You are not alone, Mel. You have comrades far and wide, who many would be willing to help you at a moment’s notice. And then you also have those people who need you to continue your art because it helps them not feel secluded. Thanks for watching the film and for sharing its impact on you.

I've been in the same hobby for about 15 years with well over 1000 1/6 figures alone. It's definitely a passion-based undertaking. I do everything in terms of customizing except painting. Much respect given!

Never stop! Your passion nurtures your soul. What figures do you prefer to make? Originals? Or iconic characters?

I got into it the past year. I am not where near as good as him, but I have a deep obsession with movies and trying to make my characters look like the movies.
I try to create things that Hot Toys/Sideshow/3rd Parties never do like John Carter Movie and so on.
It is time consuming, but that is what passions and hobbies are.

This was great. He said something in this video that resonated with me.
He said, "I have so many things I want to make that aren't out there, so I guess I'm going to have to make it myself."
Which is what I did. Figures they never made, I'm making myself too. I started in 2016 and am just about done.
I made 6 custom figures and a diorama for them. As a musician and artist, this is one more facet of the arts I had to learn. It's fun. But exhausting too.

    • @reelnationmedia

Crafting is always arduous. As an artist, you are manifesting a part of you into this world. This is creation. Our fruit is our labor. Never cease your art!

I’ve done similar as well at I believe some point for almost every figure collecter or artist life they will want something that hasn’t been made I’ve made a lot of custom figures so far and I’m thinking of getting into scenery and diorama making

Respect. Anytime I see an artist talk about their art and their ability to create, it doesn’t matter to me what their art is or how good or bad they are at it, I always respect their passion to keep doing it and their need to get better at it.

I do the same thing and I'm constantly looking at things and thinking this would make a great whatever. And if you're doing something that makes you happy and you feel you've accomplished something that makes you feel better, who cares what others think. If you're not hurting or being detrimental to other people, what does it matter what you do? That goes for all hobbies, and passions. you're a long time dead so live the way you want.

All I need is a blank, plain human. to build a suit of armor on. The whole figure will be covered in scratch built detail, so it doesn't have to be realistic or anything.
