My depop account says i need to verified my account so i go and check and there is nothing to verified and it wont give my shipping label so if it takes 21 days how am i supposed to ship the them if i don’t have the shipping label
Paige Mullins what u should do is contact PayPal using the chat support, let them know about your issue and what I did was connect my bank to my paypal and now it works.

Isabella Sanar i have two emails. one email i used on paypal and i used the other on depop. my issue was that they were matching so i changed the depop email to the same ss the paypal and it worked!
2nd Edit Additional Update: Some themes I'm finding in the comment section. A common misconception -- in order to very your PayPal account, aside from confirming your email, you need to connect your BANK ACCOUNT NOT bank card with PayPal. You do this via using your bank account and routing number. Update: From what I’ve heard around the community - another reason you may not received payment yet in the community is that if you’ve JUST created your PayPal account and it’s absolutely NEW, then when PayPal receives money from Depop for the FIRST time (only) , PayPal may decide to withhold your money for 21days. They do this to prevent fraud and it’s dumb but understandable. Some in the community suggest shipping out your item anyway, and eventually the money will come when it does. However you may not receive Seller Protection doing it. If you received a Depop receipt and notification that the item’s been sold, then likely the person did actually pay. What you should be wary of is if you see a cancellation of payment email soon after (then maybe the buyer is trying to bamboozle you)
This is easier to do if you chose “Arrange my own shipping” to create shipping label separately. Versus if you chose “Ship with Depop” then you can’t access the shipping label, and would have to pay out of your own pocket to get a new shipping label IF you want to ship on time. Otherwise, tell the buyer to wait till things are resolved through Depop customer service before shipping it out.
Hello so I just sold 2 items on depop but PayPal is holding both payments, I still went ahead & shipped out both items already! It’s been since the weekend that I sold those items & the money still says it’s pending. Could it be that it’s because my PayPal account is pretty new so now it’s holding both payments for 21 days? @@bliszxo2458 Hi Bliz, likely it's the case with 21 days. Either way, for your situation it'll be best to reach out to PayPal customer service, which I've linked in the video description. They'll likely be able to take a look at your account and give you a more accurate reading of why your payment is still pending.
To the first paragraph of this, yes, I linked my bank account to Paypal. I had my card but not my BANK ACCOUNT. Once I did this on Paypal I went back to depop and my shipping label was instantly available.
Hello! Had this problem as of 3/1/21. Had been trying to fix for days. FINALLY MY FIX was adding a bank account to my paypal and setting that as my preferred method, rather than having just a debit card on file. Once I did this, the money instantly went to my paypal and I was able to view the labels. Hope this helps!

if you guys are still having trouble i recommend contacting depop and they will email your shipping label right away :) just be sure to put your username and the buyer's user! it's a hassle because you have to do it for every order but i don't mind it since i haven't found any other solution but it works i promise you and it is worth it and they get to you right away you DO NOT have to wait!!

I got a person that bought my item yesterday and trying to view shipping label and I did get a payment received pending but I can’t get into the shipping label because of the verify and I’m having a hard time 😔
I FIGURED IT OUT: So I basically just deleted/removed the card that was on file in my Paypal account and then put it back in again. Then as soon as I did that I immediately was charged the Depop limited.

For new sellers if you click the link to your shipping label and it takes you to “verify PayPal account” if you only have your card added link your bank account to your PayPal along with your card and your label should appear
I’m having this issue, i just sold my first item and already messed up, but as an alternative can I just go to the post office and buy a shipping label there? And since their address is already shown on depop I can just add the info on the shipping label? Even if I have to pay for this shipping label myself at least I’ll learn for future reference lol

I didn't have the same issue but literally using this method helped with my different issue . Depop kept saying my pay pal card number was wrong but it definitely wasn't. So I got on my PayPal added my bank card then got back on depop and they let me use my bank card connected to PayPal and not my PayPal card 😂 girl thank you fr fr

trinae armstrong correct! Remember to update tracked shipping on the PayPal transaction so PayPal knows when it’s delivered safely and the sale is completed. Paypal’s “on hold” status should end and give you access to the money.

