I'm a 21 year old lad and I'm the nicest guy sober but when alcohol is in my system it turns me into a nasty argumentative arrogant arse wipe so I don't drink anymore plus I get no benefit whatsoever if I'm not angry I'm depressed with booze inside me. it's overrated I prefer been sober.

Since you first talked about not drinking alcohol I thought about quitting drinking it a lot and I even asked u for advice and reasons to stop drinking it and you really encouraged me to really quit. It never did anything good to me and I almost only had shitty experiences with alcohol and being drunk. Thank you for helping me 💖

AMEN! It's a shame that society deems you weird if you choose not to drink. People ask me, I tell them I don't drink, then their response is immediately why?! And from there onwards, they insist and insist on buying me a drink or interrogating me on my reasons why I don't drink. I could ask the drinkers the same question, do you drink because you're too insecure to act like an idiot without it? is it because of peer pressure?
Well, my answer is damn simple and legit; it's because I don't like the taste. (Oh and I am doing a great job of dancing like an idiot without the help of alcohol, thanks).

im in that point at school where most people are drinking and taking drugs and tbh it scares me knowing the side effects. seeing the culture that has to developed around teenage alcohol consumption is frightening. it's seen as 'cool' but i think it's better to stick to what you believe in than try to fit in. thank you for this video Kicki 💕

See, i'm in this holdiaycamp with other teenagers and it's only the 2nd day and they drink literally 24/7

I can advise you to never drink alcohol. I have been grown up with a father that sometimes would drink too much (he didnt had a grate time after that). I wont ever drink.
I hate it when teenagers are pretending to be "cool" by drinking. Alcohol really wont do anything good for you. Just like smoking.

  • @MadAboutRAE

My worst experience with alcohol was in 2008, my co worker and I both worked at this little bakery in New York and became friends. She was like 3 years younger than me. I told her I never drank before so she invited me to her house and we had a few bottles of hard lemonade/malt beverages. Like 4 bottles in I was a twisty girl, could barely make it down the stairs. Her mother comes home unexpectedly and the girl low key freaks out and just wants to get me out of her house as quickly as possible so her mother wouldn't notice so this bitch walks me to the train station and just leaves me there. Never drink with friends who don't care about you rule #1.

  • @lisa5hot
    @lisa5hot 8 ปีที่แล้ว +14

Idk if it was just me but I got low key emotional af when you were talking about being lost in the wrong train station. You're a really good story teller, and I could 101% imagine how scared and lost you must've felt.
My experience is also similar with alcohol where i just can't drink without feeling absolutely shitty. After a kick back with my friends in college where I threw up 2-3 times, I don't even like smelling alcohol without feeing nauseating. My heart beats really fast and my head hurts and there are just too many cons. Maybe our bodies are allergic to alcohol Lol. Also, I'm loving tea time! Please do lots of these talking videos, this was so fun and interesting! ♥️

I really feel you! I really don't like drinking very often, but sometimes I feel very forced to do it anyways. I mean, I know I have a choice, but when your out with friends and their wasted as fuck, they're always hating so much if your sober. Or just a mess to be around cause they don't even remember their own name haha. I definitely think drinking can be fun in the moment (if your not too wasted ofc) and I do it occasionally, but the day after and the things it does to your body is awful. And I also just hate the way of thinking that (especially where I live) "you can't have fun without alcohol". btw THAT SWEATSHIRT

  • @CamilleRMG

I'm really thankful that you made a video like this. I personally don't drink either but sadly it's not really accepted. My friends are always drinking alcohol when there's a opportunity for it. I'm always denying the offers to drink with them but they start to judge me because I don't want to drink. They call me a coward and a party pooper and put this kind of pressure on me to join their drinking. I don't feel really comfortable with drinking alcohol because it's poison which is slowly destroying your body and I don't really get the point why I should do it for "fun". I'm alright with everyone who still drinks if they do it for real reasons like they enjoying vine for instance. But I think people should understand and accept if someone doesn't want to join drinking. I'm really happy that you also have a similar point of view and you are also someone who proves everyone wrong who claims that partying without liquor isn't fun.

I'm sooooo glad you made the video. I hate alcohol. Never been drunk. Have always despised the taste. I just never got into the whole drinking phenomenon and I think I'm a pretty cool chick. I was embarrassed to admit this to people for so long but then one day I realized I really don't give a shit what people think. I'm doing me and saving myself tons of money and hangovers. I still go out and have fun but I drink a seltzer instead. I loooove to dance and love music, that's my high. Wish you lived closer to NYC so we could hang, haha. :)

Loved this video Kicki. Good for you for deciding what is best for you and going against the huge drinking culture that's currently present in our generation (even though you're a little younger than me). I don't really drink either for similar reasons because I don't love the taste and I like being in control of myself. I really like sangria though, but I never have a good experience every time I imbibe in a glass.

