For me Halloween & F13 need to stay in theaters. I think NOES would be a great Netflix show going from his mother being locked in the mental hospital over the weekend, as a child, adult Freddy, his death, & then the Freddy we so know & love. Robert can still do Freddy either just the voice or a CGI his face onto stunt man or do how they did Arnold with CGI Terminator in part 4
I’m hearing that they’re pulling from the Halloween Returns script so if it’s executed right this could be the best thing to happen to the franchise in a long time 🔥

My problem with Halloween being a T.V. show isn't that it's to good for T.V., I'm worried that with Halloween films generally being around 90 minutes that a T.V. show will feel long and drawn out. I hope I'm Wrong, I'll check out anything with Michael Myers, but we'll just have to wait and see. I'm curious what the premise will be and what the trailer will be like.
As far as the streaming service, the films were distributed by Miramax, which is now owned by Disney…as is Hulu. I’d bet that’s more likely than Netflix or Max

Deconstructing Michael was the biggest issue with Zombie's 2007 remake...it took away everything mysterious and scary about him. Though one has to admit, he did it at least in a super stylish way (its the reason why I love his H2 - it is shot so extremely well !!! I wish it wasn't called Halloween) and I don't think a show will be able to do better, especially not with the original Michael and story.
Also I don't agree shows today are different - just because they get higher budgets most of them still look like a studio recording in a room with fake trees. Its not like they'll go and shoot scenes in California's streets in the summer pretending its Oct31st :D
But even if that would be fine, the problem is, Halloween IS Michael Myers, no one else - there's no need for side stories of 10s of different characters, talkin about their everyday s**t and bla bla bla, just so you can see 1-2mins of Michael here and there or even not see at all and then of course bring him back at the end of the season. I don't know about you guys but I thought the Chucky show was a terrible abomination for the franchise and I don't want anything like that happening to Halloween. The last "trilogy" was enough of a legacy destroyer.
As a big fan of the show Power, and the whole Power universe, I see Starz do a great job... Not only did Power get six seasons... It has had successful and good spinoffs... So, don't sleep on Starz!!!!
It got watered down when they expanded the universe, Book 2: Ghost is pretty good, Raising Kanan is great, Force is average and Bmf is trash
I still enjoy those shows but the writing and the acting suffered greatly after the OG power.. BMF’s acting is just awful 😂

HBO Max or Apple TV usually have some solid shows. I love Presumed Innocent on Apple TV. With that said, Netflix and Hulu are good options as well.

Huge mistake, couldn’t agree more. They kept Michael Myers away from us in Ends with all these twists and the only thing we all agree on is the flashback scene in Kills, do that!
As a Halloween fan I'm so conflicted on the tv show, parts of me wants to be hyped for it and parts of me is dreading it. I hope they can prove us all wrong and its fucking fantastic.

A maximum prison tv show for Halloween sounds terrible...there will be no trick or treaters, neighbourhood setting, michael won't have the overalls or his mask.

Netflix cancels shows left and right too. Also, he’s saying “Michael Myers will appear”, well fuck I hope so for a Halloween TV series 😂 this whole show is a huge risk if not done right and could kill the franchise.

On the Friday the 13th side, apparently, Sean S. Cunningham is working with, ugh, Jason Blum, FFS, on untangling the movie rights. Apparently, Sean Cunningham loved Jason Blum's pitch and really wants to do his F13 film🤦♂️

What would you guys think of a “Judith” trilogy? She survives the attack and has to go into hiding because Micheal escapes years later. Laurie is not seen or mentioned. It’s about Micheal’s family and parents. Judith could be the final girl. This idea might be 10 years down the road or so.
I usually don't comment on other comments but I really do love this idea. it feels familiar enough to keep the spirit of halloween. Biggest issue is then you have to forgo the idea that michael just kills indiscriminately... but I do really like it
@@GoldenGuy2003 yeah I don’t like that idea at all because if you had the idea that Judith survived that night when Michael was six years old, how does that explain? The tombstone in her grave and also if you would’ve have her survive and go into hiding, wouldn’t that kill pretty much the whole point of Michael Myers, would it? For who he supposed to be?

