If your first 3 shots hit, the gun feels very satisfying to use. If they don’t (and they usually don’t) it just feels like the bullets just curve around the enemy haha
If they gave it a 400 RPM fire rate at full-auto and a 12-13% base reduction to all recoil values I bet that would feel a lot better. A slight buff to the bullet velocity would be nice too.
Only one or the other, Both would make it a little OP cause the damage is so high. Personally I’d prefer the recoil adjustment I think the fire rate is fine
@@Kachina. Hardly. A 25 RPM increase would give it a 300ms TTK in Full Auto which is right in between the Spear and the Bren 2. Even in Semi with headshots, it'd only drop down to 150ms from the current 160, so that's basically no different.
They already gave that 400RPM to the full auto conversion for the MCW 6.8 though. Just reducing the base recoil and buffing the centering speed will help the Sidewinder significantly since it has infinite torso damage range in 6V6.
Also I think that the slower fire rate and the weird recoil pattern is balanced for the two shot headshots potential. I think that the Sidewinder is the only full auto gun that can manage the two shot headshots currently in the game, and its TTK is actually faster than the MTZ762 but it's also less forgiving due to the slower fire rate.
Waiting on the lmg aftermarket part to actually use this gun competitively. I got the mastery camo and never touched this gun since. The bullet velocity and ADS speed is what kills it the most.

Given how busted the Basp-B is, I wouldn't mind if they slightly overtune the Sidewinder to have significant less recoil and a 400 or even 450 RPM. With the meta right now, I doubt those changes would be game breaking
From my experience, I believe to utilize this gun very well, you have to be a skilled shooter in MW3. But this gun the Sidewinder does need a Buff, it has potential to be a better long range Battle Rifle and almost compete with the Bas-B if when they Buff the Sidewinder they improve the Recoil control, Fire rate, and actually rate its damage where it’s supposed to be which would grant it a better TTK. The Sidewinder is a Battle Rifle with probably one of the fastest TTK probably coming in behind the Bas-B. But the Buff for it can definitely make it as good or better than the Bas-B that’s probably what they’re avoiding.
i noticed that bug with center speed too. while testing to control recoil in semi auto, after i emptied the magazine, my actual aiming point was almost 50% lower than it should have been according to the recoil plot, which means that i had to account for 50% more recoil during shooting.
I wonder if that's why my hit-reg with this thing is horrible. I have a clip on Xbox of me shooting target dummies, and my bullets are literally just not working. You can see the impact fx, but there's no hitmarker or damage.
I can understand why everyone hates this gun, but I kitted it out with the 10 rd mag, the longest barrel and used it in semi auto and it's my favourite gun to use in the game. it's a lot of fun and adds a lot of variety from the other weapons. a small buff couldn't hurt but that headshot multiplier is already amazing in semi auto
The recoil is just uncontrollable. It actually destroys the entire gun especially since it has probably the slowest fire rate in the game in terms of full auto guns
I love this thing, it feel good to use and is more in line with assault rifles from older games like BF4, I get why the recoil gets hated on compared to others but I love that since it helps limit it's long range performance
For those of you considering using this gun try: Use the Dm56 instead and spam the semi-auto trigger. It will: - Have almost no recoil - Have basically the same rate of fire - Have the same damage - And you'll have a much more pleasant experience Thank me later 😁
The dmg is superior on the sidewinder in semi. The dm56 needs 2 headshots to 2 hit kill (sidewinder only needs 1) and the sidewinder has 0 drop-off, unlike the dm56.

