What would be the humidity that you would want in your safe to be safe? I have a new and my very first safe. I have the Eva-Dry inside of it now and the humidity is 43 to 47%.
I have been told that one needs to have the "correct amount of humidity" in the safe. That is, if it is too dry, it can affect stocks and of course we know what too much moisture can do. So what product can one use to maintain the right balance?
I have tried the plugins, and I don't want to recharge it after 3 weeks. I threw it out and went back to DampRid Bags. One bag has been in there for 8 months and it will last a year. It holds humidity to 38% with zero leaks.
It is funny you should say that DampRid is what you use. I have had a LARGE number of customers say DampRid is the worst thing they have ever used and would never recommend it.
I have the Evas or a brand like it. The only problem is the manual intervention of taking it out to re-charge? What do you recommend that plugs in and is zero maintenance? Thanks. Just realizing many of the nicer gun safes have a power strip inside so one could easily be plugged in.
A "no maintenance" option would be a Goldenrod. The only issue is it just heats up the air in your safe and doesn't "remove" the moisture. Where as the eva dry absorbs the moisture and it is removed and dried out when you plug it in every few months. We've sold 1000's of eva drys and never had an issue.
I like using a few Brevida 62 gram or Boost humidifier packs they work great and I just put a cheap humidifier meter inside to see what my humidity is at! I still think humidity should be at 60% anyone think that’s good enough?????
60 % is NUTS! Mold will grow anything above 50 %! I keep mine below 30% with silica gel packs and sealing the door up with gorilla tape and I've never had a problem. Only gun in there with wooden stock is a Winchester 94 .3030 and never had any issues.
Well joe I think they All work 🤔 it's mainly personal preference if you have hole in back of safe and electric power the electric is the way to go. Just check it every week to make sure it's working
Might be some mounting spots within the safe you can punch through to send a wire thru or jus close the door on it... There's usually enough play within the door gap cuz it only seals up with heat (fire)

Nice review nice to see someone not trying to Ram something down someone's throat. Just telling them their options
Best gun safe dehumidifier is a lightbulb. It gets just as hot as the hot rod I have in there as well and it lights the safe.
I’ll have to try.
good way to have a fire.

@@Nashvillesafehouse went with both. Maybe overkill but like being prepared. Humidity does not get above 45%
Too many options causes even more confusion.
I have always used Damp Rid in my safe. If you don't spill it on your treasures then you don't need to worry about it.
The way he says moisture 😂😂

I'm assuming its ok to use that ever dry that you plug in when the silca needs to be dried along with a golden rod?
OUTSTANDING Sir !!! Thank you very helpful ! Have a safe and healthy day to you and yours !😁🙏
While I recharge my dehumidifier. Do I close my gun safe or leave the door open?
Close it
I close mine
Thanks, great info. Saved me a bunch of headaches. :)
GREAT VIDEO ! GREAT INFO ! I still dont understand why (besides the wife/husband telling them to) people are still putting a gun safe in a garage
I can't where I live.... Way to many seasonal changes.... 😉
@@miztrusa yep. I live in Florida. You put guns in a garage with no AC, you will get shit sticks in a couple weeks.
Just started to watching this video but in my opinion the aluminum cans with beads are the best. I've gotten the most uses out of them
Thanks for the reply, what other types of dehumidifiers have you used? I'm always looking for feedback from customers on their experiences
Good Vid. I hate Morstyur.
Why not put link to products. Sure makes it easier for you followers.
what if i left a light bulb on in my safe?
When I charge Eva Dry the little tablets turn black is that normal?
Will this destroy papers?

My home is like 40
My guns rusted in the gun sock so I took them off and installed a goldenrod.
Just ordered one, how has it worked for you?
Omar Khan good
If you guys keep your guns oiled you wouldn’t have that problem
@@zyonmazzacone4307 hahahahhaha FACTS lazy bastards
Glodenrod and forget you will not need anything else
Thanks for this info
Excellent informative video!
I purchase a safe , to keep the expensive stuff valuable . But my stuff has no value , cause it rusted .it was probably better in my closet.
So it's about safety. And not letting a child get to the guns
How is this called Best Gun Safe Dehumidifier then he tells you about 100 different kinds?
Seriously
Perhaps you would be satisfied if he had put an s at the end of the word dehumidifier?
Cause there is no such thing as 1 BEST no matter the subject

It’s been 4 yrs I’m thinking Joe isn’t with us anymore with a brain like that natural selection and all
there is no power inside the safe where do you connect to?

A Golden rod has worked for me along time. You dont beed anything else.
911 this is an emergency.
Morstur in safe is bad.
Yes@
I don't care what else I use I'll always leave charcoal in there too
Best gun is NO gun, of course.
Spoken like a true Libtard.
