I'll do one better unlike other fall out characters the courier is not a blank slate fresh out of a vault, he's a tough experienced wastelander that had the determination and fortitude to take a bullet to the head claw his way out of shallow grave and get to help against all odds, his driving motivation 1. Kill Benny and 2. deliver that dang platinum chip like he was originally going to do at the beginning of the game.
Mr. House is the embodiment of *transcendence.* He was the rigger of the game. He was the one who turned all the lights on and lured the NCR and the Legion to the Dam and to New Vegas in the first place. Put out all the stops, sprang into action as soon as he new it was time. If you look at some of his terminal entries and some of his future plans, the man was 1,000 steps ahead. Re-establish high-tech sector within 50 years, human colonies sent off-world to other habitable systems within 100. He isn't just looking at just the dam, rebuilding the nation, or even re-establishing humanity; he's looking to transcend. In all possible ways. That is the idea of his character. So yes The House Always Wins
Courier ending makes more sense to me. House ends on relatively good terms with the NCR--as he had hoped. Meanwhile the Courier--even if you resist the urge to kill Oliver or throw him off the dam--ends really poorly with the general being clear that the NCR will be back and they WILL be going to war...which, as we can see, is what happens at the end with a battlefield of NCR vertibirds and securitrons.
I have a hard time seeing the courier ending being what they go with. Are they gonna keep referring to the ruler of New Vegas as "the courier"? Feels to me like going down that route means they have to either canonize too many details about the courier or really tiptoe around talking about a core piece of New Vegas history
Honestly it looked more like something happened not between the NCR and House but from an exterior threat that pushed them out, which was very possibly the BoS given the state of the West Coast's relation with the NCR and that the Courier likely blew up the BoS bunker. Only reason why I think that the NCR and House aligned for a moment was because it looked like there was a lot more than the NCR Vertibird and the Securitrons, e.g. deathclaws and other stuff that hints at something else. That being said, I definitely think the NCR ending is not canon, because if it was, the NCR would be a lot more organized whereas in the show it is clear that as the NCR soldiers in the Mojave stated during the events of NV, the NCR Army is spread way too thin, and they wouldn't have had the resources they needed to launch an effective retake of the Shady Sands area. It is also likely that Caesar failed in his attempt to assassinate Kimball given that Kimball was a pariah and was driving the NCR into the ground, and should have Kimball died he would've become a Martyr in which the NCR would actually be more invigorated to fight. There is a lot to unpack though, but the Courier/House endings make the most logical sense because frankly the Courier siding with the NCR is less likely than siding with House.
@@SobaOfPulaski If another faction was involved, surely we'd see them among the corpse piles--legion soldiers, brotherhood knights, etc. It looks like the battle was specifically between the Securitrons and the NCR, with maybe the occasional wildlife joining in. I always believed house to be the best ending to vegas because he's the only person in the entire game who isn't completely winging it. He had a plan, long before anyone else started planning. He wasn't interested in ruling, he wanted to rebuild. House doesn't tell people how to live their life, doesn't declare things immoral or illegal, he just makes sure people aren't killing eachother, and that the businesses run smooth. He had a plan to restore humanity to not just a surviving state, but a thriving state; And looking at vegas, not only does he have the ability to do it, he's already done it once before. Yes, freeside is a slum where anyone not rich enough to feed house's coffers get tossed aside, but that's only because he hasn't had the resources to expand vegas and open it up. I think if anyone's going to bring a truly prosperous independent vegas, it's not courier and yes man, it's house, with the courier at his side to keep him in check, someone who house already posed the idea of gifting immortality to.
I really wish they used New Vegas as a way to close off the west coast era of fallout but nope guess the TV show reopened that. I liked the fact that we debated over which ending was canon was fun for me.
@@beastofcornwood I live in New England so that's why I want another east coast fallout game set in Connecticut and yeah West coast is way better from a story perspective.
