I've beaten this game for multiple times, tried as many guns as possible. The weakest combination I used to beat the story mode is Kar98 3000 + AK47. Only need 7,62mm ammo so you can sell others.
Kar 98 3000 is underrated. You can buy enhanced version in sprigfield with golds (not so much of them) but you have to wait for best one. I have version with 100 basic damage. With upgraded firearms for full, and shooting into the head you can always kill almost all zombies with 1 bullet. You can beat the game with that with ease. Critical hits deals damage around solid 2000.

For everyone who are tired of saving silver coins.... Here's a simple hack that does not violate the game rules.... Simply go to open world, then visit a location that has a mountain area( or an area that shows a small picture of a mountain ⛰️ like this) go towards the mountain in the map then go near a pla ce that has a treasure wooden sign board, dig that area with a shovel, you'll find a chest that will give you coins. After opening the chest see if any zombie is attacking you, make sure you are not under attack. After opening the chest close the game and reopen the game and enter the same place and visit the same treasure chest area and dig it again. Do this multiple times to farm coins easily and quickly without wasting any resources. Before you close the game and reopen it make sure you are safe and no zombie is attacking you or is coming to attack you. If you close the game under attack you will die and respawn in the center of open world and your resources will be lost. Its a simple trick that hasn't been solved in the updates so make sure you make good use cause I don't know when they will fix this. Edit: it still works, enjoy my gamer homies ❤️

Omerta Shotgun => My favorite sawed off in the game => Gives "DOOM" vibes to the game => literally 2 shots Zombie Puker Pro (Headshots with advanced shotgun ammo) 3.) Vinotrez Sniper => OMG Full auto sniper! => can be used both as a sniper and as an SMG => Quickly kills smaller zombies 4.) Scar => The best AR in the game => Quickly kills any zombie in question => Headshots with Advanced ammo are highly lethal

Same, i got the M202, laser sniper, laser pistol, kar 98 3000, normal scar, smg 3000, and the 1911 just to get the zombies attention from long ranges for my barrel farming technique lol. Lvl 98 tho so, i been looking for the best guns😂😂 All energo armor, check the stats of the armors online. I dont plan on getting hit so its kinda unless to buy armor with money when you can upgrade to curing and fet the regen perk, plus the places you can buy make infinite bandages. You have to buy a new gun for the animtion😂😂M202 is definitely worth the money😂😂😂
For woodlands, you don't need to buy any guns, just use the one that the people give you. In springfield, you can buy kar98 3000, this have the highest damage. In city of the sun, you can buy the aa12 for additional damage and lastly on northtown buy the rifle 3000

For me I think laser rifle is the best but the only problem is the ammo but everyone have their own opinion :) . The 2 guns that I used the most is also the rifle3000 and aa12. I only used smg 3000 if i have low ammo on rifle 3000 and aa12 :)

