Maybe you're being a bit facetious here, but this is an excellent breakdown! While the Signet is great, I'm a sucker for Sauternes cask maturation and finishes, so I will have to go for Nectar d'Or as my favorite Glenmo...

Nectar d'Or is very nice - great choice!

Clonality Cognac finish Batch 2 is awesome, finished for 19 months at 47%ABV. Always enjoy your reviews👍 Sláinte ☘️🇮🇪

The only Glenmorangie in my cabinet is the ASTAR at 52% ABV. A delightful single malt.
Recently picked up a Jefferson's Single Barrel Rye (94 proof) finished in Cognac Casks. A "WOW" whiskey.

A "WOW" whiskey is such a great find - ENJOY!

I quite liked this one, but imo it's nothing compared to the first release in this series, the 12 malaga cask. Also, I don't think any in this line will have boxes (neither have one in the states). Cheers!

I also like the 12 malaga cask much better!

Cognac and Armagnac are both aged in french oak Tanic and spicy character. What is interesting is even the very old Armagnac's are spicy when they are first open. A burst of cinnamon and clove. After 6-12 months that goes back into the background and then you get the complex spirit. Oxidize in the bottle, it helps out the the Armagnac alot.

But does ethanol oxidize in the bottle??
It would then turn into acetaldehyde & acetic acid which is a type of vinegar

@@WhiskyJason1 Vinegar is made from lower ABV things such as wines. What you are talking about here is impossible. It is similar to honey, honey can not ferment but add water to honey and mix and then it can ferment.

The cognac casks are made from European oak which is more bitter, tannic and spicy than American white oak. This may be the reason why whisky tastes bitter. The cognac itself is usualy sweetened and the wood bitternes is mitigated.
My favorite Glenmorangie is the 14 yo Quinta Ruban. Nice taste and good value. Signet is way too overpriced for a NAS bottle of booze. I wouldn't mind tasting a sample but paying the premium for a full size bottle - absolutely not.
    Cheers!

it is permissible to add up to 8 grams of sugar per liter to cognac, and certainly it is very common to add sugar especially to young cognacs.
I did not know that - thanks!

I haven't had the best of luck with cognac finishes but I will generally drink anything Glenmorangie - this however sounds like it should be given a wide berth😉

Maybe this will also make it to Denmark and you can review it as well

I think there is no whisky in the world that Jason likes.

      False - I love Redbreast 21 and Lot 40 :-)

Agree, why add coloring to Scotch? The people buying this aren’t afraid to see light colored whiskey.

Personally I think it is really too acidic and not pleasant to taste pure🥵 Its price is exaggerated. This whiskey is a failure. I use it in cocktails to finish the bottle.