@@beastofcornwood that would also be really cool! Maybe finally re-explore the idea of cars in the fallout universe in Detroit. Maybe they got the car factories working again somehow
I believe once word got out that Shady Sands had fallen, the NCR in a desperate attempt tried to take New Vegas. This could've set off a chain reaction where all the factions fought for control once the NCR started attacking. Maybe they sabotaged Hoover Dam just to spite House and insure no one could have it. If Yes Man is canon maybe Benny's plan worked in this series, but things fell apart after due the NCR attacked and/or Yes Man possibly going rogue. In the end I think its safe to say that no matter what happened, Mr. House is alive, secured inside the Lucky 38 trying to rebuild New Vegas or as the sole soul of the Strip. I don't know if the show will bring in Mr. House's special securitrons like Jane and Victor.
@@beastofcornwood I looked back at the ending of Lucy's dad approaching New Vegas, as he does a song starts to play, "We three" by the Ink Spots and as the shot switches to New Vegas this line plays: "My echo, my shadow, and me". th-cam.com/video/xftcrkZ7GRE/w-d-xo.html So, to me that could be a stronger implication that Mr. House is the only living being in the city, everyone else is either dead or has fled to the outskirts outside the Strip as you can see campfire smoke rising from some of the small settlements.
3:30 new Vegas being destroyed couldn’t mean anything because if you pay attention to the end credits of every episode it shows a destroyed version of the next episodes setting. Rewatch it.
Yeah but for most of the credits we saw the results of the bombs falling. New Vegas' destruction seems very intentional and detailed with the vertibirds etc like they are hinting that something happened since we last saw it. They could've just shown a ruined Vegas like all the rest but choose to show the remains of a battle, and the snippet of Vegas that we see with Hank doesn't look that far off. Both look they've gone to hell and something happened but we don't know what.
I can see this being the ending if kimball died at hoover dam. It would explain his picture more so in the TV series shrine. As house says he would become a martyr if he dies, goodbye tourist economy hello crippling sanctions. With house taking control NCR would likely have a vendetta against him and look to uproot his authority by any chance they got. With the Legion on the retreat and slowly killing itself they could divert resources to work against house until tensions boiled over.
Hey, I get what you’re saying! My video is just for fun, exploring the idea of Mr. House winning. It's all about the 'what ifs' and having a good time with Fallout’s story. Appreciate you watching!
A lot of people including me take the Mr house ending as canon. And I am a true genuine fallout fan, so I disagree with the creator setting himself up for failure
@Baneofvader the show lore wise is dogass and nobody that takes the Fallout Canon seriously doesn't even consider it. So why bother, I like the point but I'm not basing anything on the studio that's known to kill their games and fuck up lore of other IP's to be a solid basis for anything.
Seems like a variation of the house always wins ending is canon. It might just be the courier delivered the chip but didn't do any follow-up leading to this state of things.
I think Bethesda shot its own timeline to pieces. Shady Sands was wiped out in 2277 (same year Fallout 3 takes place), but New Vegas is a few years later, in 2281. Makes no damn sense
@@MrMadre Yes. And that explains that bait log-list in ep5 end credits where last log is november 2276, but if check back 150yrs, there are multiple large (2,20,10,30yrs) skips between logs anyway, rendering importance of the last log to ZERO. Also explains why Moldaver talk to Lucy in the end, does not add up with overall, nor with Moldaver's own actions, i.e. she lied at least half of what she said. Etc, etc.
I thought this was already confirmed by the community. From a narrative perspective the courier is driven by caps and Mr. House will ultimately provide the greatest incentive for the courier in the long run. There’s too many positives for the courier not to canonically side with Mr. House.
No the reality is this. Todd hates new Vegas and it was stupid for him to make the show start off in California and destroying most of the lore in the process. I do believe the show is probably going to start sucking because of this. They could have so much storyline with the NCR and the Legion, but no. We are going to get another Brotherhood of Steel vs Enclave because Todd has a thing for the brotherhood of steel.
