I ate at Coco Curry 4 times. So delicious. Started at spice level 3, then 5, then 10 and finished vith level 20. Level 20 was to much for me. Keep up with all your videos!
meanwhile im level 1 lol
went to saijo hiroshima and got okonomi, was cash money
On a buged you can always go to Yoshinoya, Sukiya and Matsuya. Gyudon always hits the spot. Even for curry. Wanted to go to CoCo but it was full with a long queue. Sukiyas curry was a good alternative.
yes many other options I'd like to explore further in future guides if this is something I see people are intersted in! thanks for the suggestions!
@@NinjaMonkeyguy Glad to help. These 3 restaurants are as common as the Konbinis and deserve their own video 😅
@@geralt7144 Yep this is why i didint feature them because I wanted to go down the 'Less known" apart from COco lol
🥢 love these recommendations
Im glad!
One of my goto Yoshoku (Japan-ised Western cuisine) restaurant chains is Yayoiken. You can find them absolutely everywhere, the price is affordable and the meals are amazingly good value.
thanks for the recommendation :)
I was in Japan last month, and most common restaurants I went to, was coco and marugame seimen udon. I was in both of them in Tokyo, Kyoto and Osaka. I was also in Hanamaru udon, and for me there was no problem to order something.
Can't wait to try Baby! 🥢
It's epic mate ;)
Thank you! Will definitely try the eateries!
Any specific one?!
🥢🥢Thanks again, for your video🎉. Me and my husband did try both Hiroshima and Osaka-style okonomiyaki. Not going to say which one we liked 🤫🥢🥢.
Hahahaha keep the peace hehe
I'd love to hear more about Solo and English speaker friendly spots and eateries espeacially as I'm planning to head to Kansai are (Osaka-Himeji, and a few other places) in time for the autumnal colours next year. 🥢
Most of these locations are solo friendly .. solo travel is awesome I’m happy to look into this topic
Going to Tokyo in a couple of weeks. This is excellent info for a Gaijin! Thank you.
Many of my go tos
So happy you put #3 on the list! I miss it most of all. Where I live in Canada, we have some pretty decent sushi places, izakaya-style restaurants, ramen shops, etc. but no easy way to get Japanese curry unless I make it myself.
Yes, Hiroshima-style for life. I will have to check #1 for my trip this fall. My second time coming to Japan so I'm skipping the major cities other than Tokyo this time, but I almost thought about fitting Hiroshima in just to grab lunch LOL.🥢
This video is making me crave Japanese food 🤤 I’ll have to check out some of these restaurants on my next trip.
Please do!
Thank you so much for this! Definitely want to visit the top 2 you introduced! I'll have to save this and go back, once I'm in Tokyo in November 😊❤🥢🥢🥢Thank you! ❤😊
Thanks so much I hope you do (this is the second time i try to reply to this comment!)
Thanks for the recommendations! 🥢I'm going to japan at the end of May. I dont eat pork and don't drink alcohol so these recommendations are good to see that have alternative menu items
great you have some new options
Thanks again 🥢. Good video
Im glad you liked it and I hope you can or have visited some!!
What? No Yaoyaiken?! That was my favorite budget restaurant when I was there last year. Hehehe. I fell in love with teishoku meals. Keep up the great work my friend.
There are so many more.. If this video is popular I'll be happy to make another!! Thanks for the recommendation!
Great guide worth saving , I never go to these places
For some reason i try to reply to comments but they dont register but hopefully this one does.. You should give these places a go and let me know. what you think!
@@NinjaMonkeyguy yes I will try to make time for proper sit down meals , I don't know if anyone else does this but I'm always eating in the run over there 🤭 your message is showing ok I've had that problem on Instagram
@@FollowTheSunAustralia these locations are perfect then.. quick sit down locations :)
hi ninja , i love your videos ,you are doing a great job ,
Hey, thanks I appreciate it!
Had my first attack of gout in over a year after an evening of too much beer and kushikatsu. Still worth it though.
hehe worth it! i can imagine
Recently Yoshinoya has replaced combini. Coco curry too. Tried level 5-7 so far. Haven't tried 10 yet but will try
Im glad you are venturing away from Conbini (not to say conbini isnt great lol.. some conbini chiken hits the spot!)
