The battery has just died in one of my windows after 5 years service. Can the battery be replaced or do you need to buy a brand new unit?

Are the VCM & VCS models manufactured differently in the UK, as the USA support said they are and can't be converted...
    Going to get Abby6 feedback...

Can this be installed without the need for roof access?

How far can the window open ? And can this be automated depending on the weather outside.

One of my 3 Velux windows is motorised with a solar panel. It opens to about 45° from the closed position. It includes a rain sensor that will close the window when it rains. If it has stopped raining but there is significant rain still on the window it won't open remotely. I'm hoping to upgrade one of the others myself this spring.

I have 4 big sk06 velux windows, I can't afford to have this on all 4 but if I wanted 2 do the electric wires plug into one?

Yep. My centre pivot windows open about 40cm. I suppose it depends on the size of the window how much it can open. It opens up basically flat if that helps? You need the Velux HUB with Co2/temp and RH sensor to automate them. All ties into your home system of choice. Your windows/shutters/blinds need to be IO or Electra enabled to work of course & that can be mains or solar powered depending on what Velux decide to offer. The Velux HUB won’t do anything for manual windows/blinds/shutters of course.

@@misssimmi2 solar is much easier to retrofit. No need for an electrician visit and works even when the powers out.

Anyone know if a conversion kit is in the pipeline for a GPLSK10? I’d happily take 2.

You skipped the metal spring replacement which is gnarly to replace....

really? you're not going to show the electric opening?

Can you retro fit a solar auto rain sensor as well?

    • @ahoyskid

the solar kit comes with the rain sensor too. If a Velux window is electric whether that’s solar or t mains they automatically close when it rains.

How do you plug in the solar panel ? Where does it plug in ? Where does the wire go. This is only half a video

Very poor 'training '. Are you even an installer?