Just because I'm bored I'll attempt to answer both questions. The easiest way I've found to raise firearm damage is to get as many beginner's guide as possible but don't read any books besides encyclopedias til you have both reading and bookworm and to get them early. I got them at lvl 15. If you have gold, upgrading gun's base damage also raises bonus damage. I don't plan to spend any points on firearms except 1 or 2 to put me at exactly 99 and 149. At 99 I'll wait til I have a book and maybe get a freebie if it gives me 102 instead of 101. Same thing for 149. Going to try do same for all skills I find books for. Speech could be really cool if I get 105 at 99 because book gives 6 but after 100 to 149 each point costs 2 so I may only get 103½. Then at 150 each point costs 3. There is also a perk or two to add bonus damage and the strength soda and the daily wheel and the wheel at the start of each encounter. All bonus damage is determined by base damage so spending the gold to raise base can pay off and is maybe one of best ways to spend gold since the bonus is what it appears to be unlike most in this game. Example: Getting scavenger does not mean you get 40% of value when selling. It means you get an extra 15% more than the 25% you normally get on scrap only so all the spendy gear isn't affected and ultimately you get 28.75% instead of the measly 25% a peasant would settle for. Trading is x% of the standard 25% meaning 20 skill points gets you 5% savings. And driving is x% of 30% so here you get 6% extra savings for 20 points not a total of 20% plus 30% making 50%. Sorry but that isn't how it works. Defense is even worse. As to how to make money. Just have to go old school and grind. Or go with an unsanctioned mod on a device without internet. Otherwise it's the same missions over and over hundreds, maybe thousands of times. Diligence. Conservation. Perseverance. In all respects. Kill every foe. Keep all your "charging" options charging meaning the two free gas options and others (house generators, travel trader, mission complete rewards, and so on) should never be full. The large tank fills full in 12hrs so at 50 gal it takes 14 minutes 24 seconds for 1 gallon to fill. First no loss collection can be made at 72 minutes at 5 gallons. Try to collect as close to when a new full gallon has first registered as possible. The smaller tanks cap at 5 or 6 so keep that from maxing out if you can. Plan for bonus gas at lvl up and leave room so that it's not wasted, and do multiple missions during one outing, as many as you can without over filling your inventory. Get good student as first perk and focus spending skill points approximately on trading (60%) and driving (20%), personal preference is to be expected, with a little left to go to health, defense, etc. Scavenger 1 and 2 are good but not so much as trading. Trading can give 50% off at 200 points (which will cost 350 points) but that's everything bought from traders and stuff for gold from character menu. Scavenger 1 and 2 together give an extra 7.5% (3.75% each) to the 25% when selling scrap only so not great. Conserve ammo with headshots, grouping and bombing, melee when safe which finding cars, barrels, debris, and even trailer turrets that you can climb on can cause you to register as off map and enemies will gather but not be able to reach you allowing you to melee at will. Try it on Woodlands Ace's defense repeating mission. Just "climb" onto turret, select use, then cancel out and don't move yourself, just move your view\targeting. Go slow. Rushing through missions wastes ammo, healing supplies, in stage drops like safes, even drops from foes. Buy nothing besides books, armor, 2 guns max carried with 1 decent melee weapon until final ax or machete. Both have same damage on paper. Ax hits 2xDmg but machete hits 2x #attacks. I'm going with ax for bigger crit dmg. Use brain pill when making any big purchase. Buying houses\Apt are ok but take soooooo long to see a return and you have to be on them never letting them sit idle. Treasure maps have a bonus that you get a shovel worth 280 every time and if you don't bring one can get one from the travel with trader at the beginning of the mission before you pick up the one in stage. Travel trader will also give you 2 (mk2 grenades) when you reach Springfield if one of your equipped weapons is a melee at the beginning of the mission. If you bring a weapon with no ammo on you, travel trader will supply some. He has 12 uses at full charge so I'm guessing 2hrs per one charge but haven't verified. Just keep about 3 uses in case you need ammo or health or in a mission with no shovel and need to dig. Pinch every penny. Stretch every dollar. Trash nothing. Regen health naturally instead of using supplies when safe. Use less valuable resources and sell the more expensive. Example is all three grenades from redeem codes (pineapple, rugby, and snow) all same as mk2 advanced at 400 dmg. But code bombs only worth 200. Mk2 adv are worth 400. Use code bombs first (also freeing inventory space) and sell the mk2s. Can also spam Ace til he gives up triple reward missions but that can add more tedium. There is no big gaming loophole here unfortunately. Playing while online is probably the biggest requirement since it's needed for all the ad bonuses. So you need 40k silver and you can