      Wow. I've actually failed at duckweed in three separate tanks. I didn't know to protect them from my hang-on-back.
      Thanx!!!

    Very helpful video. I'd like to know a few basic things that are not covered: 1) Some of my moneyworts came in pots from a LFS with some wooly material in the basket...should I remove them before plating in gravel? 2) What floating plants can is better for moderate light (no special lighting requirement) and will NOT be sucked into the HOB filters? Many thanks! Liked and Saved.

    Great informational video , I would suggest that if you want to tie your plants to rocks or wood use plastic tie wraps I had no luck with fishing line and I do not like the idea of superglue in my aquarium

    Huh this is why circling back on basics is always good to hear I totally forgot about the crown coverage of root plants ie rosette or crypt like species, makes me wonder if this is why I have faced melt here and there in the past not noticing how deep I may have plunge them down into the aquasoil!!!... 🤔 hmm could be!

    I've been watching your videos on aquarium plants with great enthusiasm and even though I keep tropical fish, I am not into live plants. I do know a little bit about gardening, and, one question I would like to ask the plants in the aquarium -- are they affected much by PH when photosynthizing or taking in nutrients. I know some plants have problems taking in nutrients at certain PH. The one I know best is maganese, plants suffer problems taking in maganese nutrition with anything above 6.5 PH (and can cause deficiencies as they'r

    Hi guys I’m new to being a betta father.. I got him as a gift out of no where .. so I had no time to prep or do my proper research on how to have him thrive . Any way it’s been about 5 months things have been well ! I have fallen for the lil guy and now doing my research properly I decided I wanted to add plants for him . The problem is that when I set up his tank I made the mistake of putting Little Rock’s at the bottom of the tank instead of sand.. can I not plant a plant or what can I do?

    What about planting in a tank that is already filled with water? Is it still possible? I have an established tank that has soil but no plants yet. How much more difficult will it be to plant in the substrate while fully submerged? Will the roots of plants struggle to stay secure? Do not want to drain the tank to plant if I do not have to, especially with fish in it. Does anyone have experience with this? 🤔

    I find caring for plants harder than fish. Even "beginner" plants. Only one I've had success with is the Red Tiger Lotus. All mines mostly melted away and never came back or rotted away even though I hadn't submerged the rhizomes.
    Dosed them root tabs and liquid fertilizer. Still didn't work. I keep having to buy new plants, which is really taxing on the wallet.

    What is the light requirement for these plants?

  • @Grand-Massive
    @Grand-Massive ปีที่แล้ว

    The guy at my LFS told me that you shouldn't leave the plant in the rockwool because over a long time it can start to leak nitrates or something in the water. He said it would only happen after a really long time, 3-4 years IIRC. I value his opinion quite a lot. He has the nicest fish store I've been too and he's very helpful and knowledgeable. Do you think there is any merit to what he said? I'm guessing not since you sell a product that is designed to hold potted plants.

    • @nirvanaquatics
      @nirvanaquatics ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Rockwoll is inert, so this is very unlikely.

    • @Grand-Massive

    Do you know why my watershield plants are getting holes on it? Like something is eating it, but there's no worms in my tank. Just a few fish and snail.

    i cant get my stalky plants to stay in place, they just turn black at the base and they get uprooted. I even tried in a deep substrate dirted tank with no fish to uproot them, what gives?

    I am paying a motza for Aquarium plants at the local pet shop because I have one very destructive male comet gold fish. I easily pay $30 a month on plants and they dont even last 2 weeks. I have never grown aquarium plants before and I am not great at normal potted plants either! My tank only has normal small stones and no soil substrate. What would be the best plant for me to start trying to grow? I have a small 30litre tank that is spare that I can use. I just need to find a way to slow this shark of a gold fish down, because he eats more money out of my bank than any other pet we own!

    Doesn’t the glue dissolve in the water and poison the animals?

    • @andtipidee
      @andtipidee 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      You need to purchase glue that is aquarium safe. Obviously, you cannot use craft glue as it dissolves in water. You can search up aquarium glue and purchase it online or in pet shops.
