I really want to see more of will and mike duringg volume 2 I feel like we havent seen enough of the California storyline

charlie confirming that jonathan notices will's feelings for mike and how he put mike's feelings and needs before his own and that's sad to see, and jonathan looking so sad for will when he sees his brother being a third wheel... breaks my heart. 😭
Having Jonathan involved in that would be so much more interesting than his stoner storyline and whining about Nancy. He and Will had some of the most powerful scenes in seasons 1 and 2. Maybe they’re saving it for volume 2 but I would’ve liked to see more interactions between them

@@eliavacca1408they were already very close before that, I think the pandemic pushed them away because of the postponement of filming and season 4 helped to bring them back together

Wow, this is the first interview where the cast basically confirmed that Will is in love with Mike! I'm surprised Finn confirmed it, since Noah and Millie said in the Variety interview that it's up to the audience to interpret Will's sexuality. But it's gonna be sad since it'll be unrequited love since Mike is with El.

I’m so sad bc the “mutual understanding” is probably that both Will and Mike acknowledge that Mike is already in a relationship with El and that he loves her, and it’s just going to end in Will being rejected 😭 it makes sense for the story but I love Byler so much

i mean eleven was literally experimented on all of her childhood and i think it would be kinda weird if suddenly mike, who is such a critical part of who she is as a person since he took her in when they first found her in the woods, just left her to be a with will, who’s basically her brother. like i feel will should get a bf but like not mike, and i don’t think mike feels that way towards will anyway like he’s his best friend

Not that he needs to be dating to be happy, but like why make him have a crush on mike if he’s just doomed to have his heart broken, yk. With el at least, her trajectory seems to be that she’s going to be reunited with hopper/find out he’s still alive, see all her friends again, she’s on her way to living a normal life, but will is basically just being reduced to “sad gay kid” and idk it doesn’t seem fair to him. Plus, I would low key hate if they pulled a voltron and just brought in some random ass character with no development or screen time to be wills boyfriend, just to “please the gays”. It’s already kind of happening for robin, I would hate to see it happen to will too

a bit late to the convo but they did confirm that there won't be any new characters being added in season 5 so Byler still very much has a shot of happening. and even then I don't think the Duffer Brothers would do something like adding a character in at the last moment anyway, they're smart and for them to do that they know it would just cheapen the show and the writing
I mean it was obvious before but this just confirms that will likes mike. I mean i didnt think they were allowed to confirm this but they straight up just said he loves him. Again it was quire obvious so its not a big deal

I do too. But there's so much hatred for Will and a lot of homophobia that it's literally making me sick to think so many people can actually have that much hatred. I've recently been finding all these old videos from years ago and the excessive hate directed towards both Will and his actor for being gay is way beyond disturbing. It is way bad. I know what I saw in the show and I am really tired of the haters telling me that's not what I saw. Sorry I definitely don't mean you of course.
