    I remember working as a bike messenger in Philadelphia in 1999-2000. I was at Love Park, and had my bike hanging from a tree by the seat at the top of the fountain. Chris was there for a photo shoot, and was hitting a bench down the first stair set to the side. I felt like I was in the way so I offered to move and take my bike out of the tree. The photographer stopped me and said the bike was "the whole shot." A few weeks later, I was looking at a skate mag in Rittenhouse Square, and there was my bike in a sequence. I felt like I had made it lol.

    About the spacers. 100% put them in. They're a pain to get them to work properly but it's so worth it. They need to be very slightly wider than the wheel core, if not use a very thin speed washer to widen them inside the wheel. Tighten the wheel nut snug all the way down, hand tight but don't go crazy as you will deform the bearing race and they'll slow and click and pop. This is why it's so worth it. Because the assembly is now a solid unit your truck axle is now around 12mm thick as apposed to being 8mm. You're much less likely bend an axle now. The bearings will be held in perfect alignment and last forever and roll free and faster due to zero side loading slowing them down. No more axle slip ever!!! The only negative is your board will sound different. Like mutated and quiet and very smooth but after a few weeks I got used to it. The wheel should still spin just as free as when the nut is loose. You will have a faster, more efficient board.

    • @13bro45
      @13bro45 9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Skating is a lot about the feedback you get from the board. Half the pleasure in riding is hearing the acoustics of a skateboard. Absolutely savage wheel screech from a fat powerslide or a tail slide on transition is something i cant ever give up. If it means i need bearings every 3 months or so then so be it. Even the sound of popping the board up into your hand and throwing down.

    Really good episode, guys. Very informative. Two very quick things. One: I believe in spacers and always have. Two: it’s a fine solution but instead of taking my trucks apart to sprinkle graphite powder in my pivot cup I spray WD-40, another lock lubrication product, in the pivot cup

    • @mr.neqtan
      @mr.neqtan 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Wd-40 is not a good product for plastics. Spray silicone lubricant would be optimal. Have to clean up any excess for sake of debris collecting.

Ive heard of alot of things tbh, ive never heard graphite tho this is ltierally the first time ive heard anyone say that lmao. WD-40 is like the morons liquid to loosen anything up, it shouldnt be used like that. It probably will dry out and mess up the eruthane the cups are made out of. Ur better off using wax honestly

    I don’t think that’s how it works... if your ankle has tension then it offers more resistance to rolling and tearing your ligaments... spacer saves your bearings by pinching the bearing race together thus your bearing spins proper .. doesnt stop your axles slipping at all !

    • @MrWookieewonder

      It will help reduce the chances of axle slip if you do the wheel nuts up snug.

      @@MrWookieewonder true might reduce , but in 30 years of running spacers and snug nuts .. crap trucks will still slip . axle should never slip even when u grinding through it . never had a indy slip since like stage 6's ? older indys slipped.

    This what i tell people sometimes...
    Wanting nothing to do with God is like this...
    Suppose my birthday was next week.. I invite everybody to come!😊 friends, strangers, everybody...
    The special day comes!😁 and I show up to my party!
    And everybody ignores me😢 I got snacks and food ready for my guests.. I hired live bands to play music.. I got my guests gift bags..
    I paid a price to have my party and I show up... AND EVERYBODY ignores me ): even more they show disinterest in me.. even contempt..
    But I did this for us😢 I made this party for us to enjoy together.