only make 400 at most with current missions and character lvl, then you doing 400 mission about 100 times, minus whatever you make selling the dropped loot. I just started playing but if there is a glitch or loophole I'll probably find it. It's kinda my thing. I'm the original kind of game hacker. I don't alter the code, I just notice the flaws that exist and then poke and prod and try to see how I can make it benefit me. I did crazy stuff with Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion. Barely out of the jail cell I found a glitch that allowed me unlimited item duplication, unlimited gold, all summoned gear could be made permanent so fully equipped didn't count against carry capacity, and unlimited potion ingredients allowed me to find a combo that could 1 shot kill almost anything with 4 different effects all at once attacking health, stamina, and mana plus status effect like slow or death or some such thing. It was awesome.
Update: Reading a book at 99 skill points does essentially give FREE SKILL POINTS. For books that give 3 points (must have Bookworm perk) it will put you at 102 not chargingyou for the double point cost. Same with 6 point book so 99 to 105 which is the same as 11 free skill point. I expect the same at 149 but have to see how books work in the 100-149 range. Best way of making silver coins I have found is spamming the set of Ace's missions on Hard Difficulty in whatever city is most recently unlocked for you. They are relatively short getting faster the more you do them, straight forward with few surprises good or bad, and worth considerable XP for whatever your level of completion may be. It is also advised to do the missions in a circuit to help decrease gas usage. Maxing out Trading skill is best way to reduce spending costs if avoiding is not possible. 350 skill points for max level but worth it. Doesn't help with making money at all. Only lowers spending. To help with skill points, taking Nothing as first perk then Good Student with 1 of the points Nothing gives you is important. Then taking Skilled perk at a level of 12, 24, 36, or 48 will also be necessary. No levels are wasted as far as perks at the levels listed. DO NOT TAKE SCAVENGER OR BY HOUSES. If later in the game you have excess perk points or coins only then should any player waste resources on these. Scavenger is a huge fake out giving less than 4 coins per 100 made selling scrap. The first house for 5k plus 15k in upgrades to the number of slots needs to be collected when filled and sold 80 times to break even. Real world possibility is 5 collections per day meaning minimum of 16 days to recover the 20k spent if you never fail to check in every 4 hours for 16 days. Upgrades to reduce production time only result in more spending and increased check-ins in order to maximize the return on what is spent. This is just another distraction and best to be avoided early on if not completely. Best non-paywall firearm is by far the Kar98 3000 bought with gold from the player menu. Wait til the version with a base attack of 70 appears and base cost is about 1000 gold minus 1% for every 4 points in the trading skill. With max firearms skill, gun upgrades, and advanced ammo this gun will do a base damage of 300 points for a normal shot, 900 for a head shot, and almost 2000 for a critical head shot. Daily and Mission bonus wheels add more. The attack speed and reload speed will also be better than the trader version but the best possible is unknown now and could take a long time to get all three at same time. If you are concerned about it, reload speed is more important so try for 70 attack and around 2.5 reload. This gun will MAKE YOU THE MOST SILVER COINS by letting you sell all other size rounds and combining it with the perks Sharpshooter and Zombie Hunter (Openworld Center) and also the Badass perk in Openworld is great for any player but that's for xp not coins. The most profitable in Openworld is the Trading Post if you want gold coins. Silver is good in that I THINK you get 1.25x the base value ( I may be off but by only a little) of the requested items you are trading with an extra 5% for every level of the trading post after the first. Meaning that at first level a water bottle is value 40 silver, sells for 10 silver, in a trade earns you 50 silver. Its item value times number of items and add 25% to find what you make for the trade. That is 5x (to about 7x at full upgrade) the coins you get for selling the item. Trading Post and Base Camp are most worth upgrading the rest is up to the player and style of gameplay. Personally Radio is also worth upgrade, hospital upgrades seem to be broken/not working and 2 or 3 in gas lab if desired is ok. I'm unaware of any extra reward for full upgrade. Also it's better to make gas and sell since it makes more than just selling the components used to make the gas. Openworld may allow you a larger haul but is likely to require more time and more gasoline especially early on. Honestly I think the openworld gameplay for the most part is another distraction. Stick to story content and Ace's sets of mission by city. MOST IMPORTANT FOR MAKING EXTRA GOLD AND SILVER COINS IS TO HAVE INTERNET ACCESS WHEN PLAYING AND WATCH ALL ADS AVAILABLE. Do all random encounters possible for the lucky wheel bonus and chance for safe if nothing else.

