- Greg Daniels experience in the Ohio State Marching Band (1971-1974) was similar to many who have come through TBDBITL, filled with the beloved tradition, nostalgia and sounds of Script Ohio. What makes his story different, however, was not his inability to see, but his musical and marching ability that opened the doors for future band members. Members that otherwise may not have had the chance to march for the scarlet and gray. This story is part of the Carmen Collection, a series that highlights hidden Buckeye experiences, challenges and accomplishments that have helped shape the university. The Carmen Collection is part of Ohio State’s sesquicentennial celebration. #OSU150
Wow! As a member of the class of 63, I did not know much about Greg. It would be difficult enough for a blind person to attend OSU main campus let alone be in the marching band. I salute you Greg for your determination and success in the OSU marching band and your continued efforts in publishing our alumni newsletter.
This was super!! Thanks so much for producing and sharing!
I remember Greg from Shelby High. I was amazed that a blind person could do all the things he could do. What an inspiration he was to us. Most of us could not approach life with the "can do" attitude that Greg processes. Thank you Greg. Job well done.
