It has only been 30 years bro. Come back in 150 years and tell me whether it "never" dies. Even even then that is a tiny amount of time in the big picture. Everything human dies, and I doubt a music genre that didn't even involve the listeners will fare well. Some folk music has survived a long time because people passed it down person to person and they actually sang the songs and were involved with the music. We will see if people are still interested I'm sitting and listening to music from the 20th Century come the year 2300AD. People from the Middle Ages probably thought their music was pretty badass too. Although to be honest there are some pieces from that period that are still listened to and performed and hold up pretty well. But not many.

How did we go from this, to what we have now. Such a big change which deviates from what hip hop actually is/was, which was hard hitting lyrics highlighting hardships of life, with beautiful jazz or funk samples. I wish modern rap was like this.

How did we go from this, to what we have now. Such a big change which deviates from what hip hop actually is/was, which was hard hitting lyrics highlighting hardships of life, with beautiful jazz or funk samples. I wish modern rap was like this.
