حضرت عمر رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ نے ایک خواب دیکھا کہ ان کی اولاد میں سے ایک شخص ہوگا جس کے چہرے پر زخم کا نشان ہوگا اور وہ زمین کو عدل و انصاف سے بھر دے گا۔ ان کے بیٹے حضرت عبداللہ بن عمر اکثر اس خواب کا ذکر کرتے تھے، اور وہ اس شخصیت کی پہچان جاننے کی خواہش رکھتے تھے۔ حضرت عمر بن عبدالعزیز رحمہ اللہ کے بچپن میں ایک حادثہ ہوا جب ایک کھچر نے ان کی پیشانی پر لات ماری، جس سے گہرا زخم آیا۔ ان کے بھائی اسبق نے اس پر ہنستے ہوئے کہا کہ یہ بنو مروان کے وہی اشج ہیں جن کا ذکر حضرت عمر نے اپنے خواب میں کیا تھا۔ اس واقعے سے حضرت عمر بن عبدالعزیز کی پیشانی پر وہ نشان بن گیا جس کا ذکر خواب میں آیا تھا۔
In English:
Hazrat Umar (RA) once had a dream in which he saw that one of his descendants would have a scar on his face and would fill the earth with justice and fairness. After seeing this dream, he would often wonder who among his descendants would be this "Ashj" (the person with the scar). His son, Abdullah bin Umar, frequently mentioned his father's dream and wished to know who this person would be. When Hazrat Umar bin Abdul Aziz (RA), also known as Umar the Second, was still a child, he visited Egypt with his father. During this trip, he was kicked by a mule, which left a deep wound on his forehead. His brother, Asbagh, upon seeing the blood, laughed and exclaimed that this must be the "Ashj of Banu Marwan" mentioned in Hazrat Umar's dream. Although Hazrat Umar bin Abdul Aziz was in pain and confused by his brother's laughter, Asbagh was filled with joy, believing that the dream had been fulfilled with this scar.
