Fun Fact: in the Japanese verisons of the first 3 games, Crash's death animtion of him only having a head and shoes are replaced with him being flatned because apparently there where murders happening in japan at the time with only the person's head and shoes being found so it had to be replaced when porting the game to Japan

It wasn't actually removed, it was just altered slightly: the animation is exactly the same, but Crash's model remains completely flat during it.

Wrong killer. He was executed in the early 90's. The killer during Crash 2's release decapitated his victims and placed their shoes under their heads.

As a Japanese Crash player, I say that the "fun fact" is a lie. Crash dies in the head-and-shoe animation even in Japanese ver and there was no such a murderer as far as I know and can research. Maybe someone misunderstood a story of an actual murderer who killed children and put one's head on the school gate in late 90s.

5:14 - I know that Coco Bandicoot is trying to hammer the Viscount, but it is absolutely cruel of her to not take extra care not to hammer her brother.
This is oddly-specific, lol. Also the icicle death animation from Crash Fusion is not a crush death example, but a sharp object one.

In the Wrath of Cortex one, when he gets crushed/flattened, he also shrinks! If you look closely at 2:19, you can see what I mean. He becomes so small after getting flattened that you can't even see him! Lol

Fun fact: In Crash Bandicoot's 2 and 3, if you have the Aku Aku mask and get crushed, you won't restart from the last checkpoint. Instead, the Aku Aku mask will disappear. Also, Crash doesn't waddle. He will stand still for a few seconds, before getting back into his original shape. Then, the player continues to control Crash.

Funny how they completely gave up on the death animations in Crash 4, it's more than obvious that they got lazy with them and put more time into level design instead (which is not a bad thing, just saying).
Granted, still had more effort than the other Crash 4 where it was just make the model dissapear

They got really lazy with the death animations with Crash Bandicoot 4.
Its a shame really, knowing that they did an amazing job with Crash Trilogy before that. I got Crash 4 thinking they do a good job with this one.
Only after playing it for a few hours of that game, I was very disappointed with it and returned it to the store.
It’s funny how Crash can survive crushing, whereas Mario & Sonic die instantly if they get crushed regardless if they have rings, power ups, or health respectively.

Fun Fact: In the Japanese Crash Bandicoot 2 port, the crushed bandicoot was made flat in Japan. Because there were murders going around in Japan where people would have there heads cut off and stuffed in bags.
More accurately they would cut the heads off and place their shoes between each side of their head