I’m really curious where season 2 would lead. Great video. I personally believe Yes Man is canon, I think it’s likely that Vegas has crumbled due to a lack of government. I find it unlikely that Courier Six would make an appearance, but if Kyle Maclachlan is trying to find House, I think he will be disappointed. If The Ghoul doesn’t have a romance with Beatrix Russell… I will be disappointed.
The cannon ending is none of them because their hasnt been a followup in the obsidian world, for bethesda it doesnt matter either because their version of the NCR and vegas has nothing to do with the actual series's either. Show just proves it since nothing lines up with any lore. But we all know bethesda's series are glorified fangames and fanfiction in the fallout universe anyways.
Thats not true actually, there's a vast amount of Fallout Lore that is deeply intertwined with FNV and Fallout 4 and 76 (Even if I don't like it, it still counts weirdly) But Fallout 4 does have Fallout FNV canonical lore. Proving that both games are in the same world and not "Obsidian vs Bethesda" Scenario.
@@indigowellsYeah, I mean, Bethesda hired Obsidian to make new Fallout game (Vegas) cause Bethesda is stretched out by their projects and Obsidian (formed by some who worked for studio that made FO and FO 2 and regardless of all profits went bankrupt, hmm.., cleptocrats?) needed a real job, cause their own so called projects weren't going nor doing well.. if YES MAN end is the canonical one, it is possible that mr. House had a plan in case he died, Yes Man said he would have to change his Personality and it would take a while, so Mr. House could have copied his memory into a robot
It's hard to watch the series and come to another conclusion to a House ending being canon - I just could never bring myself to it in game. It seems unlikely. Yes - no matter what ending you go with New Vegas you go to - you end up drinking kool-aid for someone that will ultimately destroy the region, but trusting an autocrat with an army of robots to make good choices seems somewhat unlikely when there are few examples from House's history to garner an air of trustworthiness.
Always sided with mr House. He is genius, and always thinking ahead. With resource and his geniuses he can restore order and funded advanced science division to rid post nuclear world problem
the biggest question, to me, it's what happend of courier 6. he/her are the one that can tip the balance of this war. and they know how to deal with the brotherhood in case house (as it probably happened) won at hoower damm. but what's of them? i want to know.
NCR is insufferably weak and corrupt but capable of technological development, Legion has Spirit and that goes much farther than people today give credence to but stifles itself in many ways, House is competent with humanities greatest technology but lacks any ethics and spirit willing to manipulate people with destructive desires same as the worst parts of modernity
whiel i get this is more spculation of what happend we wont really know until season 2 fo rall we know caesar's legion could be thriving aswell the brotherhood of steel are obviously caesars legion fanatics it is showed by what they do and how they ct in the tv series especially their banners they showed in the city perhaps they are a fanaitc of the caesars legion or puppets even we wont really know much on who the big players are until the new season comes out we know the brotherhood enclave maybe and NCR are defintly there in it but so could the legion the credits rolling showed new vegas nearly destroyed alot could be left to speculation
From the beginning you know the end. Mr. House is the only reason the courier survived Benny via Victor. It begins with Mr. House it ends with Mr. House. Just from Victor saving the courier you can tell the Mr. House ending must be cannon if you’re familiar with storytelling techniques.
IVE BEEN SAYING THIS AND PROPLE CALL ME CRAZY!! its obvious, the man saved your life, i highly doubt the courier would just kill him after everything he has done
For me, what made me realize MR House ending is cannon was: when you kill him you lose Karma in the game. Notice you don’t lose Karma when Killing General Oliver, or Lanius, or Caesar. Normally you lose Karma when you kill someone who is (mostly) a good person. I always wondered why killing a narcissistic aristocratic would made me lose Karma
House is probably the second worst ending next to NCR. Only cares about Vegas (not even the Mojave let alone the world itself beyond the Strip's walls, just look at Freeside FFS) because he's using it as a means to generate funding and a workforce and eventually educated people so he can completely abandon the Earth and colonize space. As a megalomaniac dictator, Vault 21 disagreed with his vision for the Strip and he exiled most of them and filled the vault with concrete. What do you think he will do when one of his colonies similarly disagrees with him or seeks independence, in the vacuum of space where nobody will likely be able to stop him ever again? House is a terrible, terrible choice, his only saving grace is that he isn't the NCR. Once he abandons the world he will just leave the Mojave to be fought over yet again by the NCR and Legion, or whoever it may be by that point. His ending accomplishes nothing besides leaving a very morally questionable if not outright bad man the keys to unlimited power.
