    Hi Dr. Chambers, great video. I have been trying to obtain an adjunct business professor job for a couple years now with no luck. Not even a call back. I have references, teaching philosophy, MBA, Department of Defense civilian leader, etc. I have went as far as to contacting school of business Deans directly, just not a lot of opportunities from what I have experienced. I had not thought of counting my time in children’s ministry as teaching experience. I am going to try to fit that in as well. Thanks for the advice!

    Hi, Candace! Do you have recommendations for who to use as references? I'm coming from a freelancer background (for the past ten years) so I don't have a direct supervisor or colleagues.

    • @dr.candacechambers

      Hi Amanda! You could reach out to people you may know within your community such as those you may know through civic organizations, places of worship, or through volunteering. Also, former classmates could provide a reference on your behalf.

    I just went back to school to finish my MBA but will be not done until about 6 months from now but I do have 30 graduate credits in business already with an undergraduate business degree. Are there any specific schools that you know will let you teach at college level with 18 or 30 graduate credits and currently finishing masters?

    • @dr.candacechambers
      @dr.candacechambers  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi James! Yes, you can apply to most adjunct positions with only 18 graduate credit hours. So, I'd say start with schools in your area or on Indeed.

    What is the average salary for typical adjust online instructor

    • @dr.candacechambers
      @dr.candacechambers  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Excellent question! Average pay depends on the length of time the course runs. But for an average 16-week course, the pay can range from 2K-4K in my experience.

    I am interested in becoming an online adjunct college instructor. The school I want to apply to wants an online teaching certificate. Can you recommend one that is good to go to?

    • @dr.candacechambers
      @dr.candacechambers  3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Hi Erica! I actually have not heard of an online teaching certificate. Usually, the requirements are for you to have a master's degree in the subject area or 30 graduate hours. I would suggest you email them directly to ask what they are referring to pertaining to the online teaching certificate. I would suggest that you do not spend extra money to apply to teach at a college. See if there are other schools where you can teach. If you have your graduate degree or hours, you are qualified without the need for a certificate for almost 99% of colleges/universities. Hope this helps!

      You can gain online certifications and gain experience later. It will take a bit longer, but it should be OK

      University of Illinois In Chicago, Illinois offers online certification program. It’s called ION. this stands for Illinois online network.

    Adjunct instructors are treated like garbage.
