I bought a flake green MXR11 at a flea market ( $5 ) and used it in Wachusett MA reservoir. Caught 1 landlocked salmon ( estimated 8/9 lbs ) and two browns 4/5 lbs range. Still the largest fish I’ve caught there to date.
For flats fishing they definetelly beat xraps, and they cast wonderfully. I die by jigs & tubes to catch anything in florida flats, but when the bite slows down nothing can beat a maxrap so far, and also catch more variety of fish than the jig & tube but for some reason smaller ones
Update, big cudas will trash this lure and water will get in messing up the action, the platic on the outside wouldn't last long under barracuda bites and water gets in.
@Skyliner04s hmm, I really like the DUO Realis Crank for the smaller size. I also like the Lucky Craft LC (or RC) 1.5 square bill even though it may be slightly larger than what you're looking for. The Manns One- is a popular choice and relatively inexpensive. What depth are you looking for?
@PAoutdoorsman592 I suppose they would for the pike and musky but they would probably get damaged fairly quickly. I don't know about the walleye. I wouldn't use them for catfish as I don't think it would be very effective on them (bottom feeding fish vs. suspending, shallow lure).
I actually own 2 of the 11's and 6 of the 13's (including the discontinued sardine color). I actually LOVE the bait for a few reasons: I don't own a boat, so I have to fish from a dock or shore. This is a shallow water condition, which is what its made for. I can cast this bait 10 feet farther than others. This pulls in bigger fish to shore while reeling in. Finally, I've caught bigger Pike than others around me with it - I would never consider using a diff. bait for Pike.
@MassBass110 I almost bought that lure in my last TW jerkbait purchase but I didn't think anyone would have been interested in seeing that review. Sorry about that. I'll look into grabbing a couple.
@TackleJunky81 yeah, me too. It's not that it's not a nice lure, it's just that its hard to argue that the LC version is a better performing lure and costs the same.
They're ok. To be completely honest with you, noses you can get a good deal on em, I'd buy a Lucky Craft Flassh Pointer. They essentially serve the same purpose (shallow diving and subtle action) but the LC is much higher quality and will perform better for it's desired purpose.
i use the maxrap 7 and the x rap 8 for sea trolling and casting and i have to say the maxrap has killed it compared to the x rap! yes it is overpriced i bought a maxrap 7 for 13 euro and thats not cheap!

miopera40 how many barracuda average before it is destroyed?

I agree with you. Thanks for watching

What is your favorite small hardbait (2-3 inches)? Due to the lack of largemouth bass in Germany, I´m hunting perch.
How are the 11's? And do you think ghost purple would be good for saltwater fishing?

what max rap is this? i know of the 3 hook max rap
I use the 17 and 15 size for pike and walleye and I like them very much and the 17 size does have a little rolling action but it is a bit over priced.
Nice review Kevin! I agree, for the money I'm gonna stick with the Lucky Craft!

Kvd (maybe strike king) has a really small crank bait would probably work good for pan fish.
This is the smallest one I believe. 11 size I think.

You should look at the Yo-Zuri Sashimi Suspending Jerkbait.
It's not a terrible lure by any means, it's just expensive for the kind of lure it is. $5 is a great deal.
Yeah, I wasn't really impressed with it. Especially at that price point. I expect quite a bit out of a $15-16 lure and this just didn't do it for me.
This lure attracks too much, so the smaller ones will take it first, it works great when the big ones bite is slow
Good thing I didn't pay full price for these. I only paid $5 a piece for them.
