I was gifted a set of tingsha bells for my birthday this year. Your video was very helpful! I am a practitioner of a variety of energetic practices and I'm thrilled to learn how to play the bells, and incorporate them into my meditation and every day rituals. It would be really helpful to learn how to identify what note/frequency my bells are set to. Next on my meditation wish list: singing bowls. Thanks for this great instructional video.
You can download phone apps that are capable of recognising your bell's tune. I use the Tuner-Pitched app. I have a few bells but the ones I use here are my favourite. They produce D7 tune (upper manipura to anahata frequencies). Machine-made bowls play easily but they are too piercing, I suggest getting handmade ones instead. Even before having these tools, I had heard them in my meditation already -bowls, drums, string instruments, and synthesiser-like sounds. So yes, they could assist our practice. Thank you for watching.
Thank you so much for sharing this video it is very helpful. My question is what is the difference between the 2 tingsha bells? As far as I know the second tingsha are the antique bronze alloys. And the first one is copper?
Hi. I had them crafted from Nepal according to my specs. My next shipment is around March of 2024. You can get in touch with me through my website sukhayoganz.com for details.
Hi. Uneven sound is not ideal. It could be the strings. Try adjusting the knot underneath the bells. Remove extra dangling strings. Secure them firmly, too.
@@SukhaYogaSchool Hi thanks for your advice. I spoke to my percussionist friend he said to weigh each bell accurately and see how close they are. There is nearly 0.8 of a gram difference. Apparently I have to remove material from the heavier one till they nearly match in weight or tune. Slowly and carefully from the underside with a drill in different places. I will let you know how it goes. 🙏❤️🙏