Also used it nearly from the first moment I could buy it to the last mission in northtown. It goes well and you have almost no problems with killing it but its still slightly worst then the other weapons

You find those later in the game if your in Springfield go for the kar98 3000 and the AK-47 or I forgot but some other automatic and In city of the sun scar and AA12 north Town smg 3000 or one of the guns he showed like rifle 3000

Laser rifle sucks the most Among this 4, I would replace it with SCAR, what do you think is the best COMBO? What I meant by that is that your inventory can fit two guns, which two guns together is the best? I'm definitely taking rifle 3000 but I don't know what the other should be, is either just aa-12 or smg 3000, no premium guns
For me I think laser rifle is the best but the only problem is the ammo but everyone have their own opinion :) . The 2 guns that I used the most is also the rifle3000 and aa12. I only used smg 3000 if i have low ammo on rifle 3000 and aa12 :)

Just because I'm bored I'll attempt to answer both questions.
The easiest way I've found to raise firearm damage is to get as many beginner's guide as possible but don't read any books besides encyclopedias til you have both reading and bookworm and to get them early. I got them at lvl 15. If you have gold, upgrading gun's base damage also raises bonus damage. I don't plan to spend any points on firearms except 1 or 2 to put me at exactly 99 and 149. At 99 I'll wait til I have a book and maybe get a freebie if it gives me 102 instead of 101. Same thing for 149. Going to try do same for all skills I find books for. Speech could be really cool if I get 105 at 99 because book gives 6 but after 100 to 149 each point costs 2 so I may only get 103½. Then at 150 each point costs 3. There is also a perk or two to add bonus damage and the strength soda and the daily wheel and the wheel at the start of each encounter. All bonus damage is determined by base damage so spending the gold to raise base can pay off and is maybe one of best ways to spend gold since the bonus is what it appears to be unlike most in this game. Example: Getting scavenger does not mean you get 40% of value when selling. It means you get an extra 15% more than the 25% you normally get on scrap only so all the spendy gear isn't affected and ultimately you get 28.75% instead of the measly 25% a peasant would settle for. Trading is x% of the standard 25% meaning 20 skill points gets you 5% savings. And driving is x% of 30% so here you get 6% extra savings for 20 points not a total of 20% plus 30% making 50%. Sorry but that isn't how it works. Defense is even worse.
As to how to make money. Just have to go old school and grind. Or go with an unsanctioned mod on a device without internet. Otherwise it's the same missions over and over hundreds, maybe thousands of times. Diligence. Conservation. Perseverance. In all respects. Kill every foe. Keep all your "charging" options charging meaning the two free gas options and others (house generators, travel trader, mission complete rewards, and so on) should never be full. The large tank fills full in 12hrs so at 50 gal it takes 14 minutes 24 seconds for 1 gallon to fill. First no loss collection can be made at 72 minutes at 5 gallons. Try to collect as close to when a new full gallon has first registered as possible. The smaller tanks cap at 5 or 6 so keep that from maxing out if you can. Plan for bonus gas at lvl up and leave room so that it's not wasted, and do multiple missions during one outing, as many as you can without over filling your inventory. Get good student as first perk and focus spending skill points approximately on trading (60%) and driving (20%), personal preference is to be expected, with a little left to go to health, defense, etc. Scavenger 1 and 2 are good but not so much as trading. Trading can give 50% off at 200 points (which will cost 350 points) but that's everything bought from traders and stuff for gold from character menu. Scavenger 1 and 2 together give an extra 7.5% (3.75% each) to the 25% when selling scrap only so not great. Conserve ammo with headshots, grouping and bombing, melee when safe which finding cars, barrels, debris, and even trailer turrets that you can climb on can cause you to register as off map and enemies will gather but not be able to reach you allowing you to melee at will. Try it on Woodlands Ace's defense repeating mission. Just "climb" onto turret, select use, then cancel out and don't move yourself, just move your view\targeting. Go slow. Rushing through missions wastes ammo, healing supplies, in stage drops like safes, even drops from foes. Buy nothing besides books, armor, 2 guns max carried with 1 decent melee weapon until final ax or machete. Both have same damage on paper. Ax hits 2xDmg but machete hits 2x #attacks. I'm going with ax for bigger crit dmg. Use brain pill when making any big purchase. Buying houses\Apt are ok but take soooooo long to see a return and you have to be on them never letting them sit idle. Treasure maps have a bonus that you get a shovel worth 280 every time and if you don't bring one can get one from the travel with trader at the beginning of the mission before you pick up the one in stage. Travel trader will also give you 2 (mk2 grenades) when you reach Springfield if one of your equipped weapons is a melee at the beginning of the mission. If you bring a weapon with no ammo on you, travel trader will supply some. He has 12 uses at full charge so I'm guessing 2hrs per one charge but haven't verified. Just keep about 3 uses in case you need ammo or health or in a mission with no shovel and need to dig. Pinch every penny. Stretch every dollar. Trash nothing. Regen health naturally instead of using supplies when safe. Use less valuable resources and sell the more expensive. Example is all three grenades from redeem