Akai GX-210D Auto Reverse function

This is the way how the auto reverse function on the Akai GX-210D works. Put switching foil on the end of the tape on the outside of the tape to switch automatic from side A to B and put switching foil on the beginning of the tape on the inside of the tape to switch automatic from side B to A.

I bought my unit 26 years ago. It didn't come with the manual. I could never understand why it would only reverse from backwards to forwards, until I watched this video. I did not know you had to put the sensor tape on the outside to make it go into reverse. "Dah". Thank you so much for this information.