Literally you have to connect your bank account. Not just your debit card. Wait the 2 days for the two small transactions then enter them in on your laptop ( I recommend doing all this on desktop or laptop) and then you’ll be able to access your money and the shipping label.
my depop account said I needed to verify my PayPal account when I tried to print out my first shipping label-although I already had received the verification email from depop. all I had to do was add my bank to my PayPal account (in addition to my card) and I could see the shipping label and was able to print it out!!

Perhaps you can try disconnecting and reconnecting your paypal from your depop (if you haven’t already). Alternatively this one is a bit of a pinch, and I’d def message Depop about this. I’ve included a link to Depop’s help contact form in the video description. Especially if you already received the payment in PayPal, and the payment is not “on hold” or anything, i can’t think of a reason why depop would still think your paypal is not verified. Sorry I couldn’t be of further help Evan!

Do you have to link it to your bank? Like type in your account number and routing number? My email is confirmed my bank is confirms I’m still having issues but it said to become verified I need to link my bank to PayPal and sure I want to do that for safety reasons
My payment from the last few items I have sold it says on the shipping order that the money is transferring to my bank account by a certain date which was weeks ago now instead of going straight into my paypal account, I have verified my paypal and email and I still haven’t received the money, do you know why this is

Hmm that’s a tricky specific case, I’m not sure I’ll be able to give a relevant solution. Yeah it’s strange if Depop hasn’t taken their cut for you to be able to ship, definitely recommend updating your buyer on this situation and contact Depop help by submitting a request. Alternatively I bit the bullet, took the loss, and paid for my own shipping since I wanted to be reliable for my first sale. Be forewarned, the buyer won’t be able to give you a review because you’d be sending it out with a shipping label that’s not the one Depop generates for you (assuming you originally chose ‘Ship with Depop’ option)

Go to PayPal.com> then go to “wallet”> then go to “link a bank account”> then “choose your bank”> then fill out your banking information and go from there. This worked for me I don’t know if it will work for you but I’m just trying to help
Hey Ik this doesn’t have anything to do with this video but, my PayPal has been weird ever since I made the account and bought an item. I made it today at the checkout when I bought my first item and it worked but when I try to buy something now it says my card doesn’t work on this PayPal or something. Also when I try to link the PayPal to the account for selling it gives me this message “Sorry, we weren’t able to set up preapproved payments at this time.”
The payment says my payment is on hold and the payment is received. Does that mean it is claimed or unclaimed. And it says I need to need to update delivery information or order status to access money sooner
Ben Swannack If this is your first sold item and the first time you opened a PayPal account, it’s likely PayPal is withholding payment for 21 days to avoid any fraud. I suggest creating the shipping label through the PayPal transaction and shipping out the item if that’s what PayPal said to do. What some people have said in some forums is that after shipping the item and updating order status, that’s when the money came in for them. This is just a PayPal precaution that happens in the beginning to avoid any fraud. See PayPal link in the description for more info. Your payment is sent to your PayPal account but PayPal is the one withholding it temporarily
Brenda Lo Thanks for the advice. I sold my product on Depop and the person who has bought my item is happy and the order status on depop is sale complete. Does that mean I have to update the order status on paypal because I can’t find where I’m supposed to do that
Ben Swannack alternatively, what you can do is click on that transaction on PayPal and click “add tracking” and put in the USPS tracking #. That way PayPal knows the transaction had been fulfilled when it says that the item has been delivered. This way the buyer can’t do a chargeback on PayPal if they claimed they never received the package. This protects you as a seller using PayPal.
Go onto the Depop app > click your profile on bottom right hand corner > click on the settings gear icon on top right hand corner > click ‘Preferences’ > click ‘PayPal.....connected’ > Click ‘Disconnect your PayPal’

