The SF parents are going Private schools now! The public school teachers are substandard and are teaching woke ideology, not reading, writing and arithmetic!😮
We have schools here that are LITERALLY wall to wall black history and rainbow posters down every hallway. Plus covid social distancing posters still up.
Don’t feel to bad for them. The teachers unions fought hard to keep schools shut during covid. And in 2022 the department of education received 200 billion dollars in funding, and yet public schools have only gotten worse since then. Parents are looking for an alternative. And there is nothing the unions can do to stop them.
I own and operate a driving school in SF, and have noticed many student drivers are from private schools in the area. Sad to see such a decline, I went to SFUSD schools K-12 !!
The report failed to mention the growth in private schools. Parents that are concerned about the agenda message public schools give are finding options. There are no changes on the way... Public education is getting worse. The change that needs to happen is with in the course offerings. Schools operate on a 1950's model.
I would LOVE to hear the agenda message that teachers like myself are apparently spreading?? 🤡 my 2nd graders can’t write, can’t recognize half the letters of the alphabet, and don’t know their last names- what makes you think they’re going to understand some “hidden agenda” message??? 🙄
public education is getting worse because we keep defunding it. you can't keep taking money away then say you're taking money away because it's getting worse
There's no mention of real estate properties being gobbled up by private equity firms or rich people and having those properties turned into rental properties with ridiculous sky high rental rates that no one but with high 6-7 figure salaries can afford. There's also no mention the type of education and performance that public schools are giving compared to private schools and how enrollment of private schools is being affected in the San Francisco. I swear SF leadership has their heads up their you know what. Just a few years ago, they took the merit based application down for Lowell High School and called it discriminatory because it wasn't enrolling enough black and Latinos in and had a disproportionate amount of Asian and white enrollment. They spent more time during Covid trying to change the names of some schools based political virtue signaling rather than getting students back into the classroom. On top of everything, you also have a system pushing BS teachings like common core math which is the one of the worst ways to sabotage a kid's education on math. I do not understand how you can teach this absurd way of doing regular math and expect them to have the fundamentals to build upon them to do higher level math in their college years like calculus which would give them the opportunities to be an engineer, or someone in the sciences.
I love what SF was in the early 2000s but you couldn’t pay me enough to live in SF with my kids. Id rather live in the suburbs of north bay, the peninsula or even east bay. Heck, I’d rather live in Livermore and commute than deal with the mental/ideological insanity in SF.
This feels like 40% of a news story. Is it more families choosing private school? Is it a nationwide decrease in the population of children? Is it that Bay Area families have left in large numbers? Why not provide any basic explanation? Can’t leave it to the comments, far too many citizens have a very closed mind towards the nuances of demographic shifts.
Ironically, parents that vote woke, won't send their own kids to public school that teach woke ideology. 😂 How's those DEI new teacher hires coming along? 😂😂
The lockdowns were a knockout punch for public schools. A lot of kids didn’t participate in the zoom classes and many dropped out - never returned. I don’t know that it has “flattened out” after COVID - the graph seems to show a continued downward trend, especially in Napa, Santa Clara, San Mateo, and Sonoma counties.
I have two children in private school. I’m insanely concerned about how political and motivated towards radical ideology that San Francisco schools have moved towards. They’re anti-family most of all but I like traditional values.
San Francisco has lots of children. It just lots of parents do not want to deal the public school agendas and subpar woke teachers. There are lots of private schools in San Francisco.
The students are in danger and the learning criteria changed as well as inflation paying for school and your kids lunch they might be teaching there kids at home
you're simply wrong. california is growing by 3x the numbers that are leaving it. people don't pay attention to the larger stats. but it's true that much of the bay is too expensive to live in now for normal families
Anybody who wants to learn can do so with the Internet. Rain tanks, solar/wind energy, water shed restoration etc these are the jobs and lessons we need to be teaching. This way we can have a collective purpose. Currently, it shows that there is zero collective purpose.. so then why be there anyway?
To the 🆕 Mayor of 🌉S.F.🌉 . Consolidate old school districts into established school districts. Cut costs , raise educational goals without compromise .

