As an avid whiskey lover the answer is yes and no. The year matters but if its not a limited release around $175-$200 and if a limited release then probably at least double.
Starting out with micht barrel proof and Stagg jr is quite the way to warm up the pallet lmao. Also Stagg MSRP is 60 but you can’t find it, so 150-200 depending on the batch in secondary usually.
I saw an experiment on tv where they had a cheap whiskey and an expensive whiskey and in a blind taste test, 5 out of 5 picked the expensive whiskey. They then put the cheap whiskey through a water filter and afterwards 3 out of 5 picked the cheap whiskey. I think if you filter the cheap stuff it can remove the impurities and make it taste the same as the expensive one.
Smooth doesn’t mean good but most people will prefer a smooth alcohol as it isn’t distinct or overpowering for somebody who might not have acquired the taste for it yet.
Smoothness has nothing to do with quality, with bourbon usually the better whiskies arent even attempting to be smooth. Being unfiltered is actually seen as a sign of quality because its more flavorful

RIP Charlie's Alcohol Abstinence.
@@UTTPGeneralBillMCookI know you're a bot but why did you think saying that would work
He broke it a while back
This is quite possibly the best video I've ever watched from these dudes
"that's a little sm-- *fucking dies* --that's smooth"
Tipsy Matt is such a gem
Charlie being so sober next to Matt who’s twice his size is absolutely hilarious
Scottish born and raised. I only ever drink bourbon when its mixed with coke. WHISKY, what you guys call Scotch, I'll drink neat. I also take for granted that I can walk into any small corner store and buy a 35+ year aged single malt for 30 bucks.
The W is silent in Glasgow btw
Always great watching people talk about things they know nothing about
Matts goin thru the motions
Should've given them Ardbeg or Laphroaig and ruined everybody's day 💀
I love Laphroaig. That peaty iodine taste.
As someone who’s recently got into bourbon this video hurt me, also givin them high proof whiskey when they don’t particularly care for it is brutal
You already know what it is! It's ya boi Charlie getting drunk again.

bourbon can be made anywhere but has to follow rules set

My European mind can't comprehend this. When I hear whiskey it's just Scottish stuff. Americans would make some jet fuel, call it Old Blind Pig and sell it for 500
Whiskey is Irish mate. Whisky is the Scottish spelling and scotch came after Irish.
But we are probably the same people to you lol
Missed the link in the description, but oh well. Good vid.
Feet taste tier list?
Stagg Jr is not $200 retail. It's like $50 lol
They no longer make it under that name so retail is $60-$70 but it goes for $150-$200.
@@unusallife6326 yeah and it's batch 13 so it's quite old and hard to find now - but 'retail' means retail. MSRP is/was about $60. Saying retail $200 is nonsense.
@@dogsbusiness fair enough, however if I could find it for $60 I’d have a new side hustle lol
@@unusallife6326 Going by your logic, the Michter's would be way off wouldn't it? It'd be about double that 109 pricing on secondary.
@@prad87 No idea, it's supply and demand and I don't know whiskey but I know MIchter is considered one of the best brands. I got that $150-$200 number that aggregated sales from different stores/resellers.
Looks like it sells for over MSRP.

@UTTP134😂