I absolutely love this gun and pick it up all the time as a looted weapon in warzone, had GREAT times with it in MP free trial, but I never had much success with it as a loadout weapon in warzone. Its firing sound sounds manly AF and I think it's controllable with the right setup.
A good buff for this gun would be buffing recenter speed, 400rpm full auto, and a short 5-8m upper chest 2 tap in semi auto. This keeps the high recoil and difficulty but just makes it less horrible feeling while giving it a good niche.
I honestly think that the BRs in this (Bas-B aside) need some buffs to fight the ones from MW2 since even with a high fire rate in semi, the applied recoil just keeps things really tight.
definitely noticed the recoil when first using it. i ended up leveling it up and doing all camo challenges in hardcore where you kill in 1-2 bullets anyway so the recoil never becomes a problem

Future Weapons (TV show from the early 2000s) had an episode where they featured a .50 cal conversation for AR style rifles. Not 50Bmg mind you, but the bullets were short enough to fit in the same sized mag as STANAG 556. I wanna say it had a capacity of 10 rounds. This gun with its .450 bullets reminded me of that gun.
Yeah it's the same concept. This gun is that but for the ACR/MCW. The .50 Beowulf upper that you're referring to is the same.concept as the 458 socom (attachment in 2019, ftac recon in mw2/3)
This gun could be such a beast. It definitely feels VERY strong but that recoil makes it super inconsistent and the fire rate makes it so that if you miss even one shot, its over just admit defeat lol
The health stats are the same as MW2 in hardcore, it’s essentially the same game. That’s why he doesn’t really cover it. If it helps though, every single gun is viable in hardcore lmao. All of them. You can even cross map with that dingy full auto pistol with a 20 round mag that they added. It’s hardcore lol. You shouldn’t need someone to tell you if it’s viable my man hahah. The Sidewinder one shots at all ranges in hc from my experience if that helps.

Not every gun chambered in 5.56 does the same damage in cod, that’s the case with every round as they try balance weapons for fun and not realism (if smgs were realistic for example, they’d be absolutely useless in every cod game lol, especially since every player has body armor in this game. There’s a reason police forces use rifles now instead of smgs) , which is at least semi realistic (not that cod is realistic at all tho). Different rifles have different barrels, making the round fire at different velocities and different fire rates and all that. Idk, the whole “5.56 shouldn’t be able to one shot” argument is just plain stupid. Even .22 caliber rounds can one shot a person anywhere in the body irl if it hits a vein and proper care isn’t applied (though those rounds are classified as “non lethal” for good reason of course). 5.56 one shotting someone is pretty dang realistic is my point lol. It’s a highly effective round that travels at very high velocities and can do significant damage. It may look like a varmint round, but it certainly isn’t.
It's absolutely laughable the Sidewinder's bullet velocity is worse than some SMGs. I don't care if this is a close quarters battle rifle, we shouldn't be in competition with SMGs even when I'm using semi auto at medium range.
My advice for the best Forge of the Sidewinder is everything he put right here, but replace the stock and rear grip with the FSS OLE V Laser, and deadlier ammunition but not incendiary. Also just get a better scope for range & accuracy but the barrel and muzzle are great.
I feel like this is the 1st time that I have a problem with recoil of a gun in cod. Spitfire with wildfire mod was bad as well, but at least it was smooth and consistent.
It's crazy to me that they give us the Sidewinder with all these negatives and slow ROF full auto while making the DG56 marksman rifle be basically the same thing but only semi auto and no recoil.
I like using this in Semi Auto because of the infinite range 2 shot kill combined with fairly spammy rof. Needs a little buff but the gun is far from horrible/unusable imo
The build I was running is very similar. Just had the compensater that is two slots over and underbarrel instead of the rear grip. It wasn't too bad when I had to use it.
For me on PC, I heavily struggle with recoil. Made worse with the vapor trails of the rounds, like the KATT Sniper. All I see on my screen in full auto is vapor trails and lose vision of my enemy in Gulag

