I need to up my posing skill. Would it be effective to buy a Kindle book of poses and have the client pick the ones (s)he likes? Or are there certain principles or techniques of posing that would help me come up with something on the spot? I think I remember principles better than specific poses. I think rereading my body language book might help me. Maybe I should ask what kinds of personality traits they want to convey--assertiveness, gentleness, spontanaity, sass, humor, resistance.

I agree that learning principles is more helpful than specific poses - I find them much easier to remember and "flow" between at session vs. trying to remember dozens of individual poses. I think the personality traits they are hoping to convey depend on your specific client/ideal customer - mine are definitely wanting to convey joy and confidence at their sessions. I have a course all about senior posing that may be helpful to you! hopetaylor.com/seniorcourse
