+bandholm I would like them to be longer and more in depth. Like with the KV2 turret angle when firing? Some of the subjects leave you with more questions than they answer.
I started my mechanical engineering course in college this year. I'm not mad about most of WG's stuff they do like guide park but the Nuts and Bolts videos are AWESOME, loving the information and good effort from WG for putting these together +1 More Nuts and Bolts videos PLS :D
I fucking love the small cloud that the AMX56 Leclerc Makes (as featured in the video) when it blows out fumes :D Looks like it's smoking a 120mm Cigarette.
Are those reposts of the old movies from a couple of years ago? I notice only the answers to the questions are added, and the tank models are the same from years ago, before introduction of high def textures. It nice to refresh the memories, but they could do a little more than simply add 1 minute to the old movies...
This video brought up something very interesting regarding the muzzle brakes... Does this also affect camo rating in the game? Is a tank more likely to be spotted when firing behind bushes when having a gun with a muzzle brake than a tank without one? (Think about typical Russian tanks such as the IS with it's 100mm and the 122mm)
+junsengjs The British are rather fond of HESH (High Explosive Squash-Head) rounds. HESH rounds have a soft high explosive tip that spreads out in an thin paste over the target and detonates shortly afterwards. They're good for blowing holes in the sides of buildings and cause large amounts of spalling when fired at armored vehicles. The spinning caused by rifled guns causes the high explosive paste in HESH rounds to spread out more. This is why the British still use rifled guns.
Thomas Dineen- Yes the British liked their Hesh rounds but now in modern MBTs, Hesh rounds are almost useless because just about all modern MBTs have spall liners.
This video was really enlightening, but I'd like to know where is the famous French Super tank; the Renault, Char-2C? Of all the tanks to include as a standard, premium, or a special offer tank, the Char-2C would be one of, if not the best option at least in my opinion. It's kind of funny really, the German Maus was included in the German tank tree, yet there was only two built, and neither saw real action; but there were ten Char-2C's that were deployed in the French army during the inter-war period, and the battle for France itself!
+Luca Hulot (Akle) Yea, right... putting all hippie-bullsh*t discussion aside, thats as usefull as saying that the best way to make sure nobody dies in an airplane crash is to stop everyone from flying.
SC0RCH3er flying in an airplane is not the same as doing war. Shall we stop eating to prevent people from possible food-caused suffocation ? no. the same goes on with planes. well, i do understand that we MUST defend ourselves when another nation is attacking, but this should be the last option. war is good for almost nothing.
+Luca Hulot (Akle) The point is the same. It is "solving" a practical problem with incoherent utopian idea (sort of like any solution from EU politicians). Try telling a tank crew that the way not to get killed in a tank is not to use a tank and surrender. Sometimes you have to defend yourself, thus it war is not a solution is BS. War is sometimes much better than a false peace at all costs. "You were given the choice between war and dishonor. You chose dishonor and you will have war." that was said by Churchill after Munich agreement in 1938. You can´t negotiate with someone who is already decided to f*ck you up. Same with Izrael, if they decided to not attack first in 1967, there would be no Izrael today.
I honestly don't think a muzzle flash is too concerning on a tank. Once the bad guys notice a huge box with a gigantic BOOM going off, not to mention the fact a giant round just blew open one of their tanks, I think they'd know where the shot came from.
+Thomas Ferlauto Umm no? IRL battles are fought at a MUCH larger distance than in WoT, mostly 1500 - 3500 meters. At such distance seeing and especially hearing the enemy is much harder.
+Xx_neat-beat because it is an ISU 152. The long gun that everyone uses isnt what the ISU 152's used in reality. Most guns that come stock in this game are usually the historical ones used in combat, the others were possible to be fitted on them
+Kougamatt WOT he's referring to the size of the casemate, the section housing the combat compartment. The ISU-152 has a tall and large casemate, mounted on the IS chassis, while the SU-152 has a more shorter casemate, mounted on the KV chassis.
+Reuters Reuter the L30 rifled cannon is not obsolete and rifeling does not lead to worse penetration power, the L27 and L28 projectiles posess similar KE values the the M289A2 and A3 shells respectivly this myth of worse penetration values comes from the slight reduction in mussel velocity that rifling inparts on a projectile due to friction. I will add however that the 2 charge system used in rifled guns the L30 tank gun will eventualy be out done by smothbore tank cannons due to the fact that the penetrator rod is limited to a size that can fit in the stowage bins (of course stowage bins can be reconfigured to acomidate for a longer projectile however this would prove expensive so most likely wont accure during the challenger 2's life cycle) where as single charge projectiles like the for mentioned M289 series can expand the penetrating rod furthere into the shell casing without increasing over all lenth of the shell thus resulting in a far superior projectile, and its this superior shell designe used in smothbore cannons that in my opinion has led to the rifled VS smothbore penetration myth.
+Jake Horsman > rifled VS smothbore penetration myth. This is hardly a myth. Rifling is completely useless when it comes to modern KE projectiles, since they can't even be properly stabilzed by the means of spinning. However Muzzle velocity amongst the length of the penetrator and its density is one of the be all end all factors, rendering the concept of rifled tank guns as a dead end.
+Jake Horsman L30 can't shoot NATO shells. They have to use their own. The only reason why they still have rifled is because of the HESH shells which can only be fired from a rifled cannon. Why do you think every country is using smothbore instead of rifled ?
By far the best series WG has ever made. I love how all the details get explained. GJ!
AbartigesEtwas o
You aren't clearly familiar with Inside the Chieftains hatch...
Love these and the narrator is one of the best!
+bandholm yes
+bandholm I would like them to be longer and more in depth. Like with the KV2 turret angle when firing? Some of the subjects leave you with more questions than they answer.
IamConfusedDK I agree!
But I would rather have these, than none at all (or some made by the history channel).
I started my mechanical engineering course in college this year. I'm not mad about most of WG's stuff they do like guide park but the Nuts and Bolts videos are AWESOME, loving the information and good effort from WG for putting these together +1
More Nuts and Bolts videos PLS :D
1:13 who put that Sherman into some shit and then used it in the video?!
+Augsburg Lp thats how HD the game looked a few years ago ;)
+Bram Bijdevaate i know... still looks like dragged through shit
+Augsburg Lp could have been that you are new to the game dunno just say'n. I already play for 3,5 years
Bram Bijdevaate I dont play since 3,5 years but since two. and still i know how the earlyy skins looked like :)
Nuts and Bolts of a Warship! That would be awesome and a goode idea! Do it just do it!
What is the music they always play in the background in this series?
The music starts at around 3:40
Which music is used in the background of this video?
At 5:06 there's a SU-152 not a ISU-152?
+AleK DK They are very similar, so it's difficult to say
+Sam P yeah but they still look different.
+AleK DK I think it is an SU-152 too...
+AleK DK Its an SU-152, the suspension, engine deck, and mantlet, are all of the same design.
yes it's SU
there should be a video about autoloader functionality and gun rammers.
Yes
@wargaming - What is the name of the soundtrack at 3:18min ??
:D
Nameles Ray i
I fucking love the small cloud that the AMX56 Leclerc Makes (as featured in the video) when it blows out fumes :D
Looks like it's smoking a 120mm Cigarette.
Léo VanWillem SU-152, stock gun.
Step 1: Shoot.
Step 2: Wiggle backwards as the smoke comes out of the barrel.
Step 3: Profit.
Excellent vid as always. Though the longer the barrel the better muzzle velocity you get the better penatration.
Great stuff :D I love this series. I was always wondering, what is that thing in the middle of the gun, now I know it's Bore Evacuator. Thanks :D
Simple and to the point.
What about the Caliber?
Von Millard Manalastas not sure