The horrendous horizontal recoil and center speed issue along with the fact that the fire rate is so slow is just a disaster recipe. It’s incredibly unforgiving and missing shots penalizes you more than basically every other gun besides snipers. Shame because I thought this might have been that 3-shot monster gun at launch, but I was quickly proven wrong
Honestly, if this thing would re-center after every shot and the recoil was mostly visual, I think it'd be perfect. Like a hyper-accurate BR/DMR hybrid.
When I was doing the camo challenges, this gun in the end with the right attachemnts felt really good! Later when I had all the camos I came back to this gun since I remembered how good it felt with the right attachemnts, and it just kinda sucked.. it was just the contrast of no attachments which is absolute dog shit, to a bad gun with the right attachemnts that made it feel so much better than with nothing on it.
I enjoy it makes me think k of and want the Oden back that gun was a beast. This gun would be too the problem I have is the streaks I see when I think a very very slight dmg buff. And a slight reduction in recoil
I got a 44 killstreak with the Sidewinder and I still think it’s bad. Even with controlling the recoil and having the right attachments, you’ll get the occasional offset bounce which can throw off your aim trying to re-centre and with the slow TTK it will most likely lose you that gunfight as well.
Bro the Bullet velocity is so bad that in Hardcore it will get shot twice before my bullet reaches to the enemy lol. Even the barrel that increases Bullet velocity is very miniscule. This gun needs some serious work.
Close range this thing decimates, will go head to head with any SMG easily. it just gets a bad rap I think because people build for medium to long range and despite being a battle rifle it's just not meant for that.
I low-key like this gun alot but the fire rate holds it back in my opinion. But if you hit your shots and your mostly getting the upper hand on enemies, it can be very devastating! Used it in resurgence and it shreds! But.. the MTZ 762 (i think thats the right name) is better!
The Sidewinder suffers from the same thing the Lachmann 762; horrible visual recoil. The recoil gun kick isn't bad on paper, but as soon as you use a magnifying optic (which you should be using for something like the Sidewinder) the visual recoil just makes the experience really, really horrible.
The fact they called it the sidewinder feels like some kind of cruel sick joke from the developers. I hate this gun with a firey passion after camo grinding with it
The recoil was brutal while I was leveling it, and I did NOT have a good time with it. I also noticed a bug on pc where some times the bullets were visible on the mag while reloading, making it seem like the mag was clear (it's not).
Can you review the time it takes to be able to fire your weapon after spawning in? In shipmas, it's horrible being killed at spawn in while waiting for your gun animation to finish to be able to fire. If I can get killed during that time, I should be able to kill.
There are no combinations of attachments that make this gun usable. When I watch kill cams after losing a shoot out with this gun I see my bullets going all around my opponent like he's Neo from The Matrix.

They just to straight up change the recoil to be less erratic, it’s almost random whether or not you can hit shots with it.

Only the recenter speed is needed. Fire rate buff is fine but the upper chest two tap is not needed. Doesn't belong in 150 health.
This is probably my favorite MW3 weapon. It feel like I’m firing a boltgun from Warhammer 40k except less cool since I can’t hit anything with it

Hardcore damage should based on caliber, but now 556 can still kill people in one shot, kinda bad.

For some reason i had a lot of fun using this gun during my camo grind.
I don't know what it is about slow rate of fire weapons in FPS games, but I love them, and this gun clicked with me instantly.
Its not the rate of fire its the horrendous side to side deviation along with dogshit handling stats when compensating for said deviation

Normally I am not concerned with pistols and snipers but I am very curious to see the Katt vs Stalker gun guides as well as all the pistols in akimbo.

Firing Aim Stability is more useful than horizontal recoil control on the Sidewinder. I give it the HV ammo to help with the clunky bullet velocity.

