It's been nice if you to put the numbers when you're explaining it or where it goes where I like 87 87a 86 85 and 30 if you to put the numbers somebody with a note how to wire it up
I’ll do that in the future. I didn’t even realize that because I’ve been using them for so long and I’ve never looked at the numbers. I always check them with a meter when I get a different brand or style…
Great video. I am tying to make a roller that imprints bees wax foundation which is about 18 inches long it needs to turn forward and reverse and stop at end of the cycles. Start one cycle hit a reed switch turn the other cycle and stop back to the starting position. I can use micro swithes. I am thinking this would do that?
Hi, this is impressive, well done. Will this setup work same way, if instead of push button switch, just disconnect/connect power(using a timer for the main power supply)?
@@mikmaster63 If it works, that will be great. I just wonder if is this red switch push button switch normally closed, like when it press is open, when release is closed(disconnect/connect in one step)? Or is act like normal switch? Thanks.
@@mikmaster63 Thanks for explanation. Maybe I can replace this switch with timer(not sure how will work with 1min connection). Hope will have all components soon and try it out. Thanks for inspiration.
Yes it would but if you get a spdt timer. You can eliminate the switch and one relay. So one SPDT timer and two relays. Or two SPDT timers. And of course the limit switches.
I'm trying to wire up almost this same set up for an auto resetting slingshot target with a flash pot that makes a big poof of smoke. the only thing is I need the motor to immediately reverse when the top reed switch is reached and not just stop. I would like to hire a tutor that could teach me in person as we build my project. I have built a resetting target that resets with a pull solenoid but the new target is heavier and the stroke on solenoids is not long enough so I need to use a motor.
Thank you very much for your response I'm still trying to figure it out. It's great that there people like you that take the time to help others😃@@mikmaster63
@@mikmaster63 Oh someone asked you to create it so a single press/depress button to reverse polarity on the motor. OK Well in your other videos I have seen you put in the description that you were asked about it. You don't have any mention of being asked on this one. So I had to ask why. Still I would have just used a SPDT rocker/toggle/button switch. Less wiring. Less power consumption.
I started with RV related videos. One of them was a circuit to reverse polarity with relays. Then I started getting requests on how to do different types of circuits. I don’t watched other videos or Google it. I try and figure them out on my own. That’s the fun part for me. So they may not always be the best way to do something but they may give someone some ideas on how to do something. The next one I have coming out was a lot of fun to do…
Any chance you have a diagram for changing the direction of the motor without having to restart it with the on/off button? So the object moved by the motor can travel each way in a automatic fashion
That’s going to take some thought. Maybe just removing the switch and when the magnets get to the reed switch it should go the other direction automatically. I don’t know if that would wear out the components prematurely. I’ll think on it and if I come up with something I’ll let you know.
I think I know what you are looking for. Operate it with toggle and switches to auto stop??? It will take me a while to make it working 7 days a week right now.

Thank you so much. This circuit is exactly what I needed to power the headlight pods on my car restoration. It has saved me hours!
What type of switch ? is it puls switch ?
On/off switch. Press and it closes press again and it opens

Thanks I have watched this one, but I need it to stop after 2 cycles so I can reload the wax foundation and imprint it.@@mikmaster63
I like it, but I need a circuit that will self-reverse at about .3 cycles/second. (1 cycle/ 3 seconds)
Thank you for this.

I just now noticed there are more than two wires coming off your motor and my motor only has two not sure if I can do this.@@mikmaster63
Why not just use a SPDT rocker/toggle/button switch?
Someone asked me how I would make this scenario work. I have videos on reversing polarity switches also…

Just uploaded a video hope it helps. th-cam.com/video/DJFEP_NFep8/w-d-xo.html
Yes you can. You can do it with a TPDT relay, or three relays, or two relays and a diode or just two relays.
what type of relay you used? please explain.
Metra Install E-123 Bay Tyco Relay 12 Volt 30 Amp Each a.co/d/fOHUpj3
I use 12 volt 30 amp relays usually. This is one brand I have used.
