This is Episode 1, in which I have travelled from Kolkata to Mumbai in 12102 Jnaneswari Express, a good train serving Shalimar Station and LTT Mumbai. Enjoy as we go through difficult situations where Pantry is serving stale food, and train is getting delayed, also the copassengers!

Having grown up in Mumbai, it was a dream to travel to Kolkata every summer holiday to visit my Dida. Before Jnaneshwari, it was Geetanjali express...so much nostalgia attached. It's sad to see how the trains and their services have deteriorated so much over the years! What's the point of launching new and swankier trains when you can't maintain the reputed older trains?

Exactly what my point is. Its great to launch new trains, but existing system should be perfect. A premium train where people pay more than flight (2ac and 1ac) is running 24 hours late! Pathetic
@@TravelwithSoumit24 Indian railways should think about the operating zones. Due to this around 50-60 percent trains are getting late. first is Ser second NCR third set chakradharpur division Fourth Ecoast railway. They even spare rajdhani.
@@TravelwithSoumit24 absolutely! I had a terrible experiment in March this year. I traveled to Lucknow from Kolkata via Kumbha Express that departed 9 hours late from its scheduled departure time. Journey otherwise was fine, basic. But the return journey via YNRK (Doon) Express was painful! 5 hours late, no hygiene, bad food. Such old and iconic trains but no maintenance, tracks bolo ya train bolo. Now I'm hearing even Rajdhani and Duronto services have fallen as well.
problem is Mamta Didi in her stint as railway minister, started so many trains out of Howrah (sealdah, and others) that the eastern section is running at 110% capacity. even with many sections having 3 or 4 tracks.
hopefully, a lot of freight will shift to EDFC , which will clear these tracks and the trains will run on time ( or atleast not more than 1-2 hours late)
If you ask this question why all superfast trains are running late and goods train running ahead of this train to Indian railways. There answer will be that passenger train are not profitable that's why.
Humko ghar mey constant current vi chahiye. Iss route par late kam karne ke liye ku6 din age 3rd line banaya gaya tha. Aab dedicated freight corridor banaya jaa raha hay. Sabse jyada iss route par coal loded freight trains chalta hay. Iss route par bohot saare NTPC's vi hay. Future mey train iitna late nahi karega. Ku6 din sahe loo.
INDIAN RAILWAY KO COMPENSATION DENA CHAIYE.. IF TRAIN IS LATE OVER 5 HRS.. LIKE 200% COMPENSATION OVER FAIR PER HOUR 😂 TBH SAB KUCH SAHI HO JAYEGA
Railway will go broke if they started giving compensations .. not a single train is consistently on time

like dedicated corridors for 4 major cities
so a track is handling 10× more trains than normal capacity....

Question : How much was the fare ? How much km distance?
Approximately 2000 kms. And 3 ac fare is 2000 rs. 2 ac is approximately 3000

Hi Soumit: excellent coverages, reminds me some 25 yrs before I used to travel but no longer feasible for me these days, only difference while eating on board main meals I used to always spread some news papers , question whether News Papers still available there or become obsolete? Wish all success!
Difficult to manager. I usually use those papers in which bedsheet is wrapped. But in this train it is given in kind of a bag.

It appears that India rail has not replaced the coaches for a long time. Why do you think they don't raise the price and increase the quality? I do not mean to the level of Taiwan and Turkey, but at least maintain better standards of coaches and food? I would be happy to pay 2-3 times the price if quality was improved. When I travel long distance in India I keep thinking: "are these the same coaches as my first visit in 1979?" I do not mean luxury trains, just standard class. Indian middle class has grown in 15 years but trains have not kept up to the economic miracle of India. What is your opinion as to what is the problem?

Complete schedule is fixed no extra train can run every 3 minutes you can expect next train. Only old coach going to be replaced by vande Bharat coach
