Keeping these musicians together is a very expensive undertaking, one that even orchestra leaders such as James Last and André Rieu also struggled with, despite their success. But just under a year ago, Strato-Vani 10 was released. So the spirit is still alive.
@@rvdb8876Thank you for your response which confirmed my conclusion. Mantovani, Percy Faith, Andre Kostelanetz, Bert Kaempfert, James Last and many other great orchestras suffered the same fate. The coming of television saw to that. It closed all the variety theatres and cinemas and all the dance halls. Nobody dances now. The initial staffs of radio stations retired and were replaced by young people who did not know about the great orchestras and great melodies of yesteryear, so they were forgotten. Music from the golden age of Hollywood was not preserved and is now lost forever. It has been replaced, not by music,but by primitive sounds masqueraded as music. It was a wonder that the Strato Vani orchestra existed at all. I hope sincerely it is successful in its reduced size of mainly younger players and less a conductor. I recognise only the accordionist and Marc Corden, the founder from the previous players and cannot see a programme anywhere for future concerts. The only other orchestra which compares with Strato Vani is Max Raabe and his twelve player Palace Orchestra. Although it lacks the punch of a bigger orchestra it is very good, and is booked solid in Germany from now until the end of 2025. I am wondering why Strato Vani with only a few extra players is not booked similarly. Musicians now, in most cases, are part-time and available for private functions only.
