Everything is packaged so nicely underneath! The engineering work is top-notch, but that's to be expected when you give Lingenfelter that kind of money for a build.
Vau Gr Look, to each their own in this situation. However, there is no debating that 60k could get you in the 4 digit power numbers in a car like this. The LS power plant is one of the best platforms for that reason. They are reliable, reasonably priced, and the aftermarket for them is far superior to any other platform on the market. Lets not forget about the wonderful 30+% markup that these 2 shops placed on this guys ticket. There are a number of things that these shops could have done differently to improve this cars numbers.
Jakme Auff basic stuff, a good intake(not just hose and filter), a good full exhaust, and a tune. If the funds allow do some suspension work to make the car stick to the ground better.
You guys forgetting it was 15 years ago when all of this shit cost way more? Lingenfelter will always be more money for less power. But, you get a warranty and a well tested, engineered product. This was a full motor swap with turbo kit. Pay a shop to do that today and you're still spending north of 20k.

As an owner of a relatively low-mile 1000hp+ Supra, I would somewhat disagree. While it does bump the value somewhat, it does not offset the money put into it. As an example, my current Supra has over $40k in it. The car bone stock should sell for about $52k-$55k in todays market. With modifications its mid-$60k to $70k on the best day. You do the math :)
In it's defense, we're comparing 2002 upgrades to 2017 upgrades. 550 was impressive for its day when the most powerful production cars were mid 600's. now 550 is nothing special.
This is a proper street build. Clean, reliable, driveable, liveable and comfortable. Runs on pump gas, starts up every time, no stupid idle, no stupid exhaust, very little lag, and makes lots of power on very low boost. This is what a proper build is all about. And no doubt all of the parts have warranty on them as well.

Yep, I picked this car up last fall. It is a super clean, well built ride. This exact drivetrain (fully built RPM Level X 4L65, Level IV Diff with a Quaife Differential, Quicktime NHRA-approved blowshield, Precision converter, upgraded driveshaft, upgraded axles, C6 Z06 pinion support, upgraded dampers, bushings, etc) is being used in cars running 8's at 160mph. The Vengeance build sheet on this car is 4 pages long. lol Engine is fully built and should be good to 1000hp. Sure the tune is conservative, though with some minor tweaks to the tune, I fully expect this car to run high 9's in its current configuration. With an upgraded LPE turbo/manifold setup (which I can get, BTW, talked to LPE already), I fully expect low 9's, possibly high 8's in the 1/4. It is a total sleeper and for the price I paid for it, it can't be beat. Believe me, this car as built was a STEAL. Maybe a lot of money for the previous owner but if you keep your eyes open, there are other great deals out there. Some of you guys are totally missing the point. This car was built for a previous owner by two of the best shops in the country, one of which is at Manufacturer level, that being LPE. Definitely not hacked together. Sure, there are quicker cars out there but this had so much inherent potential I couldn't pass it up. Keyboard warriors may disagree but it is a sweet car.

I wasn't even looking to buy a car when I saw this offered on the corvette forum. I also paid a few bucks less than the recent sale price you mentioned in your review. When I was making the decision, I couldn't look at the car in person, so I had a friend in the Chicago area who really knows cars test drive it for me and that sealed the deal. When it was delivered, it had only 9,715 miles on it. Such a deal! I can understand why you considered buying it. I also had my own reservations about the auto, but when I drove it, all my concerns vanished because when you smack the throttle down on this car, it takes the heck off! It is a freakin' blast! I leaned into it for literally a "one-thousand-one" count on the highway at about 45mph and the car was at 70 in the blink of an eye. Talk about passing power! I really haven't had a lot of time to drive the car since I got it due to work requirements. Now I just need to get the car up on my lift, give it a thorough detailing all over, tweak a couple small things to my liking and have some fun with it. Keep up the good work with your videos!

