I've got a gunnera. I'm moving mine even further away to the end of my pond as its leaves are huge

Yes they need so much space.

Top tips as always. I'm growing a gunnera, plus I have small Colocasia in a pot indoors. Also a large musa basjoo, that's stays in the frost-free conservatory over winter. The ginger and Pineapple lilies flowered really well this year too. I like pushing the boundaries of planting in Glasgow!

I would consider putting a root barrier along the bamboos to keep their roots and more importantly the roots of your neighbors conifer away from the shef. and the gunnera, since you don’t want the roots of those moisture loving plants having to compete for water. ~ That gunnera is going to get huge.

I now what you mean about those conifers. I might see if I can get rid of them soon. There roots were more extensive than I thought when I was digging over the area.

I think this coming week is the week to lift them. Some possible wintry weather on the way.

What's are the differences between Gunnera manicata and Gunnera tinctoria? Here in central Europe I believe Gunnera tinctoria is actually forbidden due to its invasiveness, which only shows that it's the hardier of the two.

Anyone know If a wicking pot would work for a juvinle gm? Or maybe a pot sitting in a Tupperware container filled with just enough water to cover the holes in bottom of pot the plant is in? Trying to come up with good ideas to prevent drying out of plant