i just discovered your channel and i finally i've found someone like me. I don't drink alcohol because it doesn't taste good and i don't need to drink alcohol to """"fit in"""". I'd rather be sober than completely drunk and slaughtered. People do not really understand why i do not drink alcohol (even champaign doesn't taste good for me) but i clearly feel good without alcohol, I can dance, talk with people, find my way back home. And i can help my friends who are completely drunk too ! I really like your personality and i feel bad because 3 months ago i was in Berlin and i didn't know your channel yet and it would have been great to meet you :'( Keep on shining !!!xoxoxoxo

i know this video is old but i just wanted to say it took me 7 years of shit like this happening to me to realise alcohol was one of my biggest problems. I'm at uni and it's such a maaassive drinking culture that you're expected to pretty much be either always drunk or always hungover. It got to the point where i felt like drinking a bottle of wine a night ON MY OWN in my room was acceptable and just part of the student lifestyle and that no one my age can have genuine alcoholism bc fuck its all for the sesh right?! fuck that i love being sober and it's so uplifting to see more young people coming forward and saying fuck u to alcohol

I had to come back to watch this video after having the worst experience, like it was so bad that I thought I was going to die because it was my first time getting high, EVER, and I just felt so out of control with reality and I felt so tired. I kept thinking about this video and about how you felt and it was comforting because even though these was your experience with alcohol, I imagine it was just like my experience. I just kept thinking, "It's okay, remember how Kicki felt? And she's fine!" It was just sooo scary lol

Ugh I felt so bad for you, must've been terrible... I don't drink alcohol too and totally agree with you! I just wanted to add that even if you're not confident (I wouldn't call myself confident) you shouldn't drink it. You'll find other ways to open up to ppl but alcohol should never be your option just so you don't seem shy. Actually - being shy is fine. :) I'm sure you didn't mean it that way when you said "If you're confident and don't need it, don't do it" but just in case someone misunderstood I wanted to emphasize that if you're not confident you don't have to do it either way. :)
btw - I'm pretty fascinated by how beautiful you are and I love hearing you talk so I would appreciate more of these kind of videos! :D

I was listening to you and it reminded me of one of my alcoholic experiences where I ended up being smashed and disgusting and probably dangerous to myself and to others. And that was 8 fucking years ago. I kept drinking since then, like socially. So I always wonder: why doesn't a bad experience ever stops m, or never makes me realise shit? You tell your story and got a lesson out of it, and made choices for your life. I never do. What the actual fuck.

Thank you, thank you so much for telling your attitude towards alcohol because I have nearly the same experience with alcohol and then I realized that I do not like the taste of alcohol and the hangover day afterwards anyway and the behavior of drunk people is so shitty and sometimes annoying. My problem is, though, that not everyone will understand that I do not drink alcohol, they will persuade me but I resist of course. Sometimes I feel like I am excluded from society just because I do not drink. Do you have the same experience or is it just about the people I meet and about getting used to the fact that their friend (me, obviously) is not drinking? Of course my best and closest friends understand but the others not. Thanks and I love your channel!

you are the living evidence that it's possible to have fun being sober! :) ♥
I've actually never been drunk, because I don't like the effect alcohol has on me even when I take just a little sip (I get headaches and get kind of aggressive.. I am half-asian, so maybe that's why), and I also can't cope with drunk people: I think it makes you unattractive and annoying. I seriously can't bear seeing people I like drunk, because they act like a different (less loveable) person :(
the only "problem" I have is that I actually really like the taste of some alcoholic beverages, like baileys or federweißer, so I am always looking for non-alcoholic substitutes that taste similarly :D

I don't really drink and I always wonder why it seems so weird to others, like why is drinking alcohol considered normal and if you don't do it people don't really seem to understand. Guess that's just one of the things people just start doing without questioning it, but I think it's okay as long as it's in moderate amounts which usually sadly isn't how it is. Anyway, enjoyed listening to you talking about your experience, hopefully you inspire someone to rethink their habits too!

I don't like drinking alcohol either. I've never had a bad experience with it (probably because I never drank enough to actually get drunk) but just the thought of losing control over my body gives me panic attacks. With my anxiety and phobia of anything related to vomit I can't even be around people who are intoxicated. The only time I will drink is if I'm on vacation at like a cocktail bar, where people don't drink just to get drunk, plus cocktails are the only alcoholic drinks I think can taste quite nice. It sucks though when people think that you're uptight just for not liking it :D

I studied in South Korea and there student life was all about alcohol. Some students were not invited to parties/trips just because they didn't drink alcohol. Sometimes older students would force freshmen to drink. I always told them that they can refuse, it's their life and body anyway. Alcohol is good with food but getting drunk is so overrated...

I've had a really similar situation. I also drank too much alcohol before going to a club with some people, then started feeling horrible and threw up on the couch there. I wasn't close with the people that i went with and i didn't want to bother them any further (they had to clean everything up after me), so some random guy walked me to the closest subway and put me on the right train. Luckily i got out on the right station and walked home. My parents never found out thank god.

