ITS TRAVEL DAY - After waiting three years, it's our turn to visit Walt Disney World, Florida.
We flew with Virgin Atlantic & managed to get upgraded to Premium Economy, which was fantastic. The seats were very comfortable and the food was actually delicious considering its plane food.
The service from Virgin was impeccable, all the staff were lovely, faultless in fact. If we were ever fortunate enough to go again, we would LOVE to do premium economy as we loved it.
BUT.....It does not matter where you sit on the plane, you are all going to the same place.

I HATE flying, too. I think the most important thing to remember is we never let our fears keep us from traveling to a place we love.

Del, I can totally sympathise with you! I used to love flying, but since a bad experience (coming home from Florida back in 2001) I struggle with turbulence. Take off and landing I’m totally fine with, but freak out when we hit turbulence. I have good flights where I’m calm and occasionally have a peak out the window and bad flights where I just cling to the armrest for the whole flight!
I do try hypnotherapy, which has helped, I also discovered that watching movies (especially ones I really like) help to take my mind off things!
I find travel days somewhat of a struggle, the anticipation of getting on the plane is horrible. But once I sit down, I seem to calm a little, then once we’re in the air, the bumps usually get to me a bit.
We came back from out Florida holiday yesterday on the Virgin flight to Glasgow (in the bubble), the flight was fine up the US and Canada, once we got to the Atlantic however, it started to get a bit choppy for 3/4’s of the Jumanji movie (which kept my mind off the turbulence for a bit, though there were a few bumps that did scare me). Then it was smooth sailing to Glasgow.
Get Binky we were in Florida for 15 days (which, lets face it just isn’t long enough!)
Yeah, looking at October next year! We usually try to go every two years, but we were asked by friends if we wanted to go next year, so thats the plan at the moment! :)
Jumanji was so funny! Also between that and Star Wars that was 4.5 hours of the flight done! :)
From Glasgow the flight is usually around 7.5 hours on average, as the route is usually up towards Iceland, Greenland, down Canada and the east coast of US (which can be a little bumpy flying down the coast). But it’s quite cool if theres not that many clouds and you can see places like New York.
The Premium Economy seats in the bubble are awesome, though I believe as of next year Virgin will be retiring the 747’s and using the Dreamliner instead, so the Bubble will be disappearing! ☹️ Though the cool thing with the Dreamliners is they have a built in mechanism to smooth out your flight. (Been on one to Canada and have to admit, it was a smooth ride!)
Keep making these videos as they’re always great to keep away the post holiday blues and make the Florida memories come flooding back!

Phenomenal video...I felt all that emotion...you’re so excited to go and scared at the same time! I am the same way about flying. Ahead of time I try to think about all the planes flying every day back and forth all safely up and down including my flight. Kinda helps lol. Only thing better than landing is going under that WDW sign!! I had surgery Wednesday and this made me laugh too hard...especially the sticker for being a brave flyer. I need to check my stitches!😄 Can’t wait for more!🌟

My husband is the exact same way, he is just a hot mess but like you he has never let it stopped him from traveling, so good on ya! He does now take meds that his doctor prescribed as I needed him calmer once we started to travel with our little ones! 😂😂 again loved the vlog and the Mr. Bean clips!!!!

HEY GET BINKY.....I hate flying too. If it's over an hour I freak out. I have to take high milligrams of Xanax to make it anywhere. I also book the last seat in the tail of the plane. Why????? Cause if the plane crashes it usually hits the ground nose first.....you have a better chance. Also it's close to the bathroom if I have to vomit cause of motion sickness and my nerves. Cheers my friends!!!!!!
Im also a nervous flyer, its not too bad on take off but landing I feel really nauseous and shaky :(
Alright Del get to work ready for the next, though I did watch your daily uploads during your trip last summer. Wanted to see what you thought of the room. Wife, Granddaughter, and I stayed in the same room but over on the other side of the big staircase in 2015. Loved the view across the courtyard and water toward the dining hall. Love your editing, I’m sure it is a lot of work. Just know it appreciated as I live vicariously through your Vlog as I am unable to go myself.
Watched this from the balcony at Bay Lake Tower. And then vlogged about watching it. So we may have created some kind of temporal Disney TH-cam shift. Hopefully universe won’t crack. Loved this but don’t love how anxious you were😥. Can’t wait for the next one!!!!
Oh bless you Del. I used to be the same with flying. Hated every minute of it until we landed. Not sure why I changed but I dont mind it at all now. I still get nervous when thinking about it but try to tell myself that the flight is going to happen whether I worry or not so I tend to just try and enjoy it now. Once were up in the air I start really enjoying it and watching the films etc. We are going in the Bubble this time we love it up there. We have premium economy coming back. First time we will have tried PE. Looking forward to it. From Leigh

I have always been scared of turbulence, but I did research and found that turbulence can not bring down a plane, not matter how rough. Once I knew that, I was never scared to fly again. Great video!

Hey port Orleans that where we stayed last year. We did pop century on other visits and enjoyed but port Orleans is just beautiful with the bridges and river, even the food hall. Did you go to the pool at the resort or meet Bob?
Just spent little extra as a surprise for wife and daughter as a surprise non Disney unlike me and there be dolphins to meet and swim with looming when we’re at Vero wooo hooo, you like only live once that’s a tick of the list.

Hey Guys! great video, I've been hammering them since I booked my trip with the girlfriend for this Halloween last November! Ive been a few times before, and the last time was 7 years ago... I was never bad with flying until that flight and I was terrified for months leading up to it, and still am a bit nervous now. We're going premium economy in the bubble too as a treat. Did that help with the fear? And also, the flight attendants seem really spot on with nervous fliers, do they give you little tips and tricks to help with it? Like you say, if you want to go, you have to fly! It's always worth it! Looking forward to watching the rest of the vlogs :D

Up until about 5 years ago every flight I went on was torture, sometimes I was even vomiting pre flight .
But , and I hope it happens to you, I suddenly started to enjoy it, I can’t even put a finger on it, I started to realise I was doing something special, I was flying across the Atlantic while friends and family were at home and/or working. Made me start to enjoy it. You will get better if you want to. X

There's nothing quite like the feeling when you get off that plane! The heat hits you and it smells great. We hope to go back 2019, fingers crossed. We live in Derbyshire. I hate flying probably because my first flight was with school around 2 years ago we had bad turbulence there and back like really bad the plane was rocking and shaking like a roller coaster it was that bad. It was only 3 hours worst 3 hours of my life I'm determined to fly again.
Awe completely understand your fear! I am terrible on a plane! I don’t move, don’t go to the loo and can’t watch anything! I had Valium and several double vodkas on last flight over and it made it go quicker but didn’t help the fear:( on way home I took a panic attack and my full body was numb! It’s awful! But......I will only fly virgin to Orlando now as the air hostesses picked up my fear straight away and explained things to me. I wasn’t looking for attention but appreciated the support and assurance! Now I have came across a vlog from a woman who is in a Manchester to Orlando flight. Her vlog bizarrely seems to be helping with my anxiety as we fly back out in September! I have been very anxious since the start of the year but for some reason her vlog calms me! Have a watch and let me know if you feel better watching it or if I’m just crazy lol love you guys! Best vlogs on you tube!!! Just got up to where you were taking off. I REALLY hate taking off and Landing, BUT this year i listened to my music on my phone whilst doing both, and it helped a lot. It sort of helped me ignore the fact I was taking off, so I didn't want to be sick and i didn't panic. - Going to watch the rest now :D Travel vlogs are my fave.