Has everyone just forgot about the tunnelers? Why? Because it's dlc content? Ulysses warned that within a decade they would become a threat to The Mojave too. Looks like it.
I really hope they'll make House sort of anti hero and won't give clear "bad guys" "good guys" stuff, the beautifulness of west coast that there were no saints. I don't wanna see "muhahahaha I'm evil corporat that makes moni and cares about no one but myself!" After all those things, all those plans he shared with courier in Vegas. House might be arrogant but he is not interested in personal gain, he actually has a plans for future of humanity
I feel like the show suggests that house is the successful one anyway because why would they cast a whole cameo for one scene unless he was to return - seems a little bit hmm
A good writer would let House win, a bad writer would let Cesars Legion win. House has a lot of potential and frankly Vegas is his property. Was it not for him then there would be no Vegas.
You make a very good point, I would agree it is his property. What if the battle of Hoover dam was just a beginning to the next bigger thing in new Vegas? Like it didnt solve anything like how the first battle was a stalemate even though it wasnt a stalemate in new Vegas's ending, what if it's one of those. "Won the battle but not the war" situations.
I think the NCR, BoS, Enclave, and Mr. House are going to be the big players by season 2 for many reason. First off, Moldaver still let Cold Fusion activate even though the brotherhood had already won by then. Chances are, this power reached Vault City, The Hub etc because we havent seen them yet. We know the NCR is still out there, they were just very weakend. Second the Enclave has been mantioned a few times and they seem to be doing fairly well in Cali. The BoS is pretty obvious as nothing really happened to them by the end of Season 1 and the Prydwen is there. Last (as mentioned in the video) is Mr House. He just seems like the most logical answer. That or Yes Man...
Honestly, the level of his personal vault's security is dumbass, plus he's eager to slaughter innocent groups like the Kings and the BoS instead of cooperating with them, but otherwise I like his ending. After all, no matter how many enemies the Courier makes along the way, House is the one with a huge bullseye on his forehead as the employer and curator of Courier's actions.
Very true 🤣 honestly after this video I had a thought to myself, What if the Legion actually won? We see no trace they lost or won like in the tv show they leave them completely out (for now)
You call the Brotherhood an innocent group? Damn you definitely are out of your mind. The kings can be allied with Mr House if you make them attack the Ncr soldiers.
No they wouldn't, their army reserves would be exhausted after the Hoover Dam battle. Plus with technological advancements, Mk. 2 securitrons and trade, the NCR wouldn't invade the Strip.
@@omlo9093 the NCR thought it would win on taking it back from Mr.House. We see the Legion is down, but the end of NV. The general of the NCR tells you they will be back. We can assume the returned tried to fight. They lost a town to getting it nuked. The failure at NV to fully win by taking it. That would likely cause a massive collapse of the NCR. The NCR by the time the show comes around is a shell of what it was prior to NV.
House winning is by far the most interesting canon outcome. NCR and Legion are both boring factions that are too mundane for the Fallout universe. Good-guy military bureaucracy, bad-guy military dictatorship...Fallout shouldn't be about large scale conflicts between nation states. It's about the weird adventures of a lone wanderer. A lone eccentric billionaire with a robot army fits that vibe much better.
Honestly, I think they are going the Fallout Dust route, not fully, but they have the premise that the dust storm mixed with the cloud, the NCR attempted/succeeded in a hostile take-over of the strip, and neither side won. Oh and add a flood of deathclaws from the valley swarming the strip because of the fighting. Explains the redness of the area, the desolation, and the lack of visible human life.