At this point as a Halloween fan there's nothing left to do with Michael Myers without changing too much. As much as Myers is my favorite slasher and think he's overall the best, Myers has been done to death with the constant timelines and reboots to the point that there's nothing left without basically making entirely new characters that have nothing to do with Myers at all. At that point make a new slasher with a new story and that would get rid of the worry of showing to much of Myers background and other things.

I hundred percent agree for everything Mike just said I kind of don’t like that. They are putting him in a maximum security prison, but what I do like is that we won’t need to see Lori strode ever again that has been done and over with also if they wouldn’t see her name, that’s fine, but I just want to see Michael Myers with the mask stalking a bunch of people and then killing them for whatever his real reason is and I am pretty nervous of what they’re going to do with the show. I hope it goes on all the way it’s like 10 maybe 20 seasons even but I’m very nervous of what they’re going to do because they do anything for what we just read I hope this show is already doomed but it my opinion I think they should do it on HBO Max and after that you can keep Dr. Loomis as a thing if you find the perfect casting, I would be fine with that but if you have someone else that doesn’t have that goodness with the character, it’s going to be pretty bad

I feel that they rebooted the franchise enough. What i think would be cool and i know it will never happen. Is if they continue where Halloween 6 left off , Frank zappa wrote an awsome follow up (The two faces of evil) But it was never used because they ended up making h20. I feel there would be a great story to bulid more off of if they tried. Plus it would be amazing to see a continuation if the greatness that was Halloween 6.
Glad someone else likes Halloween 6 as much as me lol, would be cool to see a follow up but at the same time it'd probably confuse a lot of people who only seen the BlumHouse films.
I don’t want Starz to have Halloween because of how they fumbled the bag before and but it would be worse on Max (honey, what streaming service has GoT, again?) because I don’t want it getting written off in taxes or yoinked completely.

ALL I WANNA see is either Halloween 3 OR the Thorn series reimagined. Nothing else. I literally only watch Halloween 3 thru 6.
And I'm embarrassed to admit Halloween Ends sometimes, I can't figure out why I like that one.
Amazon, peacock, HBO max, these would be fine. They've had projects they funded that worked well. Not netflix, they don't do physical media. Fuck that.
Everyone is raving on about these streaming services but I'm still buying 4K Blu Ray box sets and Blu Ray movies. And I'm not old I'm only 29.
There's plenty of Halloween movies to rewatch, I'll probably stay away from the series. I didn't watch the Scream series either. Interesting that Laurie is more expendable then Loomis as a character, when she's clearly much easier to recast. Maybe not focus on her. but springboard off of Laurie to new characters like Part 4 did. If they start directly after the first one, we'll have to wait two seasons before Michael is an adult. And while some things may be true, they are not always value :)
Agreed, The Blumhouse trilogy was enough to bury the hatchet. What else can you do they need to stop.
she's easier to recast because she's bland/generic without a specific link to the storyline that someone else couldn't fill, that's also why she's more expendable than Loomis.
If she weren't played by Jamie Lee Curtis, she'd have never returned at all in all likelihood. Though, in fairness she'd probably be included here if it weren't for the recent trilogy heavily overexposing her/over inflating her role.
That said I think people are far too precious about recasting Loomis. There's a character that actually can bring a lot of good to the franchise still, who is integral to it's storyline, yet people are worried any new take won't live up to the original even decades on. They don't need to be better than Pleasence to do a good job.
@@dommoore6180 I do think that the blandness, which is certainly not due to JLC, is a little bit on purpose. You’re watching and thinking “this could be me, or my daughter, or my gf”. Ironically the blandness helps us to identify with the character. Just my take
@@LillyCortez3302 JLC is the only thing about Laurie Strode that's really noteworthy. She saves the character completely and makes her, if not interesting, at least likable (in the original, imo she's bloody atrocious in the recent trilogy, I do like her in H20 though).
And yeah she's meant to be a generic role for the audience to scream with. The generic final girl.
It's this that seems to be lost whenever they want to use JLC's recognition to sell a new film though. Loomis is your 'character' here, he's the personality with the integral story role. Michael is the icon, the poster draw, the core of the franchise, but has no (or very little) character. Laurie is the audience stand in.
Which is why swapping Laurie out for Rachel or Kara is fine. But trying to centre the whole franchise around Laurie was/is a bad idea for this very reason. Imo it ruined Laurie's character and hurt the presentation of Michael and Loomis, whilst also taking away Laurie's role of being an audience stand in entirely.
@@dommoore6180 I agree that JLC’s fame made the character less relatable. I’m just not Team Loomis I guess. I didn’t grow up with his movies and he just comes across as the “Crazy Ralph” character to me. I didn’t miss him in the newer movies