mayalouise hi! i solved the issue by simply filling in my bank account information in paypal. i had my card info just needed my bank info and finally i was able to receive the shipping label from my depop shop account. i hope this helps! 😊👍
Hello I am new to Depop and I’m about to make my first sale , I got an email from seller but the email seems a little suspicious he doesn’t want me to ship through usps because “it’s bad in his area” so he wants me to ship through ups . I replied to the email and it’s called “ask Depop and had the Depop logo as the profile picture and they reply to all my questions but it all seems fishy I need some help!
This buyer says he bought my item depop hasn't told me that it's been bought neither has Paypal but he sent confirmation that he has sent the money is it a scam?
If Depop didn’t send you an email receipt that he bought it, and Depop didn’t mark the item as sold nor send you a notification of the purchase, then it’s likely a scam.
I’m new to depop and sold my first item price was $40.10 and I go on PayPal and it says the money is pending , what should I do? I check on depop and I’m so confused I did everything that u said like reconnect my PayPal and both of my emails match . It also says on Depop to “mark as shipped” does that mean I have to ship it right now and then I’ll get payed or do I wait till the payment comes through . :(
Hi! Check out my pinned post for this video. In short, if you see the money on hold on PayPal, ship it out and make sure the shipping tracking number is updated to show up for that PayPal transaction. You should get your money once the tracking label shows the package was shipping or had been delivered. PayPal does this to prevent seller fraud for new accounts or those selling on Depop for the first time. Worse case, you’d just wait 21 days for PayPal to release your payment on hold. See paypal link in my description for more details.
iixkimmiix _ i just had to wait till the person got their things , you need to put the tracking number in depop once u ship it out and your payment on PayPal will hold until the buyer receive their things . You can also update shipping info on PayPal . Wait it out a week I got my money once they gave a rating!! They are just doing that to make sure u don’t scam the buyer but after that you should be able to get payments rapidly with future sells

Did you add the shipping tracking number to the PayPal transaction with the customer? That way the PayPal system can record that the items have been delivered. If you already did that, then I recommend chatting with PayPal customer service
i sold something for the first time. it was priced at 5.00 with depop shipping of 4.50, on depop it says that $0.00 was sent to my paypal but my paypal account says $5.00 pending i’m confused. i also can’t get my shipping label i verified my account and my bank card is linked to my paypal account.
On PayPal I received the payment but it’s not letting me accept it and it telling me to get my account verified and I have tried verifying my account many times but it does work
Does it say to verify bank or verify email? If both are connected, and you did receive a payment, then I recommend contacting PayPal customer service (see link provided in description)

I’ve already shipped my item with Depop but on PayPal my money says holding can I claim the money after they receive the product or is it suppose to be claimable right away
after the item is marked delivered, paypal will release the money to you. It's part of their security system against suspicious transactions. After the first sale, the holding of money shouldn't happen anymore.

Once the package is marked delivered, the pending message should disappear. Paypal marks the first sale as suspicious so they hold onto the payment until the transaction is marked completely delivered and then you receive the money. In future sales transactions, you should no longer see the pending message.
if it still does not work., you should go to Paypal and "link a bank" in case you did link your card but it did not work. (link either card and bank to paypal)

I figured out something i was having issues that my bank wasn’t confirmed/verified like i would click “my bank” and it would have a little yellow dot next to it. I just deleted everything in that section and re linked my bank on paypal got the label
If Depop sent you the receipt of the purchase, and you see the money in PayPal (albeit pending), then this is a concern for the PayPal side. Luckily this does mean the customer did pay for the item. But you’d have to ask PayPal why it’s “pending”
Every time I try link my PayPal to my depop it says “we are sorry we weren’t able to set up a pre approved payment at this time.please try again later” do you know why and how I can counteract this xx?
Hi Cynthia! Hmm, this sounds like a new troubleshooting case. Sorry I don’t think I’ll be able to help you with this one! Depop first takes the fee out of your PayPal Balance. If your PayPal Balance is $0, then it will take the fee out of your bank account linked to your PayPal.

