    The ends should be tucked inside the gutter, as previously mentioned by someone else.

    I had the Gutterglove Pro installed, it has more support than the Costco. After five years, the system is working well. I am too old to be installing gutters or cleaning them.

    Wondering what snips you’re using. I’m having trouble making the cuts.

    Can’t you just tuck the end screen inside the cutter. Not sure I like the look of the mesh outside and screwed. Also, using the tape might make any future maintenance a nightmare.

      The mesh iS supposed to be tucked inside the gutter per the instructions. Definitely wear gloves, that wire mesh can hurt!

    Great work! Thanks for sharing. Got a few questions for ya, 1) What drills size did you use to bolt them with? 2) How many pieces did you use for the 70 feet again? Mine is 155 altogether and wanted to ask before buying them. Thanks man!

      I’ll take a look when I get back home. I’m out of state right now. I think that they come with a bit for the self tapping screws.

    Should those gutter guards be removed prior to replacing shingles? I would hate for them to be damaged in the process. Though, I would also hate to remove and reinstall the guards after the roofing is done!

    The downside of using tape is that you won’t be able to check if the gutters require cleaning. Nice work though!

    You must of seen by now the tests done that show that half the water goes over the guard on the ground and not in the gutter.

    • @THEMIDNIGHTCHOPPER
      @THEMIDNIGHTCHOPPER  ปีที่แล้ว

      It goes in the gutter, not over.

    • @livingaboard
      @livingaboard 11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Yes, if you don’t install them correctly this can happen. That’s why you bend them as necessary so this doesn’t happen and you test it with a hose.

      @@livingaboard You are correct! I installed the same covers (but from Home Depot), 4 years ago and they are great! But, you do have to blow them off with a blower every year or so.

    Do you think are they worth it?

  • @stuboyle666
    @stuboyle666 ปีที่แล้ว

    Well I just went to install my Gutter Guards and they shorted me an inch. They are not 4 foot in length. They are 47 inches. Now all my calculations are off.

      Damn that sucks. Call the company. I called them because some of the guards were torn and they sent me a whole new box.

      The directions say you either use the tape or self taping screws to fasten it to the gutters…I think.

      It does have a little dip. But it’s 100x better than original.

  • @davenelson8187

    Not so easy for 3 in gutters. Need a sheet rock 8 in blade to slip under the shingle course, to insert the extra depth of the guard under at each section. Hammer, drill, acohol, screws, sheet metal cutters. Even with slipping them under the shingles u still need to bend/cup the mesh to meet the gutter edge. About 10-15 mins per section on a 60 deg plus day.

    • @THEMIDNIGHTCHOPPER
      @THEMIDNIGHTCHOPPER  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yea it’s not made for 3” gutters

    • @davenelson8187
      @davenelson8187 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@THEMIDNIGHTCHOPPERMy roof also has a fairly steep pitch. Finished my last 40 ft section yesterday with low 60 deg temps. Actually went in a lot better since the shingle tar stayed separated. Tended to stick back down during install process during 75 plus deg weather.

      Very good price. I could install them. The material looked like it would filter the water great AND the stupid leaves wouldn’t get caught up in the metal. So far so good. The company even sent me an extra box ($60 value) because one piece was a little torn. 100% worth it.
