2021: 8 Rounds of Chemotherapy (Carboplatin and Paclitaxel) with 30 concurrent radiation treatments to chest and lung
Failed Immunotherapy directly after Chemo and Radiation (Durvalumab, 1 round)
2022: Chemotherapy
10 rounds of Chemotherapy (Carboplatin, Alimta, and Avastin)
6 with Carboplatin, 4 without
Targeted Brain Radiation (Completed)

The purpose of my channel is to document my cancer journey to look back on, and/or help anyone else going through anything similar. It is also to potentially help loved ones supporting those who are in this fight as well. This is also an easy way to update a lot of people at once. My main goal is to have footage of this journey for my husband and children to look back on. I originally created this channel as a sort of video diary for my
family.

Everything you feel is 100% normal. It does suck and it is unfair. After my husband died, I went through a period where every day I would get the kids to school, then sit in my husband's closet, and cry and just scream into his dirty t-shirts, which I refused to wash. You are doing amazing as a father in one of the biggest tests of your life. It is not easy, but you are thriving at the job!

I can remember when I went camping with my Uncle, his second wife and my cousins to Daytona Beach in their full-fledged family camper. And we watched the very first space shuttle go off back in the early 80's. We were miles away from the space shuttle across the water and the whole ground shook violently! It was so crazy! I have the time of my life! But I always had the time of my life when I was with my cousins. It never mattered what we were doing or where we were at. Especially my fourth cousin, Sandy. I can always relate to her the most because she was a middle child and so was I. I was always in complete Bliss whenever I went over there in the summer months. ❤❤❤❤

In the last 15 years I’ve lost my mother, sister, brother and son (all due to a rare newly discovered genetic disease) as well as my best friend. While I cannot relate to the loss of a spouse, I can relate to grief in general. It’s true that it’s never ending, and though you go through the 5 stages of grief, it can come and hit you at any moment, no matter how long it’s been, and in any fashion it chooses. You’re being the best example you can for your kids by letting them see it’s okay to feel the feelings you need to feel in the moment, never suppress, feel it, deal with it and learn to live with it. It’s the only chance they have at a happy life without their mother.
I admire you Kyle, and I’ve followed your journey since Jenny’s early treatments. Please know you’re not alone and always being covered in prayers, near and afar. Much love to the kiddos.

Here’s an idea coming from someone who camped my entire childhood. You did such a fantastic job being first time campers. My mom would get us packed except we had to do our clothes (when we were older of course). But she would list out everything we could possibly need..including food literally EVERYTHING! And kept that list so she could use it as a master list. It seems like we always were set. My mom was a brilliant mom and ORGANIZED! Your kids had so much fun anyway. Just being with you and at the beach is enough! Kyle it’s so hard when your life partner is missing. I know how it feels to not have the affection and caring when it’s gone. But you are handling so well. Not even been a year. Hang in there POPS!
Yesssss…I too made a list on my computer and it included everything I’d need for ANY trip, and for every trip I would print out that list and cross off things I didn’t need for that particular trip, and then cross them off as I packed them for my current trip. EVERYTHING was on that list.
Yes I am a big fan of lists! Especially for traveling.
Kyle you are making memories your kids will never forget. They will look back someday and remember these camping trips and how much fun they had with their Dad. It will mean so much to them.

Kyle…I know exactly what you mean…my mom and I used to go to Maine each year for vacation and after she passed away 10 years ago I still go alone and bring my dog. And I get excited about going but I have my moments that I just burst into tears because the feeling I am looking for isn’t the same without her. I must say the ocean does provide healing power. Cold or not you can see the happiness on the kids faces and that is the most important part…you are one awesome dad!

You did well. I've been camping for many years. We developed a check off list we can print out of things that have to go into the camper. Even to this day, I forget something for a meal...whether it's a utensil we share with the house, or one aspect of a meal...there's always something which makes you laugh about later...kids were fed, they had a great time. THAT IS WHAT MATTERS!

I lost my husband a couple years ago and I can tell you that you will have beautiful and treasured times as you continue this journey in life but there will be those moments you will be overwhelmed with real heart wrenching pain of wishing that Special person was right there with you sharing those precious moments with you.Those children are ur saving grace to keep you focused on staying positive and happy. Okay, I am a rational, reasonable person. So, how can I be so in love with people I have never met?? No movie or tv show has ever affected me the way watching these videos have!! I wish I lived closer to you guys, I would love to hang out with you sometime!! I truly love you all!!
Many years ago my husband needed to go to San Diego for a week for work. Seeing that he would be on the other side of the country (we live in Tampa) his work offered to pay for me as well. We decided to make it a family trip and brought our daughters. We knew it would be on the cooler side but nothing like we expected. Let’s just saying freezing in July is not the norm for Floridians. Our daughters went nuts. Each evening they would sit in the hot tub drinking hot chocolate. On the last evening we went to the beach area for a picnic. As a child I lived in Washington and visited Oregon during the summer. Growing up I spent many days swimming in the Pacific. I made (yes made/forced) the family to walk up to their knees in the Pacific. They hated every moment screaming it was cold. Before the haters start I joined them. Unlike them I went all the way under and enjoyed every moment. Years later my family still talks about the trip and how happy they are that I made them get in.
Kyle you are doing an amazing job. And one day you will be with Jenny again. Right now Jenny is getting your future room ready with God. She is making sure everything is perfect for you and those babies. 🙏🏼❤️🙏🏼

It's a bitter-sweet moment...the sounds of the kids laughing and having fun in the background mixed with the sorrow of missing a loved one that's there with you in spirit.
What a fun time for the children. They will remember these times for the rest of their lives. My parents took us camping all the time and I still remember those trips even though they happened many years ago.

Boy, do I know how you felt. Sitting on the beach alone. I went back to our favorite vacation spot after my husband passed. It wasn't the same. I was there looking at the ocean, but alone. But I still had the memories of us being there. But at that time memories weren't even comforting, cause I wanted my husband back. HUGS Kyle ❤
Kyle, start stocking up on condiment packets everywhere you see them. Packaged so you can keep a small stash in the camper. We also always had 1 swimsuit and 1 sweatsuit that stayed in the camper for emergency use.

The ocean is my happy place and I thank God that I live so close to the Atlantic Ocean and can get my fix anytime I need it. It’s also a place where I have so many memories of my family spending day together on the days my dad had off work. It’s a dream of mine to see the Pacific Ocean. I miss Jenny so much! You’re doing a great job raising your kids Kyle and Jen is proud of you! Edit to say that my mom used to make egg salad and tuna salad sandwiches for the beach and never failed us kids would get sand in our sandwiches! She made us eat them anyway 😂 Thanks for the memories!

I understand Kyle. I live 30 minuties from one of the most beautiful beaches in the US. We used to go all the time as he called it his "Happy Place." It has been two years and I still have not gone by myself. You are doing a wonderful job with the kids and watching you and your family has given me the courage to do a few things I haven't done since he passed on. Thank you for showing us that true grief for the loss of your other half does not have to stop us from doing things, even though it is so damn hard.