I kept selling and eventually it did go away i am not sure if that happens to everyone who is new to selling ? But the money is no longer being put on hold. I hope that helps a little !! Sophia Extra Can you elaborate a bit more? Reconfirm via Depop or PayPal? For Depop, I recommend going to Settings > Edit Profile > change your email > go to your email and find the confirmation email from Depop. For PayPal, go to settings, and you’ll find a little tag underneath your email if it’s unconfirmed, if so, click on it and click on “resend confirmation email” And remember to check your email Spam folder if you don’t see it in your inbox!

@@rumbim9688 you should look in your emails they automatically send you an email with a link to confirm it
if you guys are still having trouble i recommend contacting depop and they will email your shipping label right away :) just be sure to put your username and the buyer's user! it's a hassle because you have to do it for every order but i don't mind it since i haven't found any other solution but it works i promise you and it is worth it and they get to you right away you DO NOT have to wait!!

I FIGURED IT OUT: So I basically just deleted/removed the card that was on file in my Paypal account and then put it back in again. Then as soon as I did that I immediately was charged the Depop limited.

For new sellers if you click the link to your shipping label and it takes you to “verify PayPal account” if you only have your card added link your bank account to your PayPal along with your card and your label should appear

I’m having this issue, i just sold my first item and already messed up, but as an alternative can I just go to the post office and buy a shipping label there? And since their address is already shown on depop I can just add the info on the shipping label? Even if I have to pay for this shipping label myself at least I’ll learn for future reference lol

@@allenbaker2875 no, all I had to do was wait for my banking account to be verified on depop so after that I just told the buyer to give herself a refund through PayPal and I sold it to her again

I didn't have the same issue but literally using this method helped with my different issue . Depop kept saying my pay pal card number was wrong but it definitely wasn't. So I got on my PayPal added my bank card then got back on depop and they let me use my bank card connected to PayPal and not my PayPal card 😂 girl thank you fr fr

I am a new seller on depop and just sold my first Item on depop but Paypal is holding my money you said in your pinned comment and Depop has received an automatic payment according to my paypal so should I just ship the item out anyways because depop has given me a shipping label to print ?
trinae armstrong correct! Remember to update tracked shipping on the PayPal transaction so PayPal knows when it’s delivered safely and the sale is completed. Paypal’s “on hold” status should end and give you access to the money.

Literally you have to connect your bank account. Not just your debit card. Wait the 2 days for the two small transactions then enter them in on your laptop ( I recommend doing all this on desktop or laptop) and then you’ll be able to access your money and the shipping label.

my depop account said I needed to verify my PayPal account when I tried to print out my first shipping label-although I already had received the verification email from depop. all I had to do was add my bank to my PayPal account (in addition to my card) and I could see the shipping label and was able to print it out!!

Perhaps you can try disconnecting and reconnecting your paypal from your depop (if you haven’t already). Alternatively this one is a bit of a pinch, and I’d def message Depop about this. I’ve included a link to Depop’s help contact form in the video description. Especially if you already received the payment in PayPal, and the payment is not “on hold” or anything, i can’t think of a reason why depop would still think your paypal is not verified. Sorry I couldn’t be of further help Evan!

