Most helpful video I’ve found for this replacement so far, thank you!

Epic! An animal chewed the elbow off of my vacuum line and i wasn't sure where the screws were. While i wasn't able to get it 100% sealed its still better than nothing!

How did you remove the vent line to the canister. The one with the 2 yellow clips. I really wish you showed that part. I've been struggling for a while now.

You squeeze the two exposed plastic parts, push the line towards the canister, and it should release when you pull it off.

What does the cannister evap solenoid next to the battery on the driver's of that truck side do?

That is the valve that pulls from the canister vapors to the intake to burn it

I have a 2007 Ranger with poor MPG. I noticed that there is no hose from the canister (nexto to the gas tank) to the purge valve, but I have no error codes. Could it be possible that the missing hose is causing the poor mpg on my truck? Thank you

If too much air is getting into the system, it will cause problems. I would replace the hose or cap the system at the purge valve.

I have an 06 Ranger (2.3) that has poor MPG. It has 123K on the clock. A few months back I coded a replacement switch for the canister, it had bad MPG at that time. Got the switch in and had 1 tankful of great MPG, then things went south again. I'm thinking I need to replace the canister now too...Thoughts?

I have heard of people soaking their canister in soapy water and resolving the issue. Might be worth a try before replacing.

How do the three bolts tighten? is there a nut mounted on the plastic holes that it grabs?

There is a metal C-Clip in every hole with bolt threads.

I know this is an older video and this isn’t the point of the video, but is it possible to just delete this entire system and cap off the lines? I don’t have emissions in my county

You could remove the EVAP system, but you would have to leave the tank houses exposed so the fuel tank vents. This will result in your truck smelling like gas. I personally would not remove the evap system. Is is possible, yes. I would not recommend it.

You don't show all of the canister, how many hoses has the canister and where are conected

There are only two houses connected, one hose wraps around the back to the selnoid. The other goes to the purge valve.

What is cool about autozone is that you can buy both parts and replace one at a time. Usually, the purge valve will show other signs when bad. Like the pump will click when filling up with gas before it is full. Not always, but I see it about 50% of the time.

Make sure your gas cap is clean and clicks tight when you close it.
