    Terrific teaching doctor. Very patient and helps with looking at the big picture but makes sure the student understands specifics. Trust me teaching doctors are not all like this..

    I like how the doctor did not seek to embarrass her; rather, he gave, suggestively and gently, the very answers to the questions he was asking her, without giving room for her possible lack of good/correct answers to surface. That way, the student LEARNED what she needed to learn without first being "exposed" for what she didn't know

    • @osalas36
      @osalas36 5 ปีที่แล้ว +25

      The difference between her nervousness and his calm is equal to the decades of training and practice he probably has on her. So we probably won't get that for a long time! haha

    • @maryhasaballa4052
      @maryhasaballa4052 3 ปีที่แล้ว +14

      Exactly! It is really intimidating to present to attendings, since you want to prove to be competent. The reality is you are still a student at that stage. The attending understands that and as long as you are willing to learn and are humble, he will help you. Very nice to see the attending so calm this way.

    he had a comforting presence. many of my professors have an egotistical attitude in responding to my questions and answers, but this instructor was very patient, understanding, nonjudgmental... and also picked up in areas where the student was struggling to answer....sigh. I'm a nurse practitioner student and I wish medical doctors, not doctorate nurses, taught most of the core classes, including but not limited to studies of pathophysiology, pharmacology, differential diagnoses, and primary care....sigh...

    I want to be able to this but my social anxiety is preventing me from succeeding. I took a speech course hoping it would fix my fear of public speaking but nothing changed. I think I'm just naturally shaky and on high alert. Propranolol and sertraline are ineffective and I don't know what to do. I'll be seeking help from a psychiatrist soon and hopefully I can get past this hurdle. I'm not in med school yet but I won't apply until I get over this obstacle.