House ending always made the most sense for the Courier to go down, even though I mainly do the NCR route because fuck house for making me betray Veronica.
I always go the peaceful route doing the ncr ending but brokering peace with the brotherhood. I like to be loyal to the brotherhood when I play so keeping them alive is a must but I also didn’t want to kill the ncr bcuz they kept the legion at bay (literally)
“My name is Ozymandias, King of Kings; Look on my Works, ye Mighty, and despair! Nothing beside remains. Round the decay Of that colossal Wreck, boundless and bare The lone and level sands stretch far away.”
Fallout show destroyed FO lore, with no input from the creators of the originals and NV. Tim Cain confirmed as much when he set it straight FO was critic of human nature and war communist China launched dropped the first bombs, and it had nothing to do with "MUH CAPITALISM BAD!!!" NV Obsidian had more devs from Interplay than BGS and the trash show ever will. Using the show to try and prove the game is a counterintuitive oxymoron.
What would be honestly great idea, is to have Lanius move east with rest of the Caesar Legion, keeping them as possible antagonists later down the line.
I thought About the Legion as well, Maybe I will elaborate in future what if the Legion won because I see an argument for that as well, we see NCR and Securitron destroyed but no sign of the Legion what so ever 🧐
@@beastofcornwoodMakes sense, tho if they wanted to show a legion win being canon there would definitely be crosses and legion banners lining the streets since that’s kinda their thing, wherever the legion takes over there is always crosses with their enemies nailed on. (Nipton, forgot the name but the town from Camp Forlorn hope’s quest, and the fort itself). Tho I believe the NCR attempted an attack on Vegas because if they wanted to do so they 100% had the forces to do so without the legion around and like you said Hoover Dam is extremely important to the NCR.
House himself said that he had that chip delived to him from far away. So what is there to say that he doesnt have contacts on the east coast at the time of fallout 3 or earlier
@@beastofcornwoodwe know they are alive at the time of new vegas. He said the chip was only rediscovered in Sunnyvale just before you were tasked with transporting it and ambushed. And we also know that his securitrons barely work at goodsprings, so it's unlikely that he sent Victor rolling across California to meet with prospectors and make business deals. It all points to house having contacts with non robotic entities of status in the NCR territory. People like hank, who would have been outside the vault meeting his wife about the time the platinum chip was found.
Fallout 76 has ties to Mr.House as he has gold reserves in Appalachia so t He most likely had it stashed in either a similar location nearby or in Appalachia itself. Either way 76 confirms he does indeed have contact that far out
Something that would be different and unique that I highly doubt they'd do. Have the Legion ending be canon. And I say that as someone who doesn't even like them. BUT from a storytelling point of view,it'd give a dark, unexpected fate for the mojave. Finding out the courier was an absolute psycopath who helped caesar would be interesting. It'd get rid of the whole every canon protagonist is a good guy trope that bethesda is obsessed with. But moreover,it'd give a good antagonist and a common enemy. Imagine lucy seeing just how evil,I mean EVIL the legion could be and convincing maximus to convince the BOS to team up with the NCR and other factions to take over vegas back again from the legion. I also do question why new vegas looks like it's very dead. I mean,it should be bright, vibrant and expanding and only grown bigger since we last saw it,does make me question what really is going on there. Just my 2 cents
I honestly figured it would be because he's powerful as hell and I believe the ncr and legion would end destroying each other to the point house could push them out of nevada Like, I hope the NCR isn't gone like they make it seem in the tv show but I think it would make sense atleast And I'm a house simp and also writing this at lunch so brain not worky but house is better thank you
The conclusion I can come up with considering games lore and the show, is that house did indeed won, and NCR was too weakened by the ongoing war with the legion and the bombing of shady sands to try and wage war against his upgraded securitrons
If they were to ever continue west coast from a creative writing standpoint I'd have to bet on House followed by NCR being made canon NCR the Courier isn't required to become a critical part of power structure and could fade into background either as an agent or a wanderer but narrative focus for entire region would be kept entirely on the NCR being an old world America copy repeating many of the mistakes of the past with Vegas becoming another state within it. Legion in the hands of a talented writer could be interesting to see dealing with the fallout of Caesar but a talented writer could make any of the endings interesting, Vegas becomes the new heart of their empire but collapse is established as the likely inevitable outcome and wouldn't need a win to see that unless leadership passed to Courier-Augustus which runs into same problem as the courier ending. Courier ending means not only giving a canon outcome but either taking the blank slate to fill in your own character and throwing it out to give them a fixed personality, or avoid doing so by overthrowing or ignoring the region entirely. With House we get Vegas remaining independent, becoming a buffer against eastward expansion, delays an 'east vs west' scenario and takes some of the focus in the region away from the NCR while keeping the courier out of focus either as an enforcer or a wanderer.