So the rich parents can save their kids and afford private school and afford to virtue signal public school demise.
Priceless Progressive
No way you’re this delusional
We have schools here that are LITERALLY wall to wall black history and rainbow posters down every hallway. Plus covid social distancing posters still up.
If I ever live in SF. I would put my kids into a private school. I don't trust SF public school teachers.
cool story, bro
Uh, 100 times smarter than a red state MAGAT teacher.
They're all blue haired trannies
Don’t feel to bad for them.

Only illegal migrates students goes to public schools
Was it fun dodging used needles and human waste on your way to school? Did you make a game out of it?

@@jessicaarroyo288 I think you just answered the question of why Private school enrollment is up
@@jessicaarroyo288lol teach them to write
They didn't teach students how to be transgender in the 1950's

Its almost like its not a good city to raise a family, its almost like it so expensive here a lot of people dont/wont have kids. Almost like right?
I love what SF was in the early 2000s but you couldn’t pay me enough to live in SF with my kids. Id rather live in the suburbs of north bay, the peninsula or even east bay. Heck, I’d rather live in Livermore and commute than deal with the mental/ideological insanity in SF.
This is what happens when you vote blue !!!
nope
Holy crap; there are still people sending their little kids to government schools in San Francisco?
People that love their children are fleeing San Francisco
nope
I can confirm. I live in Elk Grove and it is jam packed here for schools. A lot of Bay Area residents reside in the 916.
Well you are toast. They’ll devour your schools.
Why would any raise there kid in SF now?
We moved out of SF after 18+ years there, the city has become sad.
my cousin work for two jobs and have their kids in private school because the public school is a mess. waste of time and worst education ever

My school has gone up massive like 40% in enrollment. They won’t ever tell you the whole story they know it looks bad on the message they push.
Less kids in significant areas of SF. The more the school; the longer the wait-list. We are like the Manhamptons now.🏦💰
families are leaving as the SB doesnt prioritize kids needs. remember their priority was to change names.
wrong

London Breed kicked out the good teachers
Gender study's anyone ?
nope

lol there is no 'radical ideology' in PUBLIC school. you've lost your minds
London Breed is doing a great job apparently. Vote this fall for your city.
Good, home school your kids
bad idea
They were complaining about crowded classrooms and not enough teachers before. Isn’t this what they wanted? 😂
They played the covid lock down way too long
Just close public schools, reduce taxes citizens, so the citizens can use that money to send their kids to private schools.
Concerned patents send kids to private schools. WTF..."they"
I just looked and saw some elementary schools are 25-30+ students to 1 teacher. They want more students per teacher than this?
SF public schools have been miserable for a long time. Tons of money, yet can't grant safety and a decent education.
San Francisco has lots of children. It just lots of parents do not want to deal the public school agendas and subpar woke teachers. There are lots of private schools in San Francisco.
It's the quality of education.
Private schools are doing great. SF needs to do better
nope this is happening in SF. ARizona schools are expanding, so are schools in SoCal like rancho Cucamonga, and many many more places
Who'd want to raise their child in a place like SF??
Not exactly "family friendly"..
These schools aren’t safe at all. I’m glad my lil bro graduated 2 years ago. They need more security aka cops on the campus
exactly the wrong answer
The students are in danger and the learning criteria changed as well as inflation paying for school and your kids lunch they might be teaching there kids at home
close these government daycares already.
People are leaving 🤷🏿♂️ nothing here anymore
you're simply wrong. california is growing by 3x the numbers that are leaving it. people don't pay attention to the larger stats.
but it's true that much of the bay is too expensive to live in now for normal families
No context. Why are they leaving?
Let’s not forget these clowns wanted to stay closed for years and years because of…
Pay for your own security
Good, home school, you wont have to walk your kids past junkies and human waste and they wont get propagandized.
you obviously don't live in sf, you just believe the stuff you see online
crimes and criminals, families are moving due to fear of safety
wrong. people are moving because they are priced out. crime isn't that bad in sf, it's oakland that's a real mess
