Very pleasant. The Byrds were very talented with transcending Folk with Psycheadelia in the 60's. That 'pulse' is what made them popular in the 60's. The L.A scene as well as the San Francisco scene really established more than a musical movement, but more of that consciousness that was growing back then. They were more than just that spaced out appearance that I remember on the "Ed Sullivan show (Good God like Ed was "Tuned in" ) ! I still dig it!

I agree completely. The imagery is outstanding (crystal colors no one knows the name of, legendary fountain). In a weird way it reminds me of a Jack Vance story, The Galactic Prime. Incidentally, it was written by Goffin and King, who also contributed Going Back to this album, another of my all-time favorites.

Wish that THE ASSOCIATION, group and some of this type of bands, woulda gotten together back then ; coulda been a heck of a show. Add Fifth Dimension into it, too. Group 'em all together on one stage.....

Beautiful this song. It touches the heart. It is the spirit of freedom. In no hurry to go anywhere.

Fun Fact: a couple of decades ago Roger McGuin used to hang out on an FRS Radio forum where I was active as a mod. He was a great guy, did NOT play "Mister Big" -- just another radio enthusiast, providing stuff like range reports from street level and between skyscrapers while talking with his Wife during a business trip to NYC. He was an all-around really great guy who did NOT play off his celebrity.

Both "Goin' Back" & "Wasn't Born To Follow" were Gerry Goffin & Carole King tunes.
