- Welcome everyone to my Christmas 2022 special!
We decided to swap our December holiday from the usual going home in ice cold snowed Europe to a nice and warm Sri Lanka!
It’s been a year full of work so we deserve it.
And as is due, what are the season holidays without your family?
And what’s the best airline to fly with your family?! Emirates!
Come and join us on this special family trip and see some of the nice details that await you this season when flying Emirates. We were pleasantly surprised yet again.
We’re flying to Colombo via Male. While there are some direct flights, why going direct if you can have a stop in the scenic Maldives for the same price?
I wish everyone a very happy 2023 all those who celebrate Christmas a magical time.

Loved this blog with ur family in it. Love the fact that Emirates crew comes and gives the kids something and the amount of entertainment they have on the ICE. There’s a reason why they are the No 1 airline. Love the book you are creating for your son, he’s really going to cherish that book and the memories. Wish I thought of that idea and started that when he was younger. I agree start taking them on a plane young and they get used to it. My son who is 7 loves going on planes, he’s a more experienced flyer than my wife 😂

The flight looks more comfortable on video than it actually was, my son likes to hang out a lot with his dad so it was his nanny who actually had the most comfortable flight and who ended up finishing a movie😂

I fly a lot with my son, but it’s always so hard to film.. I have to keep him entertained and he wants a window too😂
Emirates flies 5 times a day to Male, it’s an insanely busy route. And a gold mine as the fares are incredibly high there.

The winds are blowing quite easterly today in uae due to 12L . The drink clearly at 15:17 shows the chemical reaction when mentos is put into coke and so it overflows the brim of the glass
. The landing rate might have been -159fpm
I haven’t yet tried the Mentos in Coke on a plane but perhaps I will some day 😁

It was the pilots who did the entire thing!
I just fill out the date and flight, etc.
The flight specific info I ask the flight deck to fill out.

But it’s a very smart thing to do too. It’s considering it a big investment. Not only do you secure future customers. Parents are happy when the kids are happy and distracted, so even families will keep coming back, like my own.
My wife refuses to fly any airline that’s not Emirates if we’re all together😂

Your trip to Bangladesh must be exciting! I love going there.
Tips with kids, specially 3 year olds, is to bring an incredible lot of entertainment. Toys, play-doh, books, coloring books, etc. They get bored quickly and then they bother family and other passengers😂
Clogged ears I avoid by having them drink during ascend and descend. Swallowing helps.
As adult I always have a chewing gum or candy in my mouth to help with that. Never in my life had issues with my ear.

EK always has the best kid's inflight play set among their middle east counterparts! Did EK pick up any passengers from Male to Colombo sector?
The toys are quite popular indeed!
And yes, they do pick up passengers, it was however not full this time.

The electronic items like TVs, washing machines, refrigerators etc are targetted at local Sri Lankans returning after a stint working in the Gulf countries. Not an unusual sight for locals but I can imagine foreigners being a little surprised.
I know it’s for the locals, I fully understand. Expats who arrive and wish to buy themselves or family some electronics with their hard worked for money.
But still it’s so random to see! A nice anecdote.

Hi! Sorry if the question has already been asked, but what are the carry on limitations? On the website it mentioned only one bag max 7kg for economy but on the video it seems like you had multiple bags. Just curious.
I had multiple bags but we were 4 people traveling, so that changes..

How do you approach the crew for your son's travel book?
I just explain them what it is and if they don’t mind to fill it out. They never really do, they’re mostly excited about it and ask me if they can reas through it.
Can you call the layover aviation about names
Certain German airline being Lufthansa?...I am an involuntary Lufthansa frequent flyer, as I can use my united miles and they fly a lot from Seattle to Europe. But man, the business class, 2,2,2 and the service... The babushka flight attendants never smile, in keeping tradition with being Germans..

I kind of like Lufthansa.. Being half Dutch makes it easier for me I guess. But yes, their product needs some serious working on if they want to keep up with others.

27:39 Why? Make Qatar your first choice, they’re way better than Emirates, what does Emirates offer that Qatar doesn’t
I’m a very frequent flier on Qatar Airways and while they offer a great Business Class (if you get Qsuites) I still take the Emirates A380 over it anytime!
Crew are allowed to be fun yet professional while in QR I can feel they work under extreme pressure, thus everyone is always afraid to make a mistake. It’s just stuff I notice.
@@TheLayoverAviation agreed. But Emirates still fly the 2,3,2 business configuration between Dubai and Seattle.... In Business! That's just criminal at this point, on such a long flight. If you know someone on the inside of Emirates, please let them know their ongoing travesty
@@TheLayoverAviation I’m a very frequent flier on Qatar and for someone who lives in Qatar, it’s pretty obvious that I’d pick Qatar over any other airline I always do that whenever I’m flying out of Qatar directly since I hate transits and like 90% of the time the crew is super friendly, I literally always chat with them as they don’t hesitate to give extra snacks or meals if you ask them to, but I’m not sure how Emirates crew are since I never flew with them but many people told me the crew isn’t as good as Qatar in Economy and besides Qatar A380 is a lot better than Emirates, the cabin is newer in Qatar
