Hey Luke from Georgia (USA). What a gr8 find!! Thanks for sharing it with us. Have toyed with the idea of growing a sweet cherry but never dared. No cold issues here just getting enough chill hours and resistance to diseases. Keep the videos coming. Subscribed to the channel. Randy/GA

Any chance of a vid on how you started and how to start a fruit tree nursery? Great channel!

Wonderful. And thanks. Love the Trout Creek area. Some of the warmest microclimates in the state!

Are you able to compare how the Cherry tastes compared to the Romance series? I'm up in Alaska, and trying to find a sweet cherry that is both cold hardy and short season is a goal that many of us have.

Thanks a lot! Would be fun to dig up some root suckers at some point. Likely wouldn't be for a few years, though.

Hold on back up. You’re telling me you discovered a grove of sweet cherries that survive in a climate that gets down to -35F? That is zone 3! I have never ever seen a sweet cherry rated for anything below zone 5. I’ve been told constantly that sweet cherries just don’t survive in colder climates than that. I’ve been dying to find a sweet cherry that is more hardy like this!

I wonder how they came to be there? They aren't native are they? Accidentally? Species? Can I have one? 😮

      Johnny Cherryseed?

I’d say most likely from domesticated cherries that were planted in the vicinity and then carried by birds! Cherry pits are some of the most heavily scattered of the fruit trees by birds.
