Knicks reporter Ian Begley on Clint Capela rumors:
“Clint Capela, of Atlanta, was one big that the Knicks checked in on. I don't know how far talks went, and I don't know if they're active at this very point, but they did check in on Capela. You can infer that Mitchell Robinson would've probably been in that trade because Capela is a starting center. Or, maybe the Knicks would've said Robinson and Capela could be our platoon at center this season.”

Capela is a bum with the ball but he is at least reliable. But what would be the point of trading a centre, we'd still need a centre.
Can’t we sign and trade Achuiwa for like 12mm (market is that much) can we use a 5 mm trade exception? I think so then sims and a rookie or Rokubaitus. Plus some picks 1st protected or seconds.
Welcome back Marsh, I think the money in this trade is a big obstacle. I know the demands for Kessler are very high but, would be awesome for our future at center.

The Hawks would have little need or interest in trading CC for another center. They already have Okongwu and just traded for Nance as a backup. It would make zero sense for them. Plus SA owns their pick next year so no need at all to tank. It would have to be a 3 team trade to work.

The Knicks are not trading deuce or Mitch Robinson. They’re going to keep the core intact. What they can do. It was suggested after August 6 they’ll be able to trade the rookie phenomenon, guard, sign, and trade precious and use the Barrett 5 million exception and send more money to, the hawks then we are receiving with Clint Capella

Just put Ariel Hukporti in as back up Center and sign Precious Achiewa to a one year deal for 12 million. Not only would we still be contenders, but we’re not giving up anything, and when next year other veteran Centers of interest are closer to walk from a team ending their contract one could eventually end up on the Knicks, or be traded by a particular team more willing to take back whatever Knicks are offering at that point with their backs more against the wall to get something, rather than nothing in return...
Although he’s only a rookie at 22, he’s 7 foot at 247 pounds, and even though it was Summer League he looked pretty good, plus coachable to get better over the season at a cheap price.

Yes, he can win a championship as a head coach as long as he got Jalen Brunson because Brunson is so high of an IQ player he’s a coach on the floor that embodies winning, before Brunson came thibs was on the hot seat, Brunson saved his Job (and low IQ Randle from being traded) because he was losing and not playing the rookies like quickley, grimes, McBride, toppin but loved elfrid Payton. I remember us losing and every time they put quickley and grimes in we start winning and tie the game then he subs them for Payton and always end up losing these winnable games and it was always to scrub teams. I remember losing with Randle on the floor, once he sits we start winning once he comes back we start losing. Don’t mind my ptsd. So damn Infuriating. But we got Brunson, so this is the only reason I’m saying this, don’t trade randle, and give thibs his extension. I’m good now.🤣🤣

Defense and rebounding are his thing. He single handedly shut down the cavs in the playoffs 2 years ago and does well against Embiid, Importunately he cant make foul shots or stay healthy. If we trade for Capella he at least can stay on the floor. I like his game. At that point we still need a backup and I dont see Simms ever filling the roll successfully. Maybe the big Ukrainian kid from summer league can step up into that roll?

Trust me he won’t be the same after that injury + he is a sour patch kid we don’t need him that’s why ..always crying and complaining..
MR is a great center to start for this team. But he is a backup on others. We need another reliable center. He's a liability on offense but also rebounds and creates offense so it's a double edged blade. We need consistency, and health is the first step to that.
Marsh u can make a deal without involving Deuce or Mitch for Capela sign and trade precious his market value is around 9-12 mil then in august u can Trade Kolek add RJs trade exception for 5.5mil and makeup the difference with like a sims or Diop something like that Atl will get a young PG to build around along with the rest of there young guys