codes (pineapple, rugby, and snow) all same as mk2 advanced at 400 dmg. But code bombs only worth 200. Mk2 adv are worth 400. Use code bombs first (also freeing inventory space) and sell the mk2s. Can also spam Ace til he gives up triple reward missions but that can add more tedium. There is no big gaming loophole here unfortunately. Playing while online is probably the biggest requirement since it's needed for all the ad bonuses. So you need 40k silver and you can only make 400 at most with current missions and character lvl, then you doing 400 mission about 100 times, minus whatever you make selling the dropped loot. I just started playing but if there is a glitch or loophole I'll probably find it. It's kinda my thing. I'm the original kind of game hacker. I don't alter the code, I just notice the flaws that exist and then poke and prod and try to see how I can make it benefit me. I did crazy stuff with Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion. Barely out of the jail cell I found a glitch that allowed me unlimited item duplication, unlimited gold, all summoned gear could be made permanent so fully equipped didn't count against carry capacity, and unlimited potion ingredients allowed me to find a combo that could 1 shot kill almost anything with 4 different effects all at once attacking health, stamina, and mana plus status effect like slow or death or some such thing. It was awesome.
Update: Reading a book at 99 skill points does essentially give FREE SKILL POINTS. For books that give 3 points (must have Bookworm perk) it will put you at 102 not chargingyou for the double point cost. Same with 6 point book so 99 to 105 which is the same as 11 free skill point. I expect the same at 149 but have to see how books work in the 100-149 range.
Best way of making silver coins I have found is spamming the set of Ace's missions on Hard Difficulty in whatever city is most recently unlocked for you. They are relatively short getting faster the more you do them, straight forward with few surprises good or bad, and worth considerable XP for whatever your level of completion may be. It is also advised to do the missions in a circuit to help decrease gas usage.
Maxing out Trading skill is best way to reduce spending costs if avoiding is not possible. 350 skill points for max level but worth it. Doesn't help with making money at all. Only lowers spending. To help with skill points, taking Nothing as first perk then Good Student with 1 of the points Nothing gives you is important. Then taking Skilled perk at a level of 12, 24, 36, or 48 will also be necessary. No levels are wasted as far as perks at the levels listed.
DO NOT TAKE SCAVENGER OR BY HOUSES. If later in the game you have excess perk points or coins only then should any player waste resources on these. Scavenger is a huge fake out giving less than 4 coins per 100 made selling scrap. The first house for 5k plus 15k in upgrades to the number of slots needs to be collected when filled and sold 80 times to break even. Real world possibility is 5 collections per day meaning minimum of 16 days to recover the 20k spent if you never fail to check in every 4 hours for 16 days. Upgrades to reduce production time only result in more spending and increased check-ins in order to maximize the return on what is spent. This is just another distraction and best to be avoided early on if not completely.
Best non-paywall firearm is by far the Kar98 3000 bought with gold from the player menu. Wait til the version with a base attack of 70 appears and base cost is about 1000 gold minus 1% for every 4 points in the trading skill. With max firearms skill, gun upgrades, and advanced ammo this gun will do a base damage of 300 points for a normal shot, 900 for a head shot, and almost 2000 for a critical head shot. Daily and Mission bonus wheels add more. The attack speed and reload speed will also be better than the trader version but the best possible is unknown now and could take a long time to get all three at same time. If you are concerned about it, reload speed is more important so try for 70 attack and around 2.5 reload. This gun will MAKE YOU THE MOST SILVER COINS by letting you sell all other size rounds and combining it with the perks Sharpshooter and Zombie Hunter (Openworld Center) and also the Badass perk in Openworld is great for any player but that's for xp not coins.
The most profitable in Openworld is the Trading Post if you want gold coins. Silver is good in that I THINK you get 1.25x the base value ( I may be off but by only a little) of the requested items you are trading with an extra 5% for every level of the trading post after the first. Meaning that at first level a water bottle is value 40 silver, sells for 10 silver, in a trade earns you 50 silver. Its item value times number of items and add 25% to find what you make for the trade. That is 5x (to about 7x at full upgrade) the coins you get for selling the item.
Trading Post and Base Camp are most worth upgrading the rest is up to the player and style of gameplay. Personally Radio is also worth upgrade, hospital upgrades seem to be broken/not working and 2 or 3 in gas lab if desired is ok. I'm unaware of any extra reward for full upgrade. Also it's better to make gas and sell since it makes more than just selling the components used to make the gas. Openworld may allow you a larger haul but is likely to require more time and more gasoline especially early on. Honestly I think the openworld gameplay for the most part is another distraction. Stick to story content and Ace's sets of mission by city.
MOST IMPORTANT FOR MAKING EXTRA GOLD AND SILVER COINS IS TO HAVE INTERNET ACCESS WHEN PLAYING AND WATCH ALL ADS AVAILABLE. Do all random encounters possible for the lucky wheel bonus and chance for safe if nothing else.
My favorite gun is mini gun, next is AK-47 Mac upgrade next is scar. Next is AA12
