Good to see how this microbrand evolved throughout those years. I have been following Venezianico since early days of Meccaniche Veneziane and they way of natural progress and persistence in what they do is something really extraordinary. Also I have some experience with their watch service, so if anything is wrong with your Venezianico, you can be sure that they will take care of you and your watch in no time 👌
Expertly crafted video as always Jayson ❤

I appreciate the time you take to script and narrate these videos! Nicely done. I have this watch brand on my list for sure!

A rotating bezel without any reference on itself nor on the dial must be the silliest idea in horology ever. If they were just going for style over function, they could as well got rid of the hands.

😂😂😂don’t tempt me. I might as well make a watch like that.

    Actually looks pretty cool.
Probably dust on the crystal, but, are there small metallic flakes in/on the ultrablack dial? Might be the one gripe of such a watch dial is getting a perfectly clean shot when video and photo taking. Everything shows up over the dial.

Those were from the crystal because I’m shooting the light from above the frame. Yeah a challenge to shoot right

Looks rugged and highly refined at the same time.

The ones without the rotating bezel remind me of older Movado pieces. The one with the rotating bezel that doesn't have any markers doesn't make sense to me. Also, they are not a Venetian brand. They are Italian but not based in Venice.

      I stand corrected.

They are in the province of Venice, at 19km from the city.

The thing I can agree with is that this case has improved over the previous Nereide, but where the Redentore versions of the ultra black were just a bit of slimming and refinement away from being really desirable, this I just don't find attractive and also generates friction with the functionalist cues it emphasises. Since Venezianico tried to pass on a fanciful selling backstory on Mesoamerican cultures with a poppycock connection to a completely unrelated piece of mineral as a dial, they have some making up to do. They're not in my good books yet.

You have to admit they’re going in a good direction from their beginning. I think they have a lot of upside potential. I like the uses of their environment they put into the pieces.
I wish there was as much history in my country to do something like this. Grand Seiko really does a good job doing this also.

@@Pounderino in terms of watch design I agree they've gone into some stronger directions lately. The false and misinformed advertisement narratives simply rub me up the wrong way. It is not even remotely necessary to make such blatant mistakes or to misappropriate cultural references and natural resources. It's sloppy and lazy of any company not to do proper background checks as well as to sell products that have therefore no relation to the story being sold. It's a pity they resorted to this, but I'll be in a small minority that cares, I guess.

@@benjaminvisAre you referring to their Egypt, Qatar and Amazon watches? It sounds like you know something I don’t about what story they’re selling.
Or is it about taking inspiration from places like that? Because like I said if they could make a Canadian watch with the colour of lake Louise or the autumn leaves from our native trees.. I would be very interested.

    • @benjaminvis
      @benjaminvis ปีที่แล้ว

@@Pounderino I'm specifically referring to the green stone dial they linked to Mesoamerican cultures using a mineral foreign to the area that those cultures did not use.

I read up on it a bit. You’re definitely right. A strange thing to do.
Closest place it’s found looks like America.
I did learn that the mayans used to drill holes in their teeth to fit stones. Never knew that before.