I finished NV many times. Chose House on every ending, but one, where I picked Yes-Man. And I felt like shit. So, just to make it better, right after the ending, I replayed it and chose House again. I went with who I felt was the best choice.
How far removed is the shows current day from new Vega's timeline? Few years, decades or a century? Because house had a very clear rotation of plans, new Vegas was only the start and the thing that would supply the liquidity to pursue the actual goal, reignition of the high technology sectors and ultimately colonization of other planets.
Yeah I just wonder what house would of done with himself I mean look at him when you open his chamber, not that he didn't have them plans cause he does but how can he really implement them besides somehow becoming conscious in a AI form?
Idk about all of you but the second they said house would be in Season 2 I put 2 and 2 together, Because (at least to my recollection) all the other endings involve killing Mr. House. Definitely wouldn't be yes man, Legion, or NCR so it left only one answer. I'm more interested on whether or not the followers of the apocalypse good ending arc is cannon.
I have a feeling they will go with the most reddit ass "muh capitalism doesnt work house bad!!!" fanfic tier ending that voids the entire game as all of it meant nothing continuation instead of giving him the well deserved win
How do you see that happening if three of the endings are basically the continuation of capitalist and (semi) free New Vegas with the legion being the only exception and House having some authoritarian tendencies
That was always the point Capitalism is a pre-war idelogy. New Vegas is about how holding onto the past is doomed to fail same with the NCR trying to replicate the Pre war "Democracy"
I like to think Yes man is cannon, and the courier went and released Mr house from his pod, but didn’t kill him and now he’s just hanging outside the pod a crippling old man 😂
Mr House being the canon ending makes sense because he was gonna rebuild Vegas destroy Caesar’s legion the ncr and he was thinking about going to space he upgraded the securitons so he’s pretty frickin powerful
The game was rigged from the start, house was always going to be the victor, that's why VICTOR digs you out your grave, a subtle hint that he was always the winner right from the start
I think that the yes man end will be the cannon one and that mr house wasn't killed by the courier but disconected and lucy or her dad will reactivate house and all his securitrons
Yeah I'm very curious myself, I'm prepared to have it swing any direction too and completely be okay with it. At the end of the day its Bethesda's property now and they will do what they see fit which we cant blame them, it's there intellectual property now and I'm in no way completely on board with how they are screwing the lore up but there isnt much I can do about it so I will enjoy what I find positive out of it you know. Maybe I'm just that much infatuated with Fallout which isnt a bad thing.
i wish they would make a new vegas 2, but with the shit that bethesda did to the lore in the west coast from that shitty tv show really screwed things up
I think that yes Mr. House won. But it could be Yes man same difference. The Events of Dust happen. And now the Tunelers invade as the mist from Sierra Madre looms over New Vegas. Long story short. Fallout Dust is canon

Personally I like the west coast better than east in fallout, just me personally tho.
@@beastofcornwood I live in New England so that's why I want another east coast fallout game set in Connecticut and yeah West coast is way better from a story perspective.
I'm from midwest myself, what's your opinion on if they made one in Detroit or Dallas or somewhere inland?