I believe it will be about the silver shamrock masks turning everyone who wears them into uncontrollable rage filled killers. Think the opening to the remake of Dawn of The Dead and the film US for the tone and films action. Michael is one of the kids who wore one of these masks that survived the aftermath. This means that all the kids and teens and adults who wore these masks mysteriously died after Halloween night. Michael will be the only kid who doesn't mysteriously die like everyone else does from wearing the mask. It ends with Myers in Smith's Grove to give us a chance for a second season that will feature Michael Myers coming back to Haddonfield as an adult.
It's gonna go on Peacock because Universal owns the rights to Halloween

Apple TV has great series, they just aren’t being talked about. Severance produced by Ben Stiller is amazing! I agree tho, Halloween TV series should be on MAX, make it a limited series 8-10 episodes that’s all, don’t dilute it and have it lead to a future movie.
Now that we are past the current trilogy and having time to think about the franchise as a whole they should've continued with Corey being the new Shape that way the series can continue and without all the constraints that the franchise has been plagued with because as much as we ALL love Michael Myers there is nothing more than can be done with the character... except to go in a paranormal approach and that may not be accepted well as they wanted to try that back in the 80's as an original concept for H4. The constant going back and forth to 1978 and different points in the timeline is old and tired now they need to officially move away from 1978 because it puts everything in a box regarding Halloween and at least with Corey that character had a connection to Michael and it would've been another way to keep the mask within the franchise going forward
I'm sorry but Halloween is for the big screen not the little screen. Unless they are gonna do an anthology series that explores different concepts under the Halloween banner, then I just don't see it working. Michael Myers works best as a 90 minute adrenaline shot and that's it. We don't need a soap-opera exploring him or his motives.

So Michael will be in a proper prison not Smith's Grove?
Will he be put into general population with normal convicts ? Or stay in his own confinement? Cant see Michael mingling with other prisoners too well.
Is he let loose in the prison ? Goes after someone he sees ? Only way i can see the mask being involved is if Loomis brings in into prison while conducting his assessment on Michael like Aaron did in H18, try to communicate or get reactions out of Michael.
It will die on any service that expects Stranger Things numbers with a small budget. Give it a good budget (for casting) and realistic number expectations.
I love Halloween but they should leave halloween alone for like 5 years, this tv series needs to be released on Hbo max, netflix, peacock, or paramount. But theres no need to do a series.
Gotta disagree on yall streaming takes. Apple is actually one of the strongest streaming platforms with shows like Monarch the Godzilla series that just got renewed for a 2nd season , Silo , Severence , dark Matter and presume Innocent are all critically and fan reviewed well. Paramount plus isn’t a bad choice as well but think it being on Max would help it succeed isn’t a Guarantee just look at what the viewership numbers for the second season of house of the dragon are doing. If I’m the rights owners I’m taking a strong look at Apple TV
I really don't get how a Halloween series can be successful. We all complained he wasn't in "Ends" enough. How do we get a tv series that is good? We don't want to know a lot about him. Every episode would be like Power Rangers. Some teen bullshit, then action, repeat. There isn't much to see in character development. Unless they do a mini series of like 8 episodes and it's just like a trilogy of films broke up... I don't know.