Believe it or not it does well in Tac stance, bc it’s slow slow close range
I realy wanted to like this gun as i adore slow fire guns like the oden. I went crazy trying to create an accurate warzone build in the firing range.
this is one of the guns i'm not having a good time while grinding for camos.
funny enough if you put a 2.5x sight on the sidewinder the centering isnt an issue at all and actually makes this gun reliable and good

Later when I had all the camos I came back to this gun since I remembered how good it felt with the right attachemnts, and it just kinda sucked.. it was just the contrast of no attachments which is absolute dog shit, to a bad gun with the right attachemnts that made it feel so much better than with nothing on it.
This gun makes the Lachmann 762 feel like a laserbeam.
I enjoy it makes me think k of and want the Oden back that gun was a beast. This gun would be too the problem I have is the streaks I see when I think a very very slight dmg buff. And a slight reduction in recoil

This was the second battle rifle I got gold and idk how I even did it bc it’s such a hard gun to use when all everyone else use is meta
Sidewinder is based on ACR .450 bushmaster, basically the battle rifle version of ACR but with the landed .459 cal
Imo to fix it it just needs a faster fire rate and a bit less recoil

I got a 44 killstreak with the Sidewinder and I still think it’s bad.
Even with controlling the recoil and having the right attachments, you’ll get the occasional offset bounce which can throw off your aim trying to re-centre and with the slow TTK it will most likely lose you that gunfight as well.
Bullet velocity and recoil is the main issue ❤
Bro the Bullet velocity is so bad that in Hardcore it will get shot twice before my bullet reaches to the enemy lol.
Even the barrel that increases Bullet velocity is very miniscule.
This gun needs some serious work.
I like high risk high reward guns. I enjoy the potential for a 160 ms ttk.
Close range this thing decimates, will go head to head with any SMG easily. it just gets a bad rap I think because people build for medium to long range and despite being a battle rifle it's just not meant for that.
I low-key like this gun alot but the fire rate holds it back in my opinion. But if you hit your shots and your mostly getting the upper hand on enemies, it can be very devastating! Used it in resurgence and it shreds! But.. the MTZ 762 (i think thats the right name) is better!

I finished the mastery challenges for this gun in hardcore so I wouldn’t know how bad it is, it just shoots really slow though
The Sidewinder suffers from the same thing the Lachmann 762; horrible visual recoil. The recoil gun kick isn't bad on paper, but as soon as you use a magnifying optic (which you should be using for something like the Sidewinder) the visual recoil just makes the experience really, really horrible.
About to finish getting Interstellar and this gun was by far the worst feeling to use and level, even the snipers gave me less hassle than this.
The fact they called it the sidewinder feels like some kind of cruel sick joke from the developers. I hate this gun with a firey passion after camo grinding with it

2 shots can be fun but they balanced it so its not meta broken. Waiting for the aftermarket to see what it is

The recoil was brutal while I was leveling it, and I did NOT have a good time with it. I also noticed a bug on pc where some times the bullets were visible on the mag while reloading, making it seem like the mag was clear (it's not).
I was playing MEAT to level up guns, with the RAM I was averaging a 3+ kd. Used the sidewinder…. I don’t even wanna talk about it 🙃🙃🙃
the recoil is bad but the bullet velocity also needs a buff because there's zero reason it should be that slow
Can you review the time it takes to be able to fire your weapon after spawning in?
In shipmas, it's horrible being killed at spawn in while waiting for your gun animation to finish to be able to fire.
If I can get killed during that time, I should be able to kill.
double switch weapon at spawn to cancel the animation

I feel like i would love this gun if they SLIGHTLY buffed the fire rate. Like an even 400. And fixed the recoil.
I think the Longbow has the same issue, something feel so wobbly with centering. Sidewinder is irrelevant.
In all my COD years I don't know if there has ever been a rifle with recoil this bad.
There are no combinations of attachments that make this gun usable. When I watch kill cams after losing a shoot out with this gun I see my bullets going all around my opponent like he's Neo from The Matrix.
Yo, so some pros stand by the slate reflector having better aim assist or visual recoil (compared to the Mk 3). Is this true or are some of them drinking placebo shots? I mean clearly they’re probably wrong, but your the dude to ask.
I highly doubt there are any differences that aren't purely visual and it really just comes down to preference at the end of the day