@@beastofcornwood that would also be really cool! Maybe finally re-explore the idea of cars in the fallout universe in Detroit. Maybe they got the car factories working again somehow
Ohh man I'm seeing something like the Pitt but Detroit and automotive and machinery, would be awesome!
Very interesting perspective! What if it literally is just him and only him..
@@beastofcornwood I looked back at the ending of Lucy's dad approaching New Vegas, as he does a song starts to play, "We three" by the Ink Spots and as the shot switches to New Vegas this line plays: "My echo, my shadow, and me".

So, to me that could be a stronger implication that Mr.
Rewatch it.
Now I'm rewatching them.. if true I'm even more intrigued! Thank you for sharing this!
@@beastofcornwoodmaybe they did that on purpose so it keeps you guessing whether or not, smart on their end.
@duckwipes3365 Agreed, cant wait for season 2.
I never even thought about the implications with president kimball, so many good angles!

@@Baneofvader youre missing the basis of my point
@@AtnH how so
@Baneofvader the show lore wise is dogass and nobody that takes the Fallout Canon seriously doesn't even consider it. So why bother, I like the point but I'm not basing anything on the studio that's known to kill their games and fuck up lore of other IP's to be a solid basis for anything.
The way the show alters the canon makes me think that, if House did win in NV, it would result in an unqualified disaster.
Yeah I think they had some oversights
Shady wasn't wiped out 2277. Instead sometime in 2280s..
Todd said it was shortly after new vegas
@@MrMadre Yes. And that explains that bait log-list in ep5 end credits where last log is november 2276, but if check back 150yrs, there are multiple large (2,20,10,30yrs) skips between logs anyway, rendering importance of the last log to ZERO. Also explains why Moldaver talk to Lucy in the end, does not add up with overall, nor with Moldaver's own actions, i.e. she lied at least half of what she said. Etc, etc.
None of the endings are good/best ending, but I believe firmly that it makes the most sense for House to be the one of Canon
I thought this was already confirmed by the community. From a narrative perspective the courier is driven by caps and Mr. House will ultimately provide the greatest incentive for the courier in the long run. There’s too many positives for the courier not to canonically side with Mr. House.
I usually go with yes man for an independent New Vegas but the House ending definitely makes more sense as Canon. After all The House Always Wins 😁
Agreed, I wonder if them making the quest line called the house always wins Is also a nod by them to say which one is truly canon in the game.
If house won the the vegas Strip would not look like it does in the credits of the show. he a giant robot army with the upgrades
Not necessarily....the ending on fnv does say there were riots after the events of hoover dam...perhaps it's from that and they're rebuilding?
I’d really like to see House somehow get a hold of a synth body in season 2
Now there is a curveball, give bud askins one too while we're at it 🤣
No the reality is this.
I just think he is so petty to hate on new Vegas but what should I expect I guess 🤷♂️
Just to be extra stupid they set the show in California and filmed it in New York
Thank you! And I am also currious where they go with season 2, and Yes Man would be wild lol
The red cloud at the end credits looks a lot like the toxic cloud from the Sierra Madre.
It really does lmao
The cannon ending is none of them because their hasnt been a followup in the obsidian world, for bethesda it doesnt matter either because their version of the NCR and vegas has nothing to do with the actual series's either. Show just proves it since nothing lines up with any lore. But we all know bethesda's series are glorified fangames and fanfiction in the fallout universe anyways.
Thats not true actually, there's a vast amount of Fallout Lore that is deeply intertwined with FNV and Fallout 4 and 76 (Even if I don't like it, it still counts weirdly)
But Fallout 4 does have Fallout FNV canonical lore.

Very possible, just have to wait and see!
drb0sch is the canon ending
It's hard to watch the series and come to another conclusion to a House ending being canon - I just could never bring myself to it in game. It seems unlikely. Yes - no matter what ending you go with New Vegas you go to - you end up drinking kool-aid for someone that will ultimately destroy the region, but trusting an autocrat with an army of robots to make good choices seems somewhat unlikely when there are few examples from House's history to garner an air of trustworthiness.
