It's so important that people put out this kind of content on Catholic youtube. We've got a lot of young guys who spend too much time on the internet - myself included - who need to get out there and do more real stuff.
yes, and that time not just 'young guys' spend on the addicting internet (a plandemic) is also quite negative and affects us all - as for myself, I knew this was coming with the 'smart' phone. And it's lonely for those of us not on here day and night. it's scary, sad and pathetic. The porn is a whole other issue. I'll likely be single to the end because it 'rains on every one' and single guys are not men anymore. We ladies in waiting missed all these boats, waiting around for boys to grow up :(

I'm living in Alberta Canada and I truly can't remember the last time it rained. So dry here.
But the Holy Spirit is refreshing 😊

Even the Sun and stars may go dim and cold but Gods love is forever.
There are ways to light fires in wet forests. You may want to watch videos on that in case ever need to know how to do that. Basically shave off the outer part of a piece of wet wood and then try to ignite the inner drier shavings.

People often don't equate Priests with being outdoorsmen. But you proved the opposite. Besides teaching your parishioners and your audience members the teachings of Jesus Christ, you also taught how to be one with nature in building a simple fire. When I worked for a battery store, I sold my confessional priest a pair of batteries for his bass boat. I'm pretty sure not all priests are required to take a vow of poverty. I believe that is a chosen calling.

Did you know that out of birch bark OR something that looks like bark but not quite like a leather is made in Heaven Scroll or PARCHMENT on which Mirjana from Medjugorje received written all 10 Secrets??
That Scroll was tested preliminarly and it was impossible to say as what it was made from.
Just as I saw this clip it came to my mind.
Our Lady urges us not to worry. Believers will be spared any calamity.
It will ALL END UP NOT like some half- hearted folks think. But, everyone is entitled to their perception of what is coming.
Prayers are crucial. Living in harmony with the truth and not giving credence to lies is even more important to our existential value.

I live in Singapore. We don’t have birch bark. And frankly, dear Fr Mark, if you don’t have that flint or gas lighter, you wouldn’t survive either!
You can you grass or small chunks of wood, instead.
Father, I grew up and lived on the farm till my 30's, and you beat me on the stones' circle, I could not make one so perfect as you did it! But one very important thing regarding starting fire in the Woods: If there's a wind, don't do it. 😅 You're a great priest, and thanks to be one! My wife taught me that, always thanks the priest to be a priest! Viva Cristo Rei!🙏🙏

For those new to making a campfire: please only take bark from already downed trees - never live ones; live trees need their bark to survive. Dried leaves work as well - and easier to find. Same goes for the limbs: downed trees only; if you cut it off a live tree, it won't burn as well since a live tree has too much moisture. And, of course, when leaving, make sure the fire is out by pouring water or your coffee over it.
And don't look directly at the sun and don't eat yellow snow and always wear clean underwear.🤣

Birch bark! It was always nice to have some around, I use keep a stash. As an assistant Scoutmaster I would tell the scouts small fires make big fires.