Torikizoku is the BEST!
But going to try the others too.
Hiroshima vs. Osaka Okonomiyaki? Both are delicious.
Both are delicious indeed! yes! Toriki is awesome!
🥢been watching your videos, preparing myself for a solo trip. My first ever! Any AYCE reccomendation?
Mmm I don’t have but I’ll look into it ask or search for “Viking”
@@NinjaMonkeyguy Thank you, Ethan. Hope to meet you in one of my trips there.
The biggest challenge that I am facing for my trip is where to eat safely (I'm allergic to items in almost every food group: grain, fish, fruit, vegetable. I can't eat soy either). At least Coco Curry will give me some options for going out! I note some 7-11 have allergen notes on the shelf by the price in English and Japanese. Natural Lawson interests me because they seem to have a variety of 'safe' foods (dried gluten-free fruits, packets of nuts).
I know, if I get stuck, there is always a bag of shredded cabbage... but that's not very interesting is it? LOL
If i were you the very first thing I'd do is book a food tour with an experience reputable company that would 1) take you to some places that suit your needs 2) give you advice on how to move forward during your trip. If you have a big allergy you should check with the kitchen even at Coco before ordering
Now I’m hungry! 🥢
Me too (again)
Torikizoku is the best 🎉🎉
Torikizoku the unsung hero huh!
#1 recomendation for travelers is learn to like beer, because man you get so much more beverage when you order beers than anything else :D
Yes to beer!
Thank you for all of the great recommendations 🥢
Enjoy!
Can nineteen year old go to an izakaya?
Yes
Yep.. just wont be able to order alcohol
🥢
There is コムギlab in Tokyo and Choushimaru Sushi chain but if you cannot speak Japanese it will be hopeless I think ...anyway, most of the crime in Japan is committed by the LDP, they do not like any competition !
Not sure why politics needs to be included but hey
@@NinjaMonkeyguy hmmm,... for Japan, it is always LDP, soka gakkai ... I think it is nice to be a tourist in Japan to have fun ...
@@NinjaMonkeyguy You don't see it directly,... but policy decisions in the ministries are impacting you from the time you land in the airport. It may be interesting to be aware of what is going on in the Diet ...
Great video with superb food advice! side note: I've been creeped out by the kewpie doll baby ever since I was a kid. But, I will be sure to give the chain a try! I enjoy tori izakaya chain and another is the Goma Goma that also seems to be everywhere. Coco Curry, yeah, they even have some shops in LA. Although, Luke has another fav, Champion Curry, which is garnering numerous locations here in LA. I do use Nord, since my EU trip a few years back! 🥢🥢🥢
haha Kewpie
hey, nathan. question. i will be arriving 4.45 pm at haneda airport 15th july. so i think i will be done with everything including withdraw cash and buy suica card around 6pm. should i wait until rush hour is finished around 7.30 pm to take a train or should i just take a taxi to avoid the crowd? i dont want to take a bus. what do you recommend? i dont mind paying more for taxi if its a much better option. how crowded is it from haneda airport to asakusa? i am one person with 1 large luggage
Hey check this out; th-cam.com/video/4v5RUZk6Adc/w-d-xo.htmlsi=zhhIoLd0xxltDccE&t=377 if you're getting the Keikyu line its direct and the fact you're getting it from the airport means it might only get bussier as you get nearer but you'll be fine. try to get a limited express if you can :) hope that helps
❤️❤️❤️❤️ another worthy content 👌🏻 can’t wait to try!😀 🥢
I hope you get to try them all! hehe
Hiroshima-yaki all day, I can't even eat that Osaka stuff anymore! A little surprised not to see any of the gyudon chains mentioned, too obvious? 🥢
Hopefully a part two in the future :) if the video does well
+1 for hiroshima yaki 🥢
im hungry now
🥢
👶🏻🥢
Yes to the baby! haha
🥢
if I have to eat 100% Japanese authentic food I will barf ! ... no wonder Japan took food from China !