You make very good points, I appreciated you sharing that perspective! Hope you found the video entertaining!

Honestly looking back it just even felt like the way the game is supposed to end.
Not all stories have to be told the same. This is really dumb endibg. Really hope it isn't.
For me, what made me realize MR House ending is cannon was: when you kill him you lose Karma in the game. Notice you don’t lose Karma when Killing General Oliver, or Lanius, or Caesar. Normally you lose Karma when you kill someone who is (mostly) a good person. I always wondered why killing a narcissistic aristocratic would made me lose Karma
so the best ending is the canon ending. Good
Yes, I think it is!
The only one downside of that ending is you don’t get to throw the general off the dam
Thats if you believe him... on closer inspection it's questionable however.

Has everyone just forgot about the tunnelers? Why? Because it's dlc content? Ulysses warned that within a decade they would become a threat to The Mojave too. Looks like it.

You just made me want season 2 even more 🤣
Honestly, the level of his personal vault's security is dumbass, plus he's eager to slaughter innocent groups like the Kings and the BoS instead of cooperating with them, but otherwise I like his ending. After all, no matter how many enemies the Courier makes along the way, House is the one with a huge bullseye on his forehead as the employer and curator of Courier's actions.
Very true 🤣 honestly after this video I had a thought to myself, What if the Legion actually won? We see no trace they lost or won like in the tv show they leave them completely out (for now)
Innocent haha. Perhaps in Fallout 3 BoS was noble, not anymore.

Still on the side of incomplete House victory but tunnelers came.
The conclusion I can come up with considering games lore and the show, is that house did indeed won, and NCR was too weakened by the ongoing war with the legion and the bombing of shady sands to try and wage war against his upgraded securitrons
That's the same conclusion I'm going with!
Well yeah, for months now
Words can not describe now sad I was when I slowly then suddenly realized NCR was gone
If they were to ever continue west coast from a creative writing standpoint I'd have to bet on House followed by NCR being made canon
NCR the Courier isn't required to become a critical part of power structure and could fade into background either as an agent or a wanderer but narrative focus for entire region would be kept entirely on the NCR being an old world America copy repeating many of the mistakes of the past with Vegas becoming another state within it.
With House we get Vegas remaining independent, becoming a buffer against eastward expansion, delays an 'east vs west' scenario and takes some of the focus in the region away from the NCR while keeping the courier out of focus either as an enforcer or a wanderer.
or the player won and decided to steal houses plan

I’m so glad Mr. House won. He was my favorite ending
I finished NV many times. Chose House on every ending, but one, where I picked Yes-Man. And I felt like shit. So, just to make it better, right after the ending, I replayed it and chose House again. I went with who I felt was the best choice.
That sounds like me lol I have done the others a few but it's either yes man or house for me.
The enclave is also making a comeback

We can only hope for the best!
How do you see that happening if three of the endings are basically the continuation of capitalist and (semi) free New Vegas with the legion being the only exception and House having some authoritarian tendencies
Myself I'm not sure, I'm just along for the ride there taking us on in TV show
That was always the point Capitalism is a pre-war idelogy. New Vegas is about how holding onto the past is doomed to fail same with the NCR trying to replicate the Pre war "Democracy"
@death4metal201 but house doesn't hold to past, he uses the best of it for the common goal. Even though it's clear that he does miss old times

🤣🤣 that gave me a good laugh but yes we do gotta figure out what the landscape is now in the Mojave.
This is interesting. Curious how the show will show lore truth.
Maybe I'm just that much infatuated with Fallout which isnt a bad thing.
i wish they would make a new vegas 2, but with the shit that bethesda did to the lore in the west coast from that shitty tv show really screwed things up
Yeah, I love New Vegas I can just let my instincts flow.
I think that yes Mr. House won. But it could be Yes man same difference.
The Events of Dust happen.
And now the Tunelers invade as the mist from Sierra Madre looms over New Vegas.
Long story short. Fallout Dust is canon
I seen someone else mention Fallout Dust as well lol
