Interesting. But I would suspect that colonies on different worlds would develop differently, especially if some form of FTL did not initially exist for the first few dozen generations to keep the various populations homogeneous.
Since speciation involves a lack of ability to breed between the branches, and there are denisovian and Neanderthal genes in various family lines, not sure if it is a true separation that way. What happens if a space human and an ocean human decide they love each other, what will their descendants look like?
If I recall correctly, the technical the Genus and Species of Humanity is Homo Sapiens, which would imply that these groups are taxonomically sub-species of humans, as they are all Homo Sapiens [Sub-Species]. In this case, "Speciation" is probably more a legal term than a scientific one.
It does make a person wonder what humans will look like in the far future, if we don't make ourselves extinct or get wiped out by some cosmic event.
Big ends do to a lot of sitting, small shoulder area and lowered heads do to smart device usage and resting our arms on chairs ...
"Infinite diversity in infinite combinations"
I must remember 'a writ of speciation' 😂

Still no attempt to uplift Floridians> 😹
There are more promissing prospects 😂
@ErwinDecoene rocks?
Now now, lets not get ahead of ourselves.😉

Best no to overthink.

@ that makes a lot more sense. More of a “breed” of human, like a “breed” of dog.
Amphibious
I was expecting Canis-sapien & Felis-sapien.
