finally an IJN campaign :) I hope they fix the various issues soon, seeing the AI DDs passing through each other on the stream recording and the ace ASW of the AI seem really annoying, especially in contrast to various ASW player videos I have seen so far.
Ship AI as a whole could be improved. More evasive maneuvers and collision avoidance with other ships and land would be great to see. Like Tortuga said there is an option to turn on ship collisions which I have enabled currently. (We will see how long that last) Ships passing through each other just really kills it for me. I do think ASW could use some work. One thing that I personally think would make ASW great is the ability to mark on the map and plot the course of the enemy submarine. This would make losing contact with the subs all the time less tedious.
I agree, the ability to plot and take notes on the map could be really nice but I think the abilities of maybe DDs and Submarines to use Hydrophones could be good also, for Submarines it could be use to ''spot'' ships that are outside of visual range or have an approx. when dived and for DDs it could help to hear torpedoes when they are coming
I just realized, that neither side reach Guadalcanal with any strike planes (the Japanese can get there, but only 8 zeroes that can do so.) I also like how all the Allied heavy cruisers are 22 cp while some arguably weaker CAs for japan is around 22-24, heck, the more capable cruisers can be around 28-30 cp. Also, I think most of the complaints of low submarine solutions are from the US side, because they almost never hit their target, even with like 80% on one occasion.
I really have not had issues with the American subs either in my playthroughs. There was a bug on launch day with torpedo solutions but it was resolved pretty quickly.
@@Wolfpack345 Does the game have duds? Because you ain't getting the true 1942 american submarine skipper experience without slamming four or more torpedos into something only for all of them to fail to detonate, or detonate early and warn your target without doing any damage.

I love sim games like this that really make you feel the weight of a kill. Like losing a ship in most games is a whatever thing but this really feels like it truly deals a big blow to the enemy, their tactics, their "economy" etc.
No, no, what we need is an all-carriers campaign. 😂 Or, perhaps, the IJN using only allied ships. Pretty sure with the current system you could give the IJN a Yorktown or something like that. Maybe not, but I hope so! IJN Yorktown just sounds weird. 😂