Yes it’s not enough to link a debit card or anything to PayPal, you’ll have to link your bank account via account number and routing number

Hmm that’s a tricky specific case, I’m not sure I’ll be able to give a relevant solution. Yeah it’s strange if Depop hasn’t taken their cut for you to be able to ship, definitely recommend updating your buyer on this situation and contact Depop help by submitting a request. Alternatively I bit the bullet, took the loss, and paid for my own shipping since I wanted to be reliable for my first sale. Be forewarned, the buyer won’t be able to give you a review because you’d be sending it out with a shipping label that’s not the one Depop generates for you (assuming you originally chose ‘Ship with Depop’ option)

Go to PayPal.com> then go to “wallet”> then go to “link a bank account”> then “choose your bank”> then fill out your banking

Hey Ik this doesn’t have anything to do with this video but, my PayPal has been weird ever since I made the account and bought an item. I made it today at the checkout when I bought my first item and it worked but when I try to buy something now it says my card doesn’t work on this PayPal or something. Also when I try to link the PayPal to the account for selling it gives me this message “Sorry, we weren’t able to set up preapproved payments at this time.”
The payment says my payment is on hold and the payment is received. Does that mean it is claimed or unclaimed. And it says I need to need to update delivery information or order status to access money sooner
Ben Swannack If this is your first sold item and the first time you opened a PayPal account, it’s likely PayPal is withholding payment for 21 days to avoid any fraud. I suggest creating the shipping label through the PayPal transaction and shipping out the item if that’s what PayPal said to do.
What some people have said in some forums is that after shipping the item and updating order status, that’s when the money came in for them. This is just a PayPal precaution that happens in the beginning to avoid any fraud.

Ben Swannack alternatively, what you can do is click on that transaction on PayPal and click “add tracking” and put in the USPS tracking #. That way PayPal knows the transaction had been fulfilled when it says that the item has been delivered. This way the buyer can’t do a chargeback on PayPal if they claimed they never received the package. This protects you as a seller using PayPal.

Go onto the Depop app > click your profile on bottom right hand corner > click on the settings gear icon on top right hand corner > click ‘Preferences’ > click ‘PayPal.....connected’ > Click ‘Disconnect your PayPal’

Hello I am new to Depop and I’m about to make my first sale , I got an email from seller but the email seems a little suspicious he doesn’t want me to ship through usps because “it’s bad in his area” so he wants me to ship through ups . If Depop didn’t send you an email receipt that he bought it, and Depop didn’t mark the item as sold nor send you a notification of the purchase, then it’s likely a scam.

Hi! Check out my pinned post for this video. In short, if you see the money on hold on PayPal, ship it out and make sure the shipping tracking number is updated to show up for that PayPal transaction. You should get your money once the tracking label shows the package was shipping or had been delivered. PayPal does this to prevent seller fraud for new accounts or those selling on Depop for the first time. Worse case, you’d just wait 21 days for PayPal to release your payment on hold. See paypal link in my description for more details.

iixkimmiix _ i just had to wait till the person got their things , you need to put the tracking number in depop once u ship it out and your payment on PayPal will hold until the buyer receive their things . You can also update shipping info on PayPal . Wait it out a week I got my money once they gave a rating!! They are just doing that to make sure u don’t scam the buyer but after that you should be able to get payments rapidly with future sells

Did you add the shipping tracking number to the PayPal transaction with the customer? That way the PayPal system can record that the items have been delivered.

after the item is marked delivered, paypal will release the money to you. It's part of their security system against suspicious transactions. After the first sale, the holding of money shouldn't happen anymore.

Once the package is marked delivered, the pending message should disappear. Paypal marks the first sale as suspicious so they hold onto the payment until the transaction is marked completely delivered and then you receive the money. In future sales transactions, you should no longer see the pending message.

If Depop sent you the receipt of the purchase, and you see the money in PayPal (albeit pending), then this is a concern for the PayPal side. Luckily this does mean the customer did pay for the item. But you’d have to ask PayPal why it’s “pending”

Depop first takes the fee out of your PayPal Balance. If your PayPal Balance is $0, then it will take the fee out of your bank account linked to your PayPal.

For Depop, I recommend going to Settings > Edit Profile > change your email > go to your email and find the confirmation email from Depop.
For PayPal, go to settings, and you’ll find a little tag underneath your email if it’s unconfirmed, if so, click on it and click on “resend confirmation email”
And remember to check your email Spam folder if you don’t see it in your inbox!
