and considers killing an art. And yes he is obsessed with the number 4.
Sion is a war hero from the past, he is revered by Noxus and made him the way he is, he now works for Noxus as a brute monster capable of killing hundreds of people.
There is still a lot of champions featured which were Akali, Karma, Yasuo, and Kennen but I think you should just watch lore readings by NECRIT, he's videos are great and good for people curious to know the story of Runeterra.
I just found your channel and I'm a big Arcane fan too, I found out about Lol in later 2018 when KDA debuted and I'm soo happy that more and more people are intrested in the stories of Runeterra, and I love your reactions and discussions about it. Jhin (the flamboyant piano player) is definitely one of the League communities favorite characters. He is a psychopathic artist who sees his acts of murder as "creating beauty and perfection." He is actually from Ionia and has ties to Shen, Akali, Zed, and Kennen. Essentially in the lore he was rescued from prison by a Noxian cabal who uses him as their "hand" in the world to assassinate targets....but he cannot stop pursing his "art" on the side.
In this cinematic he can be seen in a music hall/theater playing the piano with his traps already laid around in wait for someone to arrive. That someone is Camille and her task force. Camille is a Piltover noble with big bucks and an enemy to Caitlyn because she sort of acts like a vigilante. Imagine an evil cyborg female batman who flies around with omni directional zip-lines and has replaced her legs with giant scissor blades.
The reason this is interesting is BECAUSE Camille is from Piltover. They are in a theater hall.
And in ARCANE, there is a scene where Jayce and Mel are in the balconies of a theater watching a play being performed by a talented musician...
This is speculated to possibly be Jhin, the Noxian-hired assassin.
*Highly recommend checking out his "theme." Riot Music team releases a theme with each character to color their lore a bit more. Jhin's theme is absolutely "hectic" as yall would say.

Irelia is the beautiful Ionian woman. She controls the blades psychically. She's just another insanely badass character in the roster.
Fun little side detail - the explosions of purple and confetti are actually blood and viscera. Jhin simply sees the mutilation of his enemies as beautiful art. I got the notification that this was uploaded and immediately dropped what I was doing. Keep them coming, guys!

I know Camille is a hextech cyborg of house Ferros in Piltover. I remember somewhere that she's like a private agent(?), or someone that you hire like a mercenary or something to do stuff.
Jhin is regarded by the community as a perfect character in all fronts. Gameplay, design, and lore. He's essentially a serial killer obsessed with the number 4 and sees killing as a LITERAL artform. The circus explosions that you see in the video are actually from Jhin's POV that's why its so beautiful. But if you were normal all you'd see is guts, blood, and gore. He's insane basically and like a true artist he adds suspense and drama to his murders, making sure they're perfect for his.... performance.
If you're interested in how his gameplay reflects this, the basic way to explain it is all shooting characters in league have no reload mechanic except him, he only has 4 shots before he reload with his 4th being the strongest. He has a grenade that bounces 4 times. Traps that reveal for 4 seconds. And an ultimate ability with 4 shots but bigger. You also play him like an obsessed artist, making sure everything is perfect before you score a kill.
Another Easter egg: if you connect the letters:JHIN on your phone keyboard it'll form a number 4.

What's really cool is the Jhin part is a side story of the comic for Shen and Zed.

Jhin is my all time favorite champion (Mask guy). He’s a mass murderer. He’s very much similar to the Riddler, but finds his murders to be pieces of art. He’s actually from Ionia, but the last comic had him in Piltover, which is where this scene is taking place. He also has a strange addiction to the number 4.
Also, the lass after him is Camile, who has a very high chance of being in next season of Arcane just due to her lore. Her house might end up claiming a seat at piltover if any of the other house leaders were killed in the blast.

The guy playing the piano is Jhin, the Performer, loosely based on V for Vendetta.
The strutting lady is Camille, the Steel Shadow (an enforcer of Piltover).
Most of your questions are answered :-) Draven (the "master" of the arena) isn't throwing his knife. You can see several times a sword at the wall behind him (not that good visible, for example 4:48). This sword is characteristic for Riven ingame. So this actually is the origin scene of Riven. Draven btw is the brother of the big guy with the huge axe you saw in other videos (the one who killed the king to save the child/slave).
The Bow-Down-scene is legendary, such a masterpiece. Ingame he can shoot just 4 times, before he has to reload for a longer time. 3 normal shots and one very strong last shot. When he's bowing down, you can see his weapon in his back starts to glow red, which means he prepares his 4th shot (against camille). Jhin is maybe (also ingame) one of the best character designs in LoL, for example:
Jhin finally killed 4 really important main characters in the League of Legend-Lore, but i won't spoiler here, because you know some of them.
Jhin fires his 4 shots in a Four quarter beat (His firespeed can't be changed which is different to all other champions in LoL, which attacks faster with levels and items).
If you tip J H I N with just one finger on your keyboard, you're doing the same move as drawing a "4".
The number 4 is related to death in the japanese language (he's a professional killer).
His main theme is separated in 4 parts, the 1st part is the chase, the second is the hunt, the third is the kill and the forth is the satisfaction and the artistic beauty of the kill. Killing is art for Jhin.

Jhin sees the world in his own way, and the purple colors are only in his head - in fact, it is blood, his opponent-Camila's fighting style is like a kind of dance, and most likely Jhin takes a bow pose - because for him it is.А bit of background (Hada Jhin is a maniac who sees beauty in death, his whole fighting style is tied to a kind of "death theater")

The Jhin (piano) bow with the blue and purple everywhere while Camille (colourful eyes) flies down to him is *chef's kiss*! Also, Sion is such a badass, so intimidating being like 10 feet tall. Draven (with the spinning axes) is so incredibly detailed and his laugh is great! P.S. Kennen (lightning yordle) is always great to see.

The first "sword" tossed to break the chains from Riven is her own sword, that is broken. Draven follows to engage her in an entertaining fight. I also would like to call your attention to Kennen, the little ball of electricity.