Most people here are looking at the numbers and not the package because they don't understand. Of course more power could be had for less. This package was engineered to produce a smooth and reliable amount of tractable horsepower, with out wasting the components that weren't altered. The installation is also top notch. The problem you are going to have is from the people looking to argue rather than learn. The picture of the Lingenfelter receipt is pretty clear and straight forward. The short block was very reasonably priced. As were all other components aside form the twin turbo set up. The twin turbo set up includes all the plumbing, wiring, inter-coolers (intake), exhaust, hardware, brackets, exhaust manifolds, tuning and custom fabrication or labor that may be applied. All specific the this car as desired by the customer. The price may seem high, however any one with any experience doing this sort of work already knows the labor is extensive and time consuming. This is not singular purpose drag car. It is a driver. The Later drive-train modifications may have justified the increased output. Which did not require many alterations to the Lingenfelter package.
A late comment, but what fun! The build was expensive for the second owner. He/she had piece of mind since both shops stand by their work. This car will serve its third owner very well for a weekend car that will put many smiles on their face. Always enjoy your Vlogs!

Gotta remember that this car had money spent on it OVER 10 YEARS AGO! I'm sure there are many refinements in both components and a greater range of bolt on performance parts (less custom, therefor cheaper parts, same or better performance, quicker and easier to install so therefor less labor)
That twin turbo kit looks ahead of its time fits very nice. I'm sure the power was kept down because the first gen blocks can't handle much more power than that, even with forged internals.

whoever buys this car used gets an awesome deal .the guy who paid for the build eats all the depreciation , you drive it for X amount of years and sell it for close to or the same price. All the stuff is done by big name shops so it should be reliable, especially with the new block with forged internals. 30K for a 10sec car that looks stock and has pristine interior and d3cent amenities is a good deal no matter how you look at it. This is not the same as a home garage built car that may or may not have a bunch of bugs. Super fast with very low mileage. You wanna go fast in a nice car cheap and not have it blow up or break down all the time, this seems like an awesome deal.
It's obviously cheaper to build a car on your own and I am sure it would be way cheaper. Thing is some people dont want to deal with all the reading and all the trouble. To them it's easier to write a check to a known company for them to do all the work and that's why they charge what they do. There is a lot of research that needs to be done for a proper build and that's what this Z06 is. I would not spend that kind of money either but I am sure I wouldn't mind doind so if I too had that kind of money. If I had money for a 2013-14 Shelby GT500 for example, I would send the car to Heffner and ask them to replace the turbos with massive Twin Turbos. I would probably still buy a set of wheels and tires, exhaust and other easier mods and install them on my own.

dano tell that to a formula 1 car or a crotch rocket. My Yamaha R6R has 40lbs of torque but a 110hp and believe me it's not slow but you do got to get it wound up to feel any power.

I spent $10K on parts alone on a stage 3 6MT allroad build some years back. All the labor was me-$0. It was fast as my 993 and with AWD. Ultimate snow car. I think I got $7K for it 5yrs later? You have to enter a project and not expect to recoup costs period.
You hit on a good point and with old muscle cars to off roaders its a great idea to buy one built then with the cash you save you can make it your own and sell off the changed parts along the way.

I recently bought a fully built 02 WS6 408/4L80e/12 bolt full suspension, nitrous, for the same price as what a bone stock 02 WS6 goes for. I bought a 2013 mustang gt for 22k and strapped on a Paxton 2200 for 7000 and a set of cat deletes, fed it e85, made 700 rwhp, put some 15 inch race stars on it and went mid 10's at 135.....
$60,000 still seems so much for some hp. Hell, my 800-1000 03 cobra build "only" cost me about 10-13k including the cost of the "roller". I'm waiting for my built trans at $3500, this guy spent more than what I paid on the car and the turbo kit combined. Must be nice lol

My second hand F1A pro-charger kit was 4300. My forged motor and transmission upgrades was 12700. My tuning software was 400. I make 21 lbs of boost and over 840 RWHP. I do not think paying for the name Lingenfelter is worth it at all. Car is a 2000 C5 base That I bought for 16,200 7 years ago.

That thing should easily be putting down close to 1000hp reliably for that price, complete with all of the necessary supporting mods.

