The rainy season has arrived in Vancouver! With storm systems passing upwards from the subtropics, Vancouver has seen torrential amounts of rain fall in the past few days. While rain can pose the threat of delays and flight cancellations, it also provides a unique environment for filming in.
With large amounts of water resting on the surface of the runway, much of the moisture will become unsettled due to the movement of aircraft. Once the reverser doors are opened on jet engines, large clouds of water are kicked up off the surface engulfing the aircraft as it decelerates.

The Story of YVRgopher
YVRgopher originally started as a school math project in May, 2020. Over the course of the pandemic, plane spotting has become a passion and a hobby of mine.