that was very interessting and informing. I love these mini documantations
at 5:04 it says isu 152 but that is clearly a su 152
Finally someone noticed
1:38 the master of derp(°_°)
This video brought up something very interesting regarding the muzzle brakes...

It's worth noting that the british MBT Challenger 2 still uses a rifled gun.
+junsengjs The British are rather fond of HESH (High Explosive Squash-Head) rounds. Yeah, they like their HESH.
Though, firing APFSDS out of rifled guns really kills the gun barrel quick.
They are also far more accurate.
Thomas Dineen- Yes the British liked their Hesh rounds but now in modern MBTs, Hesh rounds are almost useless because just about all modern MBTs have spall liners.
Does anybody a website explaining how the thickness of a cannon is calculated ,please ?
This video was really enlightening, but I'd like to know where is the famous French Super tank; the Renault, Char-2C? Do one for ammunition next!
These are great!
Really nice Videos. Keep it up.
With the title I thought we are throwing nuts and bolts of dead tanks from our cannons.
I don't get it how do the tank cannon look up and down
YAY MY FAVORITE TANK (KV2)
1:38 that isn't a howitzer, that's a weapon of mass destruction
5:03 ISU-152? That is a SU-152. Just had to say that as a ISU fan boy. COme on WG lol
hey
These are so good!
Fantastic
Pls wg Link your music
I have a solution to protect the people inside the tanks !
don't do war.
+Luca Hulot (Akle) Yea, right... putting all hippie-bullsh*t discussion aside, thats as usefull as saying that the best way to make sure nobody dies in an airplane crash is to stop everyone from flying.
+SC0RCH3er yup..pure but naive XD
SC0RCH3er flying in an airplane is not the same as doing war.
Shall we stop eating to prevent people from possible food-caused suffocation ?
no.
the same goes on with planes.

SC0RCH3er okay, but war is still a bad thing >:(
I love this videos
Who says KV2 needs to shoot while stationary? *KV2 drives and then one shotted Stug*
What's the tank at 8:02
I think it's a T-34, but I'm not really that sure
Seems to be T-34/76
I honestly don't think a muzzle flash is too concerning on a tank. Once the bad guys notice a huge box with a gigantic BOOM going off, not to mention the fact a giant round just blew open one of their tanks, I think they'd know where the shot came from.

max mustermann yes, I guess I plays a role a night, when shooting while covered with camoflauge, but thats really the only scenario
Wg error 5:03 because its an su not isu
wich bolt and nut u ask ;3
NICE
5:02 wait wait.. Isn't that an SU-152??? why does it say ISU-152?

Im not talking about the gun, im talking about its chassis thats not IS chassis its kv-1s's
5:02 that is SU-152 not ISU-152
This voice sounds familiar. Must be a video game he voiced? Which one? Who is he?
Old tanks: man I'm old
Today's tank:I'm back bois time to rampage
I love you kv2
KV-2 stronk
We'll soon see drone tanks
Elaniago Those are helicopters........
in fact the British tanks still use rifled barrels on its tanks and this lead to the British tanks having better range than the other nations
+John Whyte And better shells (for some jobs)
+John Whyte And worse penetration power across all ranges. The british 120mm rifled cannons are simply obsolete.

'Har har Gunther! If only Amelie could see me now!'
good tv
is it ironic that the thumbnail for this episode is a KV-2?
No its not
Shix Lo yes
Says isu 152 but it was su 152
M4 with a105mm
What if a tank could shoot every 1 sec , lol 60 shots a minute
Badieh - WoT Blitz & More! Thats not possible
It needs to cool down every shot
Or else it may overheat
Its no nut november for crying out loud!!!
realy rigged game stop cheat wot