My 02z with and A@A P1sc1 kit and a clutch went 10.4 at 137. I paid 2500 for the kit used and installed in two days myself. Not being a jerk.....just stating money spent wisely goes a long ways.
A and a doesnt make a p1sc supercharger its ati procharger. A and a v2 v3 v7 ysi are a few a and a kits for c5. I used to have a p1sc kit for my 02 ws6 6500 new for the kit

4L65E swaps aren't cheap or easy to do. 4L80E swaps get even more expensive. If you want an auto in a C5 Z06, you have to pay to play.

I bought a 2016 ZO6 3LZ, cammed, twin turbos,meth, e85, and more. I spent total buying the car and modding it for 94k. I have over 1400 rwhp.

HP is nice but TORQUE is king! nice ride though
dano tell that to a formula 1 car or a crotch rocket. My Yamaha R6R has 40lbs of torque but a 110hp and believe me it's not slow but you do got to get it wound up to feel any power.

Checking out some of the earlier content on your channel. Dude this thing is ridiculous! $30K for all this?! Someone scored. I spent $10K on parts alone on a stage 3 6MT allroad build some years back. All the labor was me-$0. It was fast as my 993 and with AWD. Ultimate snow car. I think I got $7K for it 5yrs later? You have to enter a project and not expect to recoup costs period.
You hit on a good point and with old muscle cars to off roaders its a great idea to buy one built then with the cash you save you can make it your own and sell off the changed parts along the way.
Love the stealth of this. Quiet, like stock. Unlike everyone these days, swapping exhaust out and making their cars loud, all bark, no bite.

The whole point of using the small Garrett twin turbos was the lack of lag. They spool up quick. LPE is the best.

Dude was ripped hard tho. You can get twin 7675 precision turbos for about 900 something a piece, entire turbo kit would be like 3-5k.

I recently bought a fully built 02 WS6 408/4L80e/12 bolt full suspension, nitrous, for the same price as what a bone stock 02 WS6 goes for.

I bought a 2013 mustang gt for 22k and strapped on a Paxton 2200 for 7000 and a set of cat deletes, fed it e85, made 700 rwhp, put some 15 inch race stars on it and went mid 10's at 135.....
$60,000 still seems so much for some hp. Hell, my 800-1000 03 cobra build "only" cost me about 10-13k including the cost of the "roller". I'm waiting for my built trans at $3500, this guy spent more than what I paid on the car and the turbo kit combined. Must be nice lol

My second hand F1A pro-charger kit was 4300. My forged motor and transmission upgrades was 12700. My tuning software was 400. I make 21 lbs of boost and over 840 RWHP.
I do not think paying for the name Lingenfelter is worth it at all. Car is a 2000 C5 base That I bought for 16,200 7 years ago.

I've never heard of anyone dumb enough to swap their 6sp manual into an automatic on a sports/muscle car, let alone paying over $15k to get the job done.

I like this car personally a lot and I would love to if I had the money to buy this car second hand with that stack of receipts. Its begging to dial up more horsepower but that horsepower it has now is dependable really nice car -wolf in sheep clothing😑 once again my opinion

Don't get me wrong: Lingenfelter is a boutique shop that does top-notch work. Having said this, those are abysmal power numbers for a $27k upgrade. Embarrassing, seriously. That thing should easily be putting down close to 1000hp reliably for that price, complete with all of the necessary supporting mods.

Base c5 had ls1, zo6 had ls6. Same motor with better cams and heads, but just as an lsa is a supercharged ls3, an ls6 is a souped up ls1.

My 02z with and A@A P1sc1 kit and a clutch went 10.4 at 137. I paid 2500 for the kit used and installed in two days myself. Not being a jerk.....just stating money spent wisely goes a long ways.
A and a doesnt make a p1sc supercharger its ati procharger. A and a v2 v3 v7 ysi are a few a and a kits for c5. I used to have a p1sc kit for my 02 ws6 6500 new for the kit
@@joehatten9171 Lol......My A@A kit that came with a P1sc-1 PROCHARGER. Are you trying to sound smart? It says Procharger right on the head units...Lol. They no longer use Procharger head units. They use Vortech. Always 1 guy splitting hairs.
Back then 500hp was like 900hp today 600plus wheel them was up there !
