NO. no no no my dude lol. Neaderthals like you are the reason why bands can blatantly ripoff the sound of other big bands and get away with it. RP isn't praising Greta Van Fleet here. He's making it clear that they're riding LZ's coattails. Nothing more, nothing less.
Maybe I misunderstood Robert Plant here but I didn't think he was dissing Aerosmith, I thought he was rolling his eyes because the Greta Van Fleet guy said he patterned his style after Aerosmith' instead of admitting to the massive Led Zeppelin influence. So he's basically rolling his eyes at the dishonesty.....UPDATE: after watching the video again I'm probably wrong, Plant makes a snoring noise and pretends to sleep after mentioning Aerosmith..... I guess he is dissing Aerosmith 🤷
@EdFredHernandez Plant is probably dissing both Aerosmith and the lie about what the band said. They were better off not discussing the topic. He should have said we are our own style.
@@EdFredHernandez: I think your first assumption was right. It’s so obvious that GVF took their ‘inspiration’ from Led Zeppelin that it makes no sense to even try to deny it. And sure, they must have listened to other bands as well and Aerosmith might very well be one of their favorites, but image a band shows up, playing songs that could have been written by Angus and Malcolm Young and the singer, who sings exactly like Bon Scott, claims the band’s been heavily influenced by Iron Maiden…., I’d roll my eyes and snore too if I were Angus Young.
This interview was how I discovered GVF, I’m still blown away by how a bunch of young guys around my age (I’m currently 25) sounded identical to Zeppelin but it’s still awesome to see them come into their own as musicians over the last few years, they’re absolutely killing it

Die hard Zeppelin fan here. The first time I heard GVF, was right around the time that Jimmy Page was re-mastering a lot of Led ZEP's work, and I honestly thought I was hearing some long lost, unreleased material. Then I found out it was Greta Van Fleet. REALLY surprised, in a good way. They'll never be the Mighty LED ZEP, but they sure do come closer than any other Band ever has.
Idk man, every time I hear them it just makes me want to listen to Zeppelin instead. Why settle for an imitation when we can have the real thing? It also bugs me that they refuse to admit they ripped off Zeppelin's sound.
@@RSpracticalshooting I couldn't agree more. Not that anyone and everyone doesn't know they went for the ZEP Sound. They got it pretty good, but you're 100% on the money... Why listen to them when we have The Mighty LED ZEPPELIN. Greatest Band EVER.
@@robo6863They're good, still a very "young" Band, but they definitely have talent, I mean, you can't say the singer is "bad" cause he's got a helluva set of pipes, but nobody could ever replace Led Zeppelin. But I'll definitely give them a thumbs up, great sound, obviously a copy of ZEP though.
Because he's being nice or else he'd be hated or cancelled or seen as a jerk. I bet he has different opinions behind closed doors. There's nothing original about them even their vocalist sings and moves like Robert with the same mannerisms. In any other decade in music history that would be called hacks but we live in a more politically correct time.

Every ten years there is a band that sound like Zeppelin, but the singer only has one or two Plant vocal tricks but nowhere near the musical ability of, - also NEVER have a drummer equipped to play like Bonham

I remember back in the late 80’s, RP was on Rock Line and Tortelvis from Dread Zeppelin called in and Robert was quite excited to talk to him and said he loved what he did with the music. What a compliment.
So you're talking about a band from the 80s, do you remember the band from like 85..86? @karamontoya6285 Maybe Bonham, which was a zeppelin clone band that featured Jason Bonham. Of course Zeppelin's John Bonham was his father so I guess it's OK.
@@karamontoya6285 some people referred to Kingdom Come as Kingdom Clone because of their similar sound to LZ. The first self titled album I loved and still listen to it often. Lenny Wolf, former Stone Furry frontman, was lead. Guitar, bass and drums also awesome. I have it on CD and iTunes.
How is Robert Plant even still alive? I'm 56 and starting memorizing Zeppelin before I learned my ABCs. Absolute LEGEND. I must admit GVF is a breath of fresh air. I'm a big fan and hope they have at least half of the success of Zeppelin.

What? He's not complaining. Beautiful little singer? And that's putting them down? Robert plant loves them and is flattered or he wouldn't have mentioned them at all! ❤❤❤❤
I've been wanting to hear Robert Plant's opinion on them since my little brother showed me Greta Van Fleet several years ago. Robert Plant is a legend.
I heard Greta Van Fleet on the radio one day a while back and my first thought was that Led Zeppelin had released an album of previously recorded and unreleased material from their archives. I researched it as soon as I got home. I own the first ten Led Zeppelin’s albums on vinyl and knew I had not heard that song before.
To be copied is the greatest honor and Great Van does it with amazing style.. Even though they are Zeppelin influenced they do it in their own sound. Full marks. Very tasteful..
To be copied pisses people off, wtf are you talking about? Didn't anyone do that thing when you were a kid where they copy everything you do and eventually you want to knock them out? That's like a universal thing that we learn as kids.

I seen them in concert in St.Louis a few years ago and I was impressed
A band being mentioned by Robert Plant means everything 👍🏻

Plagiarism is lame 😂
he's dissing them cuz they didn't pay homage... tf?
NO. no no no my dude lol. Neaderthals like you are the reason why bands can blatantly ripoff the sound of other big bands and get away with it. RP isn't praising Greta Van Fleet here. He's making it clear that they're riding LZ's coattails. Nothing more, nothing less.
To whom, exactly? He's like... One of the most badmouthed people in the music industry for very good reason.
I like how he rolls his eyes and talks about Aerosmith! 😅😅
I’d roll my eyes too 🤢🤮🤮🤮
Maybe I misunderstood Robert Plant here but I didn't think he was dissing Aerosmith, I thought he was rolling his eyes because the Greta Van Fleet guy said he patterned his style after Aerosmith' instead of admitting to the massive Led Zeppelin influence. So he's basically rolling his eyes at the dishonesty.....UPDATE: after watching the video again I'm probably wrong, Plant makes a snoring noise and pretends to sleep after mentioning Aerosmith..... I guess he is dissing Aerosmith 🤷
Aerosmith would put anybody to sleep.

It sure is. That style wouldn’t exist without Robert Plant and he knows it and is careful not to be a bully. I admire him for that.
Um, what? He's saying that the band just bit their sound. Which they did.
Yeah. Copy paste.
He wasn't complimenting him.....

Me to bro!!!!!
Same. I was like no wonder they did not release it. Its ok but not great.

It's very cool that Robert gives them their props. Very classy.

Are you daft?
He may have range but Robert Plant he is not.
Zero creativity.
Aside from the comparisons to R.P. the guitarist makes me sick with that semi kneel and rocking back and forth. Very similar to J.P. movements on stage. A bunch of L.Z. wannabes.