I am rewatching this video right now and after the first time I watched it, I realized that I didn't want to drink alcohol anymore because even if it doesn't make me sick I still feel how my energy lowers down the day after and also in general and I realized how different I behaved, how many things I said and did that I regret the next day but still somehow after a few weeks of not drinking with friends I came back to it because ( and that is what I realized just a few days ago ) it "helped" me with my problems...of course it didn't but of course I did not realize this. First problem solved: I can talk to people comfortably, I feel comfortable in my skin and confident with everything Isay...does not matter what it is. Second problem solved: I don't feel alone in a group of drunk, talkative people. So why did I still feel shit in general? I realized that all of this was temporary and also most of it was fake. Most of the people I liked when I drank I didn't like for real, most "friends" I only saw when we met up to drink and also I didn't get more comfortable in my skin in general but just when I was drunk. Also I realized that I hated being drunk, I have a phobia and it is the phobia of vomiting and all related to it but STILL I got so hogh from being comfortable in my skin that I sometimes took that risk and of course hated myself when I got sick for real. So...I realized that I hate feeling our of control physically, I hate to feel out of control mentally and the only thing I loved alcohol for was the confidence boost I got with other people. I even felt shit when I drank with my best friends because there I didn't get that confident high because I already was confident in front of them so I just felt the effects of alcohol in a raw way and regretted it...this is a very unstructured long-ass comment but seems like I needed to get some things off my chest. The point is ( I guess ) that I used alcohol in hopes of being more comfortable in my own skin in front of people I didn't know very well and after realizing it I now know which areas in my life I need to work on. Videos like this help me to not give in to that peer pressure and stay true to my values!
    Thanks for that video!!!

I think the throwing up every time you have vodka now might be a bit of classical conditioning; my mom is the same way with anything containing rum. She had a really terrible experience and now every time she has it, she gets sick.
In the Caribbean drinking is pretty heavily embedded in the culture, and most of us seem to have a pretty high alcohol tolerance (I'm the type of weirdo who likes beer or straight scotch when I go out, I actually think they taste good xD). The first thing my parents told me about drinking was to be careful about the mixed ones...precisely because the alcohol is so hard to detect. Luckily I hate sweets so I just avoided them anyway.
Thanks to the high tolerance I've never managed to get terribly drunk, and this just made me want to avoid it even more ._.

  • @richardm9688

Beer or cider is ok. Every time I have drunk strong drinks in the past it usually didn't end very well. Either I fell asleep on someone's sofa or on one occasion I had my wallet stolen. I think I have been 'all or nothing' with alcohol at times, which isn't a good way to be. I do like a drink and the feeling of being 'merry', or 'tipsy', but being 'drunk' sucks. You feel ill and feel lousy the next day! Now, I choose to abstain from drink.

I get the whole "vodka makes me vomit" stuff. Cause this Halloween I got pretty drunk, and I threw up and stuff. Now even thinking about drinking alcohol makes me feel nauseous. Like, my birthday was last Wednesday and my mom was asking me if I wanted wine or champagne and I was like "nope, no more of this shit for me".

one of my friends once told me that vodka and orange juice isn't a great mix at all? idk I don't drink that much, and I agree that alcohol tastes like shit but like, I kinda like the feeling when I get light headed a little bit? it's like I don't have to worry and think about stressful things anymore? I like that feeling. I tend to know when I should not cross the line and be totally drunk though so yeah! also chatty videos would be so so amazing!

I don't drink alcohol either. I'm a shy girl and it takes me some time to start dancing and alcohol might help me to feel more confident but I just think "why should I drink alcohol to act differently than I am?". It might take me some time but still I can have fun without it.

Actually had a similar experience - but not with alcohol, it was when I had food poisoning, lol. I personally do drink occasionally, but I'm always quite responsible, only vomited once when I celebrated my graduation. I really only drink for the taste, like wine and cocktails and stuff, not for the sensation of being drunk.

When I was 16 (2 years ago) I used to drink a lot but now I practically don´t. The reason why I drank so much was because I was not in a good place mentally but luckily I am okay now and I do not crave alc anymore. I barely ever drink nowadays and when I do, I know my limit

I did a lot of underage drinking but I knew how to control myself but than one day on news years my sister had a party and she had sujo and everything went down hill....
I regret it so much because I did a lot of stupid shit that night and threw up everywhere (lost like 5 pounds from it)
since that day they have been making fun of me even tho I said many times that I was very depressed that day and needed to loosen up (I didn't expect to get that fucked up tho)
I went to a party with them and they started telling people about it and I felt so embarrassed and sad that I couldn't even enjoy the drink I had.

i live in Friuli Venezia Giulia, a small region in italy. Here it's common (somewhat a tradition?) to drink wine. Everywhere you go here, you have to drink, even the old people meet in bars and drink a lot. The young people keep on drinking to have fun because there's nothing to do here, so you know, boredom and all that jazz makes the people want t get shitfaced. I was never a really heavy drinker but it's been a couple of years that drinking make me feel bad. Plus, i can't get my head around this thing because why can't you have fun without it? i'm not against it but when it because A NEED if not you haven't fun then i'm against. I know what you mean about confidence but i feel that many can't seem to face life without the help of something (would this be alcohol, pot, cigarettes or other things). I repeat i am not against any of that but the exaggeration makes me wonder about this things. Great video by the way, i'm all up to this kind of chatty videos on your channel!
